The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match

Altough those characters aren’t that great, KOF98 actually has a number of good zoning characters, such as Athena, EX Ryo, EX Kyo, Mature, and Ralf. While not primarily zoning characters, Daimon and Iori can also zone pretty well. They can pretty much do whatever the fuck they want, really.

Ok my team is probably going to be Leona, Chizuru, ???

Please tell me those two aren’t ass.

Please.

:frowning:

No idea on a third yet. Athena? Mai? Yuri? (BITCHES)

put a guy in there

But none of the guys have bubz… except for Chang.

Chibi: Play Mature.

nigga you know who you talking too

mature sounds pretty damn good aza, Ill go with that :3!

Some people think Chizuru is top character in the game, though her learning curve is much higher then the 'tarded three (Iori/Goro/O-Yash). She’s definitely at least S- tier to me.

Leona is another char people think is at least mid, maybe more.

Most of the females in the game are at least decent. I use King a lot myself.

Chizuru is one of the top-tiers. So don’t worry about her, learn her stuff and you’ll be kicking asses everywhere.

Leona is a solid mid-tier and can deal heavy damage with stocks.

As for the third one, I’d personally go with Mai. She’s very easy to learn and does very well against Kyo and Iori. There’s good info for those three in the wiki. Mature is hella good too, although not as easy to learn. If you like zoners, she’s one of your best bets. You could eventually switch Leona for her perhaps.

But I said Chang has bubz too, you sexist fuck.

Np, man.

I don’t like man bubz!

lol

;p

can we stop talking about “bubz”? i mean, its funny and all, and i should play more female characters in general, but enuf “bubz” for awhile ok?

Should I give a fuck if it bothers you?

There’s only been two posts about it, damn.

Do tits scare you?

Sorry.

wow. alright then. carry on.

Still Hoping Rugal is at least as fast as Krauser.

I just hope EX Terry’s Jumping D is the 99-onwards downward and not the 96-98 straight kicj (same with the CD) since he can cross up using that.

word

im super mad and shit

yosh~

Some more of the Tsukache vids- even the promo revealed new stuff of note to me.

Advanced mode seems to be able to use SDM"s without MAX at the cost of 3 stocks. Useful for Andy- makes his Dam Breaker game less obvious. Also useful for Heavy D and his juggle Magnum combo

Lucky got something new that adds to his comboability potential.

Brian can juggle a super off his counterhit Brian Tackle.

lol@ bryans psycho crusher

hmm

i don’t know bout you guys but nightmare geese still looks a little suspect to me.
in that vid geese hits krauser, a char with good def, twice with the double shippuken and a jab and that left krauser at half life. seems kinda strong to me. i’ve yet to see any footage og ex geese counter anyone. does he have the counters? if not this might be more balanced than i thought. yayyyyy

brian psycho crusher is awesome and luckys new crazy kick

thx for posting…
game looks awesome cant wait to use eiji

I’m getting more and more impressed with this game…

One question - what hardware is it using? Is this easily emulatable?

The only home port for this is PS2 as far as I know. As for what arcade engine that UM is using, it’s probably the same engine that’s being used to develop KOF XII because SNK has ditched the NeoGeo board in after 2003 and is moving on from Atomiswave after developing Neowave, NGBC and KOF XI.

I wonder how doing SDMs without powering up would work. I think that they’ll use the 2002 SDM method and have you press both punches/kicks after the move input. That would make the most sense, assuming that the original 98 method of performing SDMs is still in the game (i.e. powering up and then putting in the standard input for an SDM rather than a DM).
