Jhun and Nameless are looking A-tier so far.
I hate to say this, but after playing this, this may turn out to be the overall best KOF yet with everything taken into account (minus balance, since its too early)
Random note, if you are Takuma you can probably eat the hit with d,d + A / C. which gives you ungodly autoguard. Tested this move against a few unblockable moves (e.g. whips HSDM, galactica phantom) and he just stands there and completely NO-SELLS the hit, be it high or low.
If Takuma d,d + P were cancelable into specials it’d be fucking dope, but unfortunately the best you can do is go into another one with no recovery whatsoever. As it stands it’s pretty much useless, even though you can do silly parlor tricks like mashing it against multi-hit supers (can even beat ochris orochi super or maxima’s laser hsdm this way).
FWIW it still loses to earthquake-type moves, chang stop, and throws.

His BC combos aren’t easy. They involve launching opponent in the air in some way, then comboing dp+A(2 hits) into qcb+Dx2(as fast as you can), then doing dp+A again. For example, in corner:
crouch B, crouch A, qcf+BC(this will do BC, qcf+C), f+D, dp+A(2 hits), qcb+Dx2, dp+A(2 hits), qcb+Dx2, dp+A(2 hits), qcb+Dx2, dp+A(1 hit), supercancel SDM

I like it a lot so far, but still prefer '98 Ultimate overall. That’s more of a preference for the way the characters play in '98 versus 2002 though.
biggest difference is that 02 is but ugly, i mean fat mans hairy but ass ugly. mugen looks good compared to it. but the play is all there, personally i prefer the extra and advanced mode of UM compared to the shitty ass BC mode from 02. but again, the play is all there. for me even in play its no UM, but its probably almost up there as well. and ofcourse it still remeains superior to 2k3 and XI IMO.
After playing it myself I still like 98:UM better myself and XI but it’s up there for me just under XI
This guy has some pretty fast paced KOF 2002 UM matches worth watching.
Those vids make me want to go to Mexico already… Also I wish they would try some of the newer characters…I skipped alot of their matches because they were characters that I’ve seen 50 billion times…lol.
