The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match Thread

So…from these videos, it wasn’t clear if Maxima can combo after his df+C anymore. I wish these players knew what they were doing, so that they would atleast know to try this stuff. From what it looks like, the df+C has extra recovery on hit and I don’t know if it’s still attack roll cancellable.

It’s obvious to me that the players were just trying stuff out…I don’t think anyone will truly know what they are doing until say a month or so after the game…I am gonna try go get competent after 1-2 weeks…but even then soo much new stuff…

I think that’s the most logical “place” for it, though - since you can only do HSDMs with low life, if you’re going to go down, might as well take the other guy with you! And she already has another SDM, right (the in-air one)?

Not certain on that yet, I hope she does…because that and the ranbu one are the ones to use… With the aerial one being good for ambiguous crossup games. (and if they jump in 2001, but the ranbu super looks pretty buff in this one)

I’m sure we will all find out at or around Feb 26th since I been reading up on MMcafe BBS where it suggests that there will be another “opening to the public” on Feb 26th upon the games release…

I’d put money on Geese and Goenitz in the game due to them having music tracks on the soundtrack…but something that I also caught was Orochi’s theme…very interesting…

Takuma’s kou’ouken now has a teeny little ki flare effect, like a midget hisho ken rofl.

As I played NeoWave yesterday…something just occured to me…

Why Aren’t we talking about the possibility of SAISYU being that missing last character???

Hello he does have those types of cuffs at the bottom of his legs…and he was in NeoWave…but no one is talking about him being that last character…but he could be that person…

I’ve heard Todo and Jin Fuha…but it would make the most since for either Saisyu or Todo to be that last character…

True…but they could either dissappear…

OR…they could make the same silly mistake they made in 2002 PS2-

Geese is in the background at evening on the very far left on the dojo level…

And he’s still there…

I’d like to think that, with this particular project, they would have noticed such a lack of attention to details last time, and such things like that won’t happen again.

So, in other words, I’d like to think that anybody who appears in any of the backdrops, will probably NOT be a possibility for a hidden character.

But you do know what I am talking about right? I mean I can make a video of it to prove my point right now and upload it to youtube…showing me playing as Geese and Geese still being in the background…it just looks realllllll strange…

in this old preview vid, you can tell 2 of the silhouettes are Geese and Goenitz, so they’re definitely in.

Here is proof that Geese is in the background in PS2 2002…

But King is not in the background:

But like I said, I’d like to think that, THIS TIME around, such mistakes like that won’t happen again. Maybe other types of silliness, but a simple matter of how certain chars should NOT be in the BG when they’re on the foreground shouldn’t be allowed again! :sweat:

Perhaps your idea of how the characters could “disappear” from the background, if they were to be select-able. But I’m still thinking that the likes of Todoh and Saisyu won’t likely be playable, for some of the same reasons that the likes of Mr. Big, Krauser, and some others likely won’t.

NESTS, Master and Clone teams. New pictures. Has Shermie’s jumping D been redrawn ? Do not like.

Kula: La cacola is faster, weak claw bite has longer invincibility, but her far weak kick has been nerfed, and the weak ray spin isn’t invincible on start anymore.

Foxy
A new super, Schroedinger’s cat, where she uses NEST’s flag. Lots of nerfs, Prenilnium (?) and Noa’s memory are slower, the tree of knowledge has slower recovery when guarded, and the jump CD is weaker. Will that be enough ?

Angel
The Royality is now a regular super and can be done out of an unchain circle. The MAX2, Survivor’s Banquet, can also be done normally, but only when the opponent is down. It deals huge damage, but has a very tiny input window.

Dern is back to hiss pre-2001 hold command self. The neck rolling is now a throw, and the strong moon slasher has less invincibility and is slower.

Takuma
A new move that seems quite versatile. his MAX2 has been redone, and the shin kishingeki is a 1 frame throw.

Chin
A new move, projectile mirror with his gourd. Can also be used as an antiair. Like if Chin had any use for this. They don’t understand the character. MEEEH.
On the other hand, a new super that allows to store 5 gauges of alcohol. I’m not sure, but eh, why not. The MAX2 can be controlled from the very start. Oh well, 02 Chin was so just perfect, at least they didn’t ruin him.

Kusanagi
New super (looks like Syo’s striker move in 99Evo). Yamibarai is faster, forward+strong kick’s first hit is cancellable.

Kyo1
New UGLY super, with two different strengths. Very useful, but UGLY AS HELL. some tweaks, new cancel points and better normals.

Kyo2
A new move, antiair. the RED kick can his a crouching opponent. Small jump strong kick is a better crossup.

I hear yah…I probably won’t even bother with SF4 until mid March or so hahahah…
