I don’t need to go down to mexico…I could use the same argument and tell you to go down to Japan or China. Anyway, this discussion is useless since you don’t know what you’re talking about…thinking anyone from Mexico can take out Xiaohai, Dakou or Ching Lung is insane…in fact you’re probably just trolling and don’t believe what you’re saying.
Anyway, alternate guard should not be removed…man if it didn’t exist, I would have lost matches to braindead people that just alternate O Yashiro jab into hcf+P/close C. Do you know powerful that is, especially because of how easy it is to land combos after hcf+P? It’s a pure guessing game unless you CD counter the jabs always.
SBO, The mexicans/brazilians are good. But see, In mex, You see all that bootleg shit. That wont make your game THAT much better, You’ll have shit down. But you wont know how to build meter. I miss mexico <3 bootleg 2k2
Edit:Emil, Thats not fair, You dont know who the best mexican kof players are. Hell, Most of them dont even compete, They are in your alley-garage converted arcade.
So basically you just admitted you dont know anything about the mexico scene…so you’re right its clearly a pointless debate since you’re only familar with what youtube players. Anyhow altnerate guard should sta in my honest opinion, its apart of the game engine.
How did I admit that? I follow almost every tournament in Mexico. In addition, I speak a lot to Lecter, who is one of the biggest(if not the biggest) tournament organizers in Mexico.
Well I mean unless they play each other you can never know for sure who is better. I mean the argument that there are these hidden awesome players in Mexico could be very valid, that they don’t travel for tournaments, get filmed, etc, but that argument is just as valid placed on say China who also has a very strong assortment of players (and probably a comparable pool of players). It’s a bummer they won’t get to play each other but to argue who you think is better, especially if you’re argument is “Well there’s this guy that no one knows about that I know who is better than all these guys!” is really, really, retardedly pointless.
Personally I would say China is stronger, but I don’t get to play both sets of players, and I’m sure most people here have not really played top chinese players, so it’s hard to say since we’re viewing their videos and saying they aren’t good, but then argue you can’t use videos on south america because their players don’t travel to tournaments. So it’s just difficult because it’s hard to have any one method for discerning who the best is.
We can safely say that Japan, China, and Mexico all have talented players though. I don’t think anyone is taking anything away from that. It would be really nice if SNK could organize something and get a south american team out to SBO (assuming KoF2k2UM is in next years SBO) but that may be a pipe dream.
Anyway I suppose enough off topic stuff. I’ve read the thread but am still somewhat confused, is this not coming out in arcades at all? Just to the PS2? If so, I guess that would count out an appearance in SBO.
At least we’ll have something to replace Neowave with, I was never very fond of that game.
