Emil/anyone I need to know the following: How do you perform King’s surprise rose desperation super?
Kensou’s lunge punch. All of team china’s hyper desperations. Also how does O.Shermies new lightning move works?? reliable aa?
Movelist is actually in game, but King’s Suprise Rose is qcfx2+K. Doesn’t juggle quite as well as in 98UM.
Kensou doesn’t have lunge punch but EX Kensou does (qcb+P).
O. Shermie’s new Electricity is DP+P then mash P like Blanka. It’s not really AA. It’s sort of meant to be anti-crossup for people who are trying to superjump over you but it has too much start-up, bad damage, and doesn’t leave with much advantage even if it hits. Pretty bad move all around.
The electricity is pretty useful in some cases…like after a stand CD, opponent might be inclined to immediately roll forward expecting the lightning kiss (if they roll the kiss on reaction, there’s no way they can punish it). So, she can stand CD into the electricity instead which will catch the roll. I remember there were other uses for this move but I don’t recall now…but mainly pre-emptive punishes of rolls.
There are uses, but if they don’t roll then the recovery is pretty bad and you lose all momentum so I dunno…
Actually it leaves you with massive advantage on hit, enough to run up and start a new combo. It’s neutral on block and also does 4 ticks of chip damage. It doesn’t have a hitbox behind her, and neither does the lightning that comes down from the bottom of the screen so it’s useless as anti-roll/jump crossup.
Okay, I got my 2K2UM Tougeki in the mail yesterday. Nice that it has OG2K2 on it as well…
But I was under the impression EX characters were already unlocked on this version? Or do I have to go through challenge or w/e to unlock them?
Okay, this is weird; I had a set of matches with my friend the other day in Tougeki and I found that every single match we had in versus we had on the arena stage. Is this just my disc, or do I have to unlock stages, or what?
I was thinking of going into single player than making him push start to join in, but the game actually doesn’t let you do that.
The stage you get is not random. It’s determined by the 1st character picked by the loser of the last match (the first character picked on the select screen, not the first character in the team order).
So yes, if you pick the same team over and over you get the same stage and music.
Ah. Now I know what’s with that.
BTW do you have Tougeki version? Lemme steal your save data when I come to FR this year. I don’t do that unlocking shit.
haha… can someone plz tell me how to get some matches in this game. I just picked it up for Xbox Live and Im finding that improving my game or even understanding the engine isnt very easy.
What would be my SRK style forum relative to KOF 2002UM, that I want to access for indepth info.
And is Live a decent platform for KOF2002UM. if so add me up and show me the ropes… pretty plz
haha
thanks
Nope. I already bought the original over a year ago. I don’t really want to pay $30 for an update that barely includes enough changes to fill an online patch.
Hm, I paid 40.00 for mine.
Is there a trick to doing EX Robert’s BC combo I can never pull it off properly.
Thanks
Which BC combo and which part of the combo?
Sorry the standard one namely doing [d] u + C, [d] u + D.
how can i combo clrack’s max combo b~f+p to hcfx2+k…??
does any can execute ryu uncrackable hdm (( qcf+hp.lp)) so often…??
Does anyone know what the recent 2MB update did? Did it fix anything?
Any newb character suggestions? I’ve only played a bit of KoF, but currently my favourites are King & Whip. I’m an utter newbie to KoF (not so SSF4, but not fantastic), so someone without a high execution boundary who would balance out the other two would probably help. I’m thinking Yamazaki or Nameless, but I’ve no idea if that would work as a team, or would give me a rounded learning curve as a starting team for the game.
Characters like Kasumi, King, K’, and Terry are very well-rounded and will let you ease into learning the flow of the game.
Nameless is kinda scrub-friendly with his braindead moves and priority but at the same time his expert-level combos are really difficult to execute.
Thanks!
Do Whip’s attacks extend her hitbox out all the way? Can you punish her whip like you can Dhalism’s long-punching arms?
Edit: Going with Whip/King/Blue Mary at the moment. I’m awful, but hey, learning.
