I have no clue what you are arguing with me about. My comment that you quoted had almost nothing to do with what you just said. Where did I complain about lag?
yea true. I can’t really bitch since I said I had 2-3 people I can play with passable connection.
I’d tend to agree that stable ping probably makes a bigger difference.
On host side it’s usually smooth but I’ve hosted and suddenly started walking into fireballs, getting hit by obvious crossups, and/or getting crazy stutters and dropped stuff a handful of times which is…interesting.
I have no idea why people are even bringing this game up in regards to XIII netcode. Do you see widescreen mode or a 1200 point price on this game like NGBC? Did you notice the >6 month delay? Why they gave that game full blown XBLA treatment and just ported a game as big as 2002UM I have no idea, it doesn’t seem like it would be terribly profitable.
Still, you have a translated, arcade accurate port on a system with more common hardware at tournaments for $10 instead of a buggy one on an old system tons of people don’t have sticks for that you have to import at $30. That’s really not so bad as a product even if it’s not quite what a lot of us wanted. I didn’t spend that much money to have my underwear bundled up my ass about the netcode unlike people who dumped $60 on XII or a collective $100 investment in the SFIV series.
Yeah I remember fighting you but I don’t remember the matches well. Did you have a strong Andy? I do use Hieidern, lol, sorry if I projectile spammed at some point, it’s not my go-to strategy but it can be somewhat effective so don’t scrub out Only 3 out of the 8 characters I use even have projectiles (with Leona kinda having projectiles…)
You think people act self-important only when they announce it? As I said already, you act like your knowledge of the online is so absolute that my saying I’ve had decent results is “misinformation”. And again, I guess we should agree that the netcode is trash merely because you say so, since you made no attempt to persuade me other than saying I’m “dead wrong”. I’m not attacking you, I’m telling you what you’re doing.
Look, I’m not here to be persuaded nor really to persuade anyone. You can’t persuade someone that they’re somehow “wrong” about a good experience they’ve already had. No hard evidence could prove that someone saying online has seemed good/bad for them is wrong. Since online varies for people, “anecdotal evidence” is exactly all anyone CAN post. Shit only gets flung when people like you think things HAVE to be the way you think they.
Sorry you have a hard time tolerating posting styles. I get the impression you have difficulty being tolerant in general.
Anyway. I already tried moving on from this topic. With vids and everything. If people are ready to stop the bullwhippery (winquotes!), we can try it again.
This game is just a different beast online. It is really not that enjoyable sometimes. One day I’m having mostly great matches in terms of player skill and netcode, other nights it the game just doesn’t quite add up. It has detracted me enough to spoil my fun online, but this game is a gem otherwise.
has anyone played tekken dr or tekken 6 online… or soul calibur 4 online. those games cost 60 bucks and uses the same kind of input delay method
dunno about 5dr or sc4 but t6 is way more playable than 2k2um online
^ That’s pretty fucking terrible.
in other non-netplay related news, 2k2um will be at NEC in philly (both casuals and tourney) so head to the thread and sign up.
Damn I wish i could go, i’m busy and broke. Place is 30 to 45 minute ride away from my house.:bluu:
nice.
hopefully it’s stream/gets some stream time.
People should go to the event or host their own. They shouldn’t settle for the inferior online experience. In fact, I HOPE IT DOESN’T GET SHOWN ONLINE AT ALL, SCREW EVERYBODY ELSE!

Sucks that the “ignore” option only WORKS when I’m logged in…
a question for experienced nameless players. Is there any easier way to max cancel out of nameless’ DP while in MAX mode? im talking DP into rising storm… not really used to the rising storm motion. canceling into it while in max mode is hard as fuck. its the only thing holding me back from getting this 60-80% combos down.
Are you doing the entire combo before the dp+C, or are you just trying to practice dp+C into super by itself? Because the combo sets up the dp+C so that both hits occur slower, making the cancel a lot easier. If you just do the cancel with the opponent on the ground in front of you, the two hits occur almost at the same time and the cancel is 10x harder. If you want to practice it by itself without doing the whole combo, maybe set the CPU to jump, activate max and get right under them, almost crossing under and hit them as high up as possible. Not sure if that works, but that’s the angle that the combo creates.
i can end the combo with dp+c df+d slide then rising storm its a bit easier but im talking about doing it midscreen i would just use df slide if i was in the corner. i WAs practicing with the opponent standing for that cancel… im a dumbass. this will prob help a lot though thanks dandyj
this combo minus the max2 dm cancel
My execution is terrible, but even then the DP xx Raging Storm isn’t that hard for me as long as I get the motion out fast-there’s a wide frame window to Super Cancel.
You can also try f, db, d, df+ C xx hcb, df + C
nice video:tup:
man i still don’t understand the netplay of 02 UM, I’d be better off playing 98 UM. Excuse me for being opinionated but if any 1 feels mae let me know.
peace out cUDDY:cool:
Did they slightly change Iori’s command grab? All of the macros for the EX challenge 11 that I’ve seen on youtube drop the combo after the first grab when it works perfectly on the video. I have to add an extra frame before the grab for them to combo, but then that makes the max cancelling part of the combo drop, it’s quite frustrating -___-
Yes, I’m using macros, I’m not much good at max cancelling and I simply can’t combo Iori’s grab at all >__>
I feel ya
peace out cUDDY:cool:
(waits for Deadly Rave to type something up in response to this dude)
