oh yeah so i guess the thing i really have trouble with is running in BC combos… is there a good way to buffer the run? like f+BC and then tap f again or is there a better way?

you cant try to wait and see if you activated before you run. just hit f f the moment after you hit bc (without thinking about it) and you should be good.
Just wanted to mention to those curious that the Game of Death footage will be sent to me from Mexico City with urgency tomorrow, there are 3 full DVDs worth of 2002 footage from game of Death on those DVDs and when it comes it will be at a good time, it will be at enough time to bridge the gap between this Game of Death and All Versus 2010.
walk up break spiral, wtf
Are the changes in Tougeki edition enough to warrant buying a new copy? Or is it just a glorified rerelease?
probably if you were at a place with a scene. like an arcade scene. like if u were in japan or another asian country. otherwise i wouldn’t really be in a hurry
Yeah. From what I can tell, there’s no need to rush it. They’ve only announced a few changes which balance the game more. I’m glad Heidern gets a nerf cause he’s pretty annoying. But it’s not so bad cause of the bad recovery from his down up. Anyhow, so far it seems like nothing but a way of rebalancing the game due to possible complaints. Hold your wallet till you see a bigger change.
Edit: Know what though? This has been bothering the Hell out of me. I checked some of the Tougeki version sales online… Now, the Tougeki version is an update right? But it sells for a lower price than original UM. Why is that? I mean, I see original going for like 50 and Tougeki going for 30. I guess if you’d have to choose guys? Go Tougeki since it’s cheaper and updated. Still, I wish that if they were gonna add in a “Tougeki version”, do more than just fix a few features to balance it. I mean, it’s a dream match. Why not get Franky out of the backround but into the game? Or even add Mr. Big, Chizuru, the American team for fun, Duck King, at least one of these instead of throwing in a few things and callin it a new game. I’m just saying is all.
Just FYI everyone the revised thread for All Versus 2010 is here:
Includes 15,000 pesos total awarded to the top three in KOF 2002, and it is now an official Bi-National tournament (USA and Northern Mexico, thank NDP 2k9 for getting this rivalry cooking) in the following games:

1. King of Fighters 2002 Arcade
2. King of Fighters 2002 UM Tougeki

**Honorary Free Tournaments are KOFXII and NGBC.
Get hype!!!

Uh… What the hell is the point of this?
Uh did you read the posts in this thread? Before I answer your question go back and read about how I said we are doing TWO 2002 UM tournaments that way I don’t have to hear bitching from ANYONE in regards to rulesets, this covers all grounds, enter the one you wanna enter (In Mexico they won’t care they’ll enter both they are primed to adapt to whatever is thrown their way), and if you win Tougeki you get the money plus a trophy.
I’m gonna do the same thing here in the USA just hold two 2002 UM tournaments that way I don’t gotta deal with any damn thing at all, it pretty much solves everything, you don’t like the rules don’t enter that game enter the one where you like the rules I’m tired of dealing with this shit.
With an attitude like that, it’s kind of questionable why you’re even running tourneys in the first place, especially when one of the versions is the new standard. You don’t see people running tourneys for an unpatched console version of SF4, do you?
No, but at the same time I hear arguments on both sides for and against console characters, and instead of just choosing one and pissing people off I’d rather at this point just make one choice that makes both people happy that way I don’t have to listen to any bitching at all.
For those that wish to run tournaments on their own as I say no one is stopping them, the irony of everything not to go on a rant is that all those that said they would do tournaments in a different way or so they have their chance this weekend at EVO, but as I say again that probably won’t happen…
To those people I say talk is cheap…
I could use just Tougeki also but now I wanna just separate the games and the rules, 2002 UM OG with console rules, Tougeki with straight up front Arcade rules, maybe later I’ll do Tougeki and just run two tournaments console and arcade, but that’s something to be decided in the future for now we will just use both games…
If the people in Mexico decide later on they wanna use just Tougeki sure thing, but for this one tournament I wanna separate the games and rules, next 2002 UM tournament we will probably run both tournaments on Tougeki unless people don’t have access to Tougeki where they are then they will use 2002 UM OG.
I think the arcade standards should be tournament standards: no boss row picks. Don’t even unlock them hoes.
Yeah but not everyone agrees with that, some people like the console characters, in not just this game but in all the games, in KOFXII that would mean no Mature, no Elizabeth, in KOFXI some feel it should be okay to use Hotaru, Tung etc etc, and the sad thing about all of this is that sure it isn’t the tried true way most of us grew up with, but bottom line is by not allowing certain things we are alienating some people, which is what I am trying not to do.
So the best balance I think is besides having to choose just one way, is make the people choose, give them both options and let them choose.
Hell we are gonna go through this again and again, with the KOF13 console characters 98 Iori etc…
Just my opinion, but don’t you think you’re trying to make a big deal out of nothing? I mean hell, I think it’s stupid that some Japanese players refuses to play console SF4 because it has extra non arcade characters. Does it really make that big a deal or are people just finding things to complain about?
Arcade rules are the best. Cause what happens someone uses like ignitz, omega rugal and zero, but you say only regular Geese is allowed cause you say he’s balanced, that’s already kinda no fair to certain people, but by making it arcade rules nobody can complain cause how in the hell do you get console characters? By beating the game several times and you have to use different charactrs each time.
As for XIII up here in the NW ain’t no console characters allowed only if they get patched for the arcade.
I still say that shit is retarded, Arcade Standard rules may have flied back int he day seeing how they were around in higher numbers & console bonuses weren’t that much. But now seeing how shit has shrunk & more people play console only it’s becoming stupider & stupider to stick with arcade rules only.
Well I am just trying to be fair, as Lord Raptor says now we are in different times right now. I don’t think it makes that big of a deal and yes I think some people will just find things to complain about. Me personally I just adapt, I am for one gonna enter both the 2002 UM OG tournament and the Tougeki one, I adapt both ways!!
Regular Geese is allowed on only one version of the game (and Tougeki if we decide to run two tournaments with different rules on one game). I have seen in Mexico people just don’t think like people here in the USA. I have discovered in Mexico vs. Ismael that there are many, many counters to Geese in 2002 UM, I am aware of that but I think many here simply aren’t because they simply haven’t bothered to explore it, as I said before, if people don’t like it then sign up for 2002 UM Tougeki which is the tournament I are giving money PLUS a trophy for anyways. Bottom thing I see is the only people that are REALLY gonna throw fits about it are the ones here in the USA, like I say in Mexico no one cares I have already told them we are doing two tournaments, but that is because as I say people adapt, they don’t whine and bitch about a certain character they roll with the punches and keep on going. If anyone had a legit right to complain it would be Mexico because they actually have an arcade scene!!!
As I say the times have changed, this is 2010 not 1990 guys, and in the USA right now arcades are dead, so you have most people playing the game for the FIRST TIME on the console, so I still say who’s fault is it if they choose not to learn how to fight against the console characters??
What did Daigo do vs. Justin’s Fei Long? He did what Champions do, they adapt!!!
I mean let’s face it right now, most of us in here won’t play KOF13 for the first time until it hits PS3/XBOX360, with 98 Iori, Billy, etc (Oops did I say too much lol?) so people are going to be learning those characters too and make the argument that some of them should be legal in tournament play as well so as I say this argument simply will never end because its Clash of Philosophy:
New school vs. Old School.
Depending on the outcome of how the console characters are will determine whether I decide to do an Friday Console character KOF13 tournament in addition to the Arcade only or what…because as I say I don’t wanna ever go down this road again…
I am sure you all remember the Final Round SF4 Seth/Gouken debate no??? As I say Old School vs. New School…
As long as whomever console characters in kof13 are not broken as all hell, they can be tourney legal. That is all I really care about. If they aint broken or ultra cheap, it is fine with me.
Shit I remember when MLG wanted to banned Seth and Gouken for whatever reason to find out they were not broken at all.
Well fuck it then. I want to see KOF XI tourneys with all of the NGBC people. Shion and Magaki are totally different though…
Due to this stupid laptop I have been editing that post before constantly, I have discovered in Mexico that truly Geese is not as broken as you all may have been led to believe, as I have discovered playing Ismael there are quite a few good counters to Geese in the right hands but I simply don’t think people have bothered to find them out so they just retort to the “broken” philospophy, hell at this point I say Geese MIGHT be #1 in the game but only by a very very small margin because as I say he has a few counters in the game and this is based off my last trip to Mexico he’s not as dominating as you all might say at a very high level of the game!
Angel, Jhun, King for example are a few characters that give Geese problems (just a small few which as you know in Mexico most people use Angel etc.)
Actually me and Webster were planning to do it, outlawing only Shion and Magaki to revive KOFXI (In the USA not Mexico its still a hot game in Juarez for damn sure, even Durango and other parts of Mexico) because at this point would it really make a difference? They wouldn’t give a damn in Mexico because they know still the best man is gonna win the tournament, it still comes down to overall skill, adaptation, exposure and who has the most experience!!!
