"The King is back!" Sagat Video Thread

Getting TU out is just practice, kill time in training mode, that’s just it, it will come eventually.
Purple is queerish btw.

TU on square gates is easier imo

forward, downforward, forward when youre standing

downforward, down, downforward when youre crouching ( like in sagats BnB )

you can also do downforward, downforward but its harder on square gate

rate my sagat and give tips plz.

watch that vid. i do the ultra on reaction against that chun. lemme know if i sorta helped

k thanks sk8ter
that chun did own me pretty bad lol

I just watch the first match…

Here’s @ 2:47 - Beginning of the match, you immediately throw a fireball, DONT ever do that in a tourney…

2: 49-2:52 - Your too close to throw 3 consecutive fireball, Change your bad habits, don’t even throw two consecutive unless your know your spacing and range…

2:54 - Be confident with your uppercut, chun- li jump in is one of the weakest in the game… it’s so slow and it’s basically asking you to upper cut her crouch…

2:57 - You definitely need to work on your defense, When she is pressuring you, use standing lk, and fireball, you can also use standing jab… ** standing lk is his best poke… / I would show you how to use fireballs as a poke but i think it will do more harm… for now…

Learn how to BNB, I see you understand one of the concept about throwing fireballs… I’ll post more later…

iono why you have such bad rep man. you are always really helpful in the sagat forums and take a lot of time to analyze peoples game

hmm does anyone understand why chun’s second hit on jump in hits when I block the first one? and jayson.boss…I notice you decide to back off with a j.mp instead of going for the throw/tech a few times

is pretty good, offering a wide range of match-ups featuring top Sagats. I’ve been compiling it in my Youtube account for a while now.

It’s got all the usual suspects… Ojisan, Mago, Alioune, and even some RF for when you wanna bore yourself to sleep.

thanks for the inputs guys!

I’ll only help people that want to learn… Allot of sagat player on this board are to big headed to admit they are scrubby…They post shit that is high risk and basically would not work in a tournament. ( it’s amusing that why i post on this board) Most of these players need a reality check and stick with the basic… You can tell how good a sagat player by watching there fireball game… So my advice to you, people that post advance tactics, think before using those tactics because most of them doesn’t work in high level game play… AND to be at high level: What I learn from those japanese player don’t wait for them to make mistakes force them too…

Because your are probably crouch blocking on the second hit…

No I dont crouch on the second hit…if you check out jayson.boss he gets hits from it too while he’s standing/

for guys who have nicovideo accounts, daigo’s sagat:

Here’s the vids of Daigo using Sagat on youtube in case people don’t have a nico account.

tips?

Pretty good job. A few suggestions I would have are be careful with jumping in, he normally just uppercut you most of the time you jumped in. Also, in the second part the ultra at the end wasn’t a good move. it would’ve been safer to just used a well timed slow tigershot. Another thing I picked up was when you connected a focus attack and then missed the uppercut, it’s a lot safer to kara uppercut after a focus, you won’t miss and from there you can FADC, forward roundhouse, forward roundhouse, ultra for the game. But good job, he was a good Ryu.

work on things other than just zoning. And try not to wake up TU every time the pressure gets bad. The Ryu was very solid though

yeah i have a bad habit of whiffing TU on wakeup. i sometimes hope noobs will attack on my wakeup then i can fadc ultra

 1. Follow up that Ex ts with a low ts not a high one
 2. Use a different jump in combo other than j.mp > c.hp because you don’t really follow it up with anything else
 3. I think you can start introducing some advance tactics like fadc or some kara.
 4. Your zoning game works great but I think you can conserve your meter just a bit for that fadc combo…you burn it and are a bit too predictable with the ts.
