Ryboy, Learn the ranges on Sagat’s moves… I’d hope you would have lost to fei long if you miss that many TUs. I didn’t really see you change the speed of your tiger shots too much either; if you are going keep them on the opposite side of the screen, try to mix them up.
You should start hit confirming your TUs, stop throwing out TKs that are not properly spaced, learn better punishing combos, practice your FADC ultra, mix up your TSs more, and if you are going to try to keep people away, you need to use your TS to bait jump ins and punish them, they shouldn’t just get in for free so much. That means that you shouldn’t get so predictable.

I have been reading about how Sagat can use his fireballs to trap someone out, but nothing is recent really and it seems like because of the added frames to his low shots it is a little harder to keep people out. Should I throw slow shots when people are at full screen or when they are really close? I have been practicing hit confirming TUs today and FADC ultra(I can do it all day in training). I seem to have good enough reaction to kara TU jumpins from full screen, but when I dash I always go under them and miss my ultra, should I backdash to fix that or would I need to add a f+hk to get it to link?
sorry for all the questions but I have a hard time replicating things in training room, and don’t get too much time to pratice a day…
stmp Htk is his best meterless punish. Adding in a F hk makes it easier for me to land the ultra, so you could try that. Just practice it on different characters, because they have different looking arcs on their fall. Like Balrog and gouken seem to fall weird, the timing is the same, but you have to time to to hit them when they are lower. Depending on who you are going against should determine your tiger shot pattern. Like if you are doing a mirror matchup, it wouldn’t make sense to throw slow shots from across the screen. But if they don’t have a projectile and are just jumping over your low tiger shots, throw a few fast ones, and then a slow one and they are more likely to time their jump poorly and sit right on top of it. At close range, I don’t see a benefit to trowing a slow tiger shot. but you shouldn’t be throwing too many at jump in range anyways.
Nice vids man! In that Vega match you did a focus vs his wall dive and then dashed in cr.mk>TU>FADC Ultra…which way did you dash? Forward or Baskdash? And can that move always be punished in under those circumstances?
thanks ^^ , I dash whatever side Vega lands on , so in that video it was left from where I was facing. And yes it can always be punished but shouldnt be relied on too much since good vegas will just do the izuna drop when you focus.

bnb to TS, gona try hard to change that, as I have pretty bad hit confirm reaction, and TU in ssf4 has lower damage, I currently doing that to prevent flying up like a rocket…
I noticed twice your fadc only got you 100 damage and you last 140 and you didnt have ultra during any of those. Not sure if you just fadc to make the tu safe on block. Also you jumped in w/ j.lk a few times, not sure if there was a reason other than failed cross up attempts. Just a couple things I noticed, hope it helps.
thanks man, yea i was trying to make the TU safe on block but the only reason i did TU both those times was because i saw OHT pressing buttons on my wake up. i wasted the meter but better safe than sorry i guess?
and you are right about the j.lk haha, although i did it into throw once which was planned. you cant really do that set up against scrubs though as they will dp everytime, but it is interesting to j.lk and throw attempt a couple times, then TU when they are expecting a throw.
thanks dude for all the good info, sorry it took me so long to respond. Iv been n the training room. Actually this tiger shot mind game sagat has to play is really fun, sometimes being really conservative then at the right moment let out like 3-4 shots in a couple of seconds. When I look back at their life its usually about a 3rd gone after something like that. Also it took me a while to learn not to FADC anti air DPs. Beter to look for a trade into ultra for AA, and use the FADC for off the ground DPs. For real though thanks for the tips I love B000ty.
