The Kazuya Mishima Thread

What exactly does N stand for? Neutral? You put your stick back to the neutral position?

An explanation of EWGF would be lovely. Is it just Mist Step -> Strong/Fierce?

He does not have the mist step short cut so you have to do the full motion like the other mishimas plus you can hit mp or hp at any point after and it will always come out not frame dependent like tekken so it it much easier.

correct

best anti-air?

My boy with the guide says wgf is -1. EWGF isn’t listed in the guide as a stand alone attack. EX upper may be EWGF without the execution requirement at the trade of meter, the ex version is +1.

It has upper body invincibility along with the mist step itself. I used it meaty earlier vs a friend and he did a wake up upper with ryu, launched haha

not true, ive done the shortcut it works all the time

bglaugher:

just to correct u…i dont mean to be a douche. again, EWGF doesnt require a mist step period.
to prove it, Hold any of the Buttons down, while holding any button down try to do a mist step. simly the mist step wont come out. though, EWGF will if done correctly.
EWGF looks like a fast 1 framer of f,d,f/d+ p … the exact notation is the same like tekken as well! the whole concept is f~ d,d/f+P , the d,and d/f should be in 1 frame bracket.

so yes…ewgf doesnt require Wave dash/ist step

general:
and AGAIN. for people who are saying something like cr.mp~ ewgf…this is impossible! ewgf apparently cannot be linked after a normal…i am also no the only one who’s testing it! if u think u can do it, please show us the vid because it will break every concept we had.
so yes, if it’s linked/chained then it’s only either WGF or EX wgf

thnx man! i just got the guide…and apparently EWGF have same properties like EX wgf i presume…amazing. free cr.mp links follow up on block

i’m confused… is this what you’re talking about?

Sounds like there needs to be some sort of standard to stop saying EWGF everywhere where it’s not meant, now that we know it actually means something specific:/

Amazing!! ty so much man. so in fact EWGF can be done on non target combos?
Edit: legit!! ty so much!

i will edit my post…apparently i am the one who;s having troubles with it

now i hve a question if u can help or have any idea. EWGF requires Mist step? …i dont think it does but just making sure. in that case, can u care to tell me bout ur input of normals links to EWGF? any normal ofcourse

thnx very appreciated!

thats what was driving us crazy! …seriously. but i gues it’s proven now! so ya, whoever can say EWGF in any situation now

wait a minute here i’m not getting any purple 100 damage rising uppercut im calling shinanigans

the light follow up does 100 instead of 70 like the medium and fierce but, i’m not getting any super secret EWGF. I know you can do it at various points in the mist step to the point where it doesnt come out at all but, the damage remains the same.

From my experience it is a Mist Step cancel. So from the normal, cancel into mist step and then hit your follow up. I have been working on this quite a bit and I have had the highest success rate with ensuring that I always go to neutral when doing this. Seems self explanatory but it is deceiving. I think the proper name for it should be MSC(mist step cancel). This leaves a more general approach as we can do more off of it than just the EWGF.

I haven’t encountered this either. With the fastest and most precise input it still remains the same for me. If anyone who has seen this can post a video of it we would all appreciate it.

Like what do you guys SPECIFICALLY want to see, I would really like to bury this EWGF argument. I can make a vid tommorow if needed but a few people have already posted vids of the two moves and their differences.

WGF:

  • On hit, launches opponent further from you, making some combos more difficult or impossible.
  • On hit, It does 70 damage
  • On block, is negative 1 and the opponent is left close to you with very little if any pushback.
  • Visual que: Blue lightning coming from and following fist

EWGF:

  • On hit, Launches the opponent closer to you allowing you to land certain combos easier for example, EWGF EWGF, 2hp, SUPER midscreen. I don’t believe that is possible with the WGF variation.
  • On hit, gives an addition 30 damage for a total of 100.
  • On block, appears to be even or positive (I can add some examples if necs) and pushes the opponent from you, making it safer overall besides the actual frame data.
-Visual que: Purple lightning coming from and follow fist as well as a new audible tone added to the attack. Hard to describe though.

As for actual input, I have been using f, d, d/f + hp done quickly with d/f + hp being hit as close to the same frame as possible. I seem to get it the most consistently this way.

People have been refering to it as EWGF until now because in Tekken, the WGF does not show any electricity. So when folks saw WGF with electricity; they figured capcom decided to put EWGF in the game without integrating a WGF. We can start differentiating the notations as of now.

Any talk of the f, N, d/f Mist Step shortcut should be backed up by confirmation from input display in training mode.

As of Tekken, an EWGF is a special property performed by hitting 2 (in this case, the punch button) at the same time as the d/f of the crouchdash/mist step command. There is a 3 frame window within which to get the attack button to follow the input of the d/f in order to get an EWGF. If the attack button comes any later than this window, it will be a WGF. Hitting the attack button before the d/f results in an unintentinal move. (in Tekken, at least)

Since I don’t have the game, I can’t be certain that the execution requirement is the same; but until someone can confirm exactly how and why it works; presuming it to be the same as Tekken is a safe guess.

Pushback on block is an indicator that it’s an EWGF. Extra damage on hit (and short launch distance) is an indicator of EWGF. For now I can’t see the electrical colouration difference on any of these blurry video signals.

does kazuya have a wallbounce move?

Nope, unless theres one on a counter hit. Actually I believe he does but I dnt quite remember. Anyways does anyone know where i can get myself some frame data for Kazuya?

Poongko appears to be dabbling with a lot of Kazuya.

I am really liking his game - I have been rushing down with him and doing massive damage with the bounce - ex bounce - etc + attack gems
also some of his block strings go high low to open people and people have a hard time adapting

he is a ton of fun for sure tho

I’m loving him personally. He was always my favorite Tekken character so I am glad he seems good at least this early on. With two bars I am basically guaranteed to half kill you if I touch you and I love that.
