i tried to use 236 p as an aa and as a counter poke, and both got hit out. is it just the ex version?

I never said it was great. But, go into training mode, set the CPU to record: UF+ HK > DB. (Head level jump kick into block) play around with it and you will see…

To other posters: He a rush down character, but it is very easy to input the wrong command. Very often (at leat for me) at first the EWGF, came out as 236+P. Took me a bit to tighten it up.

As far as getting a special EWGF, the guy from SDTekken/ Madcatz said they weren’t in the game during Cross Assult. But, who knows. I haven’t seen it yet. but, I assume we will know in time.

Also Max posted a better mid screen no meter/cross combo on his latest SFXT guide on youtube. So check it out. I will update my first post soon.

his wavedash is still a lil tricky to me especially buffering it in after normals…but all in due time

his 236 + punch is the Gut punch right… I do know the EX version has the Thundergodfist follow-up

I also know he has his 1243 combination from Tekken, does the 4 still act as an overhead like in Tekken? is it bufferable?

has anyone found a better use for the 112 combination other than a knockdown/cross-up starter

and is his jumping roundhouse a crossup?

Question: is QCF+P always unsafe or can it be used from the tip of it’s range to create safe pushback distances?

Any chance of poke, hold QCF+P, dash being a factor for him?

When doing the mist step does anyone else get an extra :f: after doing the :f:N :d::df:? I get that extra input sometimes during a combo and i get the demon god fist instead. I probably just have to keep practicing but any other tips?

you arent tripping, he does have an ewgf and it does have a purple tinge to it. It also shows on whiff or hit. It is performed similarly to tekken, a quick tight wgf motion. The main benefit (not having tested vs attacks, etc) is that the opponent is significantly closer when launched in the air and it seems as if you recover slightly faster. I tried just a few test combos but, you can do ewgf, ewgf, 2fp, tgf to mid kick. If you try that combo using just wgf, you are too far to land any follow ups after the 2nd wgf. You can do wgf, 5hp, wgf but again follow ups are harder afterwords.

is the gut punch an overhead move? it would be cool if it is like in Tekken

and does the jumping roundhouse crossup (lol can’t let it go)

qcb+lp -> EWGF -> b+mp,mk,lp

it only hits if u do the EWGF not reg WGF

Lets get it right, his reg uppercut is WGF do not call it EWGF, EWGF is a priviledged term used for those who can get that 1link execution perfectly. Also if u land EWGF, it will make a noticeable clapping noise

GEM NOTE: if you guys put in super easy mode…his wave dash is justa reg. shoryuken motion and EWGF is a lot easier to perform…we’ve now open pandora’s box…hmm

Thanks… Hei has the same jumping jumping forwards and roundhouse as Kaz so i just assumed… nwei it’s ok Kaz prolly needs just one crossup anyway I do hope his walk speed is faster than hei’s

BTW is the 112 a hard Knockdown? meaning you can’t do techrolls from it.

Hmm Now i don’t see any use for the Gutpunch (yup the qcf + P here) at all especially since in videos i’ve seen the TGF (Thundergodfist) with followup kick seems to be a much more suitable ender for a slaughter hook combo.

Thanks for the explanations on EWGF. I know nothing about Tekken and I find that very intriguing. To the lab!

edit: if anyone is willing to make a video displaying this that would be awesome. I’m not sure if I’m doing it right because I’m not able to land the combos you guys saying should work with the tighter EWGF

Heres my video confirming EWGF. Credits to Justus and Half-Ro for mentioning it! (sorry for quality… can’t record except like that :p)

I tested in Kazuya trial #7, where it asks for Mist Step -> Rising Uppercut (WGF). If you do EWGF, then it will not clear the trial as its considered a different move since Mist Step doesn’t come out at all.

Looks from that vid that EWGF may do more damage than WGF. Someone ought to check that with the damage counter in training mode.

Right! Normal does 70 damage, while EWGF does 100! That’s awesome :D.

Alright cool that really helped me. I’ve done the combo above with the back mp,mk,lp ender now a few times.

And yes, WGF does 70 damage and EWGF does 100

this is incorrect his best Mid screen combo is the following *Cr.Mp, cr.mp xx qcb lp, cr FP, ewgf , qcf FP to lead them into the corner.
