That means you didn’t do it fast enough. If they’re far away from you, you need to do the super immediately as you recover or it won’t hit them in time. Generally if I know I’ve missed the window I’ll just do a normal qcf super and still get some damage since the timing is much more lenient.
Nah won’t work, hanged man doesn’t hit low, he’s a mid block. Hol has plenty of low hits that do work though(2C, dash 2C, 4C, 2A)
That super is…generally bad unless your opponent is literally about to die and you hit them with it on their wakeup. It’s extremely punishable, and if he’s playing against Hol and does that it’s like asking to take 80% life in damage. All of them are pretty simple to dodge. He can mix it up by using different button combinations(A+B, A+C, B+C) which will have different patterns, but none of them are very good.
On that note, there are some supers in the game that are altered by different button combinations like I listed above. Such as Polnareff’s QCB super, and Hol’s QCF super.
I meant the initial Hanged Man was blocked or dodged, not the Saikyo no Combi, should have clarified. But still, good to know. I know I can work it into combos, I was trying to get it off of 5a3 -> wallbounce -> Hanged Man like I saw in a vid, but my timing was off. I still haven’t overcome the ‘can combo stuff in training mode but not real matches’ stage.

I’ll tell my Vanilla Ice friend that, I think the only two supers he knows so far are the ball super and the Superman punch super where he just lunges at you with that fist?The ball super is just so predictable and punishable, though. I might not tell him coz you know, gotta get those easy wins in before he starts kicking my ass, haha, but we’ll see
Tell him to learn to combo into (it’s gross, and looks easy - I’m not an iced player, but I bet it’s possible) his punch-kick super (don’t bother charging it), or tandem off the long multi-hit swipe he does.
If he faces someone who predictably jumps in, have him do the (Super short range) super that Iced has. (The one where he yells Omoshiroii!)
In addition to what Josef mentioned, Boing-Hol’s unblockable bullet-pipe super is also controlled by what buttons are pressed, off the top of my head.

If memory serves it’s referencing that part where Ice is flipping out while killing you know who(incase anyone hasn’t read the manga) and ranting about how he has to realize that he’s evil for impersonating you know who.
Ah. I thought he was saying Omoshiroi (similar sounding, considering the sound samples) which is “Amusing” or interesting, et cetera. Given the aloof nature of enemies in a manga like Jojo’s, it makes sense. BUT IS WRONG APPARENTLY.

Most of the vids are normal matches but usually contain at least one really broken combo or funny glorified taunt.
Tako in this case would be an octopus and not a kite. I believe it roughly translates to “They look like an octopus/they’re also like an octopus”. I’ve seen it tako in other fighting games as well(Guilty Gear comes to mind), and if I had to guess they’re referring to the fact that the character is acting in an overbearing or unfair fashion “as if they had 8 arms instead of 2” kind of thing.
