The Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Thread!

Hello, I am very new to the jojo scene. Jblair introduced me to the game, and i am so clueless about it.
I would really appreciate a basic rundown of the game and all of its characters in 2df, if anyone has that. my 2df name is griff223. lets schedule something . I do not expect anyone to do a writeup on it, as i understand that is a lot of work.

There are glitches. TONS of glitches. The emulation glitches are just on top of the arcade glitches.

Don’t worry though, the glitches don’t really show up very often in actual gameplay.

LOL i’m aware of the staggering amount of glitches i just mean the mariah/win count/combo count glitches

Who does Chaca’s voice in the game? Is it Satoshi Tsuruoka, Boxer’s SF4 VA?

Don’t think so. Hardedge wiki lists the voice credits as given in the game. Not listed by character, but:
Egawa Hisao, Ohkawa Tohru, Ohtsuka Yoshitada, Kishi Yuji, Tareki Tsutomu, Chiba Isshin, Nagasako Takashi, Nagasawa Miki, Madono Mitsuaki, Yanada Kiyoyuki, Hayami Show, Yasuhara Yoshito, S. Obata

GGs last night Fayk

thats sexy matt. im sunday! btw

Is anyone going on today, later today or right now?

To SVGL, or GGPO?

No, and hopefully I’ll be on GGPO this evening. I usually at least drop by after work, but that’s often as late as 8pm PST/PDT.

driving to chicago and back is painfull ; ;.

Hey guys, I’ll be a week or two. My computer just died on me, so I have to use my labtop. I don’t want to play JoJo’s on GGPO without a stick, but I need an adaptor for my labtop. -_- Stupid Macs.

Edit: Btw, this is Tales24.

sorry to hear that Tales24, hope it gets back soon!

I’m frowning at you VERY HARD right now, Tales.

Heh. The machine I play on is a Mac. Serious question, whyd o you need an adaptor for your laptop that you don’t need for your normal system?

God damn, I haven’t been on in a long ass time. Sorry guys, I’ve had all kinds of god damn social events occur throughout the last few weeks. And when I do get home, I’m usually too tired to play or the internet is actin funny. Will have to catch up with yall hopefully sometime this week, if not tonight (unless something comes up).

no worries geezer, we know you love us <3

Good luck geezer.

To be honest, I’m glad ya posted. I was thinking yesterday that it’d been a while since I saw you. If you of all people burned out on Jojo’s it be THE END.

Fayk, the adaptor is because I used a 360 stick when I played earlier. It had a USB port so I didn’t need an adaptor, but it doesn’t work on a Mac. It simply will not even register that anything is plugged in. So, of course, now I need to buy an adaptor for my PS2 stick. -_- Oh goody. Keep reppin that JoJo’s while I’m gone. xD

can’t find the other jojo thread, is it dead?

anyway, found a new input buffer “bug”, that might be too hard and impractical to be useful, but is cool anyway:

only works with active stand chars. doesn’t matter if stand is on or off, but starting with stand off makes more sense:
4,66, wait, S~4 OR 6,44,S~6
what happens is, the first “4” or “6” actually stays in the input buffer, and you get a dash and then a stand on backdash in rapid succession. looks cool. hard as hell though.
the S~6 or S~4 has weird timing to it. it’s easier with abdul, probably because his dash can’t be canceled as easily as for other chars. with dio and jotaro, i had the most success when waiting for the recovery part of their dashes (at least i’m imagining it helps).

what you also can do is:
hold 4… or hold 6… then do the input. it will still register. you don’t have to be all that quick to pull it off, too, the first motion stays in the buffer for quite a while.

Tales! You can get 360 sticks working on MacOS with a third party driver. I can help you out with that sometime if you want. I use a 360 TE on my mac.

Assuming you’re running a relatively recent version of MacOS at least. The reason is that 360 controllers aren’t class compliant HID devices (long story short, they are non-standard, so need drivers).
