The inevitable tier thread

No problem :lovin:

BTW, here’s something you guys might find funny. See the other gamertag, ReleasedBeef? I once tried to register SweetJV a second time, and XBox gave me a suggestion list of alternate names to use. ReleasedBeef was one of em. Oh XBox, you’re so funny!

Hm, interesting. I guess I’m just more comfortable with different matchups, such as 'Rog. I can tell you, for example, that Blanka is probably my most hated matchup.

Also, there are some Cammy’s here who like the 'Rog match. Speak to Silver Rain, I believe he feels the same as I do.

EDIT: But here’s the funny thing about the 'Rog match. Take Zangief, for example. 'Gief can easily cr. jab or throw random sweeps and kill Cammy’s arsenal. Same as the 'Rog match, main difference being 'Gief can’t get in as easy but can still deal damage from a distance. Plus his strength means that Cammy can make zero mistakes.

I doubt we’ll agree on this because its a preference thing.

^^^ Truth.

Particularly with Cammy players, there’s two ways to play, either all or nothing, or patient and poke. I think because of the lack of REALLY good Cammy players combined with many good players lack of seeing her… certain matchups which SHOULDN’T be good can be if you mix up the playstyle. Like maybe Rog SHOULDN’T be bad, but like Noriega said, its a matchup we feel EXTREMELY comfortable with. I feel really good about the blanka matchup, but when I need to be super patient vs. Ryu or Ken that’s not good

You’d be surprised how many people don’t get that. :looney:

That’s also true. I get the impression that people don’t see too many above-average Cammy players, so some of her tricks tend to be more useful than they actually are. I was able to beat TO13GO13 and Fifth Bud’s Guiles, and I believe its just because they were taken by surprise (they are infinitely better than me as players). This happens. Heck, one of the knocks on Ryu is that everyone knows his playstyle by now.

to anyone who cares

i love tier lists!!!

been playing ALOT lately

heres my vs honda #'s(for what its worth, ha):

Disadvantage:

ryu 9-1(fake fire ball!!!)

ken 8-2(fire ball and srk antics)

deejay 7-3(like guile except he can go on(non fireball) offense easier vs honda)

guile 7-3(honda with a fireball)

blanka 6-4(jp.lk anyone? alot of people will disagree with this matchup number heh, blanka >.<)

sagat 6-4(tiger tiger tiger)

chun 6-4(close to even, but fireball gets the edge yet again(along with jp.mk/lk)

Vega 6-4(my personal most hated matchup)

Even:

Sim 5-5(trades make up for fireball and zone crap)

Bison 5-5(very slippery but knockdown crossups haha)

Rog 5-5(1st to get life lead seems to win)

Advantage:

Cammy 4-6(HHS still owns)

Fei Long 4-6(jump back HHS)

T Hawk 3-7(reversal ochio and HHS)

Zangief 2-7(lol, where you going zanggy?)

that’s 66 total!!! ewwwwwww. maybe my ryu and ken #s are a bit harsh?

dont kill me!

Honda vs. Ryu isn’t THAT bad.

And Gief has slightly more of a chance then I would give to Hawk.

i feel alot safer vs gief to be honest.

hawk is a bit more mobile.

and lol, ryu sucks man.

Cammy/Honda is like 10-0 Honda homie. Just sayin.

i dont think its anywhere near that bad.

Yet honda’s sure don’t have any fun in that matchup.

I tried to play hawk last night, I got stomped

i like to literally just HHS and butt splash vs gief’s(throw in some forward/back HKs in there if he’s just lariating and down back blocking).

i can usually pull off some HHSs against T Hawks but i wont even attempt buttsplashes unless hawk is waking up or im in range to cross him up wit HKbuttsplash(usually i still get stuffed with hawks srk).

lol, and after playing you jiggly I can safely say(in my head at least) that gief is easier(for me) than hawk(and RYU!!!), ha!

Where do people put Sagat at in the tiers? I think he is def below Ryu and even below Dictator. Maybe at Honda’s level…

After reading through the last 30 odd pages of this thread, I must say I bleed for damdai’s efforts in trying to create a consensus 10 point matchup chart.

As far as I see it if you can’t get top players to agree if Honda-Cammy is 10-0 or 6-4, then there’s not a chance in hell they’ll reach a meaningful decision on anything like if its a 7.5 or 7.0. Just my two cents about the whole matchup chart business, which I must say would just be an excellent thing if top players could create one.

Well if you don’t use 7.3 or 7.8 then there is a loss of accuracy, and the matchup information won’t be informative anyway.

LET’S DISCUSS FRACTION MATCHUPS AGAIN!

geez is cammy v honda really that bad still?

i havent played a single decent cammy yet.

(if ive played your cammy im sorry, ha)

who are some good cammys?

Yeah, Cammy V. Honda is bad… really bad… I personally think its THE most one-sided match up in HDR, but I know Hawk v. Honda isn’t exactly fun either. Tier rankings based on the, if this is the best player of X versus this is the best player of Y, X will be Y so many times out of 10 thing, the best Honda’s (Thelo / Megaman) will defeat the best Cammy (in North America on XBL your options are Sirlin, Irvine Deveraux, Myself, and Noriega) at least 8-2. I play Thelo and its usually something about 8-2 / 9-1 in favor of Honda. I’ve only played Megaman once in my entire life, so I’m not sure what that 10 series would look like…I would guess something very VERY similar.

lol, honda and his matchups.

im pretty sure ryu v honda is bad too, and ive only really played one good ryu and he doesnt even main him, ugh.

You also don’t know how bad the fei vs honda matchup is either. . .

Fei has it better than Cammy though. :pleased:
