Wall bullshit isn’t abuseable as everybody has a counter to it. The only real time you can go for a walldive is on a knockdown, other than that you’re just hoping the other playing doesn’t counter it. (You can also time a walldive on a fireball spam character and probably scratch 'em, but since you’re not getting a knockdown it’s just a little bit of damage or chip if they block in time)
Hey, I’ll be the first to admit that I blew it with Vega in CvS2. I wasn’t alone though, seems like all of Japan slept on him in that game until it was too late also. But yeah, bad call by me on that one, I didn’t understand how he was supposed to be played in that one.
I still think he’s going to be relatively low tier in SF4 though. He has some good matchups. He beats Zangief (Zangief was overrated anyways), does OK on shotos and I really think he beats Dhalsim. I think Dhalsim is going to be a top character in SF4 (only one of the arcade 17 that beats Sagat) so that’s good for him to have. I think he beats Fuerte also, but I don’t think that’ll be a very important match as far as the metagame goes.
But I don’t see how he’ll be anything but a mid-tier character in SF4. He just doesn’t do enough damage and has too hard of a time making comebacks. Hey, I’d love to be wrong about this one also. Because he does so poorly against Balrog, Sagat, Bison and Blanka, I barely play him in that game.
I am surprised to find myself coming to a HD thread wanting to hear more SF4 vega thoughts.
Anyways, I have been maining vega for a bit, and I am on board with everyone who says vega is very good but probably not top. Although there are plenty of places to use the walldive outside of just knockdowns, and the fake may give even more.
My girlfriend spent nearly 2 years living in the Tanzania, Africa doing research for her PHD in anthropolgy. The swahili word for pu$$y is Kuma. Just thought you would all like to to know.
Not to derail, but that’s why I think it’s so sad that we have an otherwise diverse, fun, and interesting tournament game. Back to 3S chun li, I guess…
It’s taboo but I think banning Akuma in this particular case will make for a much more enjoyable tourney game. Even if he’s just REALLY high above the rest but justs short of being broken.
This. Every character seems to have his 6-4 matches and his 4-6 matches… except Akuma who has a whole lot of 8-2 or whatever matches, and screws everything up.
