【#日刊ストV】ちまたで一瞬話題となった「ゼン」というインド人を開発が面白がって描いたイラスト。登場しません。(開発秘話)
“illustrations drawn by the amused development Indians called “Zen,” which became a hot topic for a moment in the streets. Not appear. (Development secret story)”

I think Zen was going to be a Bollywood star with sing, song, and dance moves for his attacks. There would likely be a lot of colored Holi powder being thrown around left and right too. A perfect fit for Street Fighter, although maybe a little too much on the humor side.

That could have been fun. Any reason as to why he was scrapped? Or is he gonna be part of the future dlc roster? Hmmm

Vasili can correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks like Brenda is their mom…then Sean has one brother who is 7 years older and 1 sister who is 6 years older (probably Laura). Grandpa is Kinjirou. Father is Yuichiro. And, that makes up their happy little 6 person family.

I presume it’s because they went with Necalli instead. They also already had an Indian fighter in the form of Dhalsim, so having Necalli who represents a completely different culture and geographical region seemed like the right choice.

We also already got a more laidback and fun design with Laura, having 2 of the 4 be so lax might not be a good idea.

It might be abandoned, but imo the location Gief finishes Seth is somewhere on the cruise ship. Assuming that the boat featured in TTTB anime is the same one featured in the game. Both have a similar Roman style interior design.

Yes, but up until Hugo’s release, Zangief’s SF4 ending was the only one that made mention of the tournaments end. We know that it likely devolved into some secret underground fiasco. We also know that Gief and Hugo were the only ones that had beat a Seth, and were oblivious enough to still think they were in a legit tournament. Although everyone else that were included in defeating a Seth had other agendas besides winning the tournament. Most were there because they had reasons to deal with S.I.N, or Seth personally.

You’re welcome bakfromon. Yes, he also has an older brother who’s one year older than Laura, and she in turn is six years older than Sean. Brenda is indeed their mother. It’s not specified if the entire family of six including Sean’s Grandfather Kinjiro works the shop or just the father. It’s also currently not known who else besides Laura actively utilizes their family style of jujutsu.

Rhythm-based attacks? He probably would’ve been pretty interesting to play. His name could’ve been Lucky Zen.

If we go by Ryu’s quote to Laura in SFV he says that Gouken even had some knowledge of Matsuda Jui Jutsu, which would mean that he probably faced one of the predecessors of the style. I’m thinking it would be similar to how the Gracie Family patented their Brazilian Jui Jutsu in the real world. I’d think its fair to say that the whole family would be somewhat skilled in the art starting with Kinjiro himself. Even Sean knows a few take downs.

By the way, Anyone expects to see this at some point of the Street Fighter V Story?

Maybe not the actual encounter between Chun-Li and Urien. But the speculation is that we will see how Chun-Li and her “legendary legs” will take down Shadaloo.
But there is the girl that Chun-Li rescues in her character story mode. Maybe we’ll get some insight on her relationship with Chun-Li. And why Urien chose to kidnap her. If anything was special about her.

Yes. We expect to see Chun-Li lead the heroes to victory, because she is the character that deserves to take down Shadaloo more than anyone. Not Ryu, not Guile, and certainly not Nash.

She will finish what her father started.

Gouken is probably someone with a lot of connections and relationships in the martial arts world. I wouldn’t be surprised if him and Oro were old acquaintances.

The way it’s written, it sounds more like Zen was never going to be a character in the first place. They heard the false rumor of a character from India named Zen, so they made that concept art as a joke.

I’m saying that one of the rumored characters lists included an Indian bollywood actor. This wasn’t the first leak list. A second one that actually went on to mention more details about the new characters and even mentioned a new Shadaloo scientist that uses injects himself with drugs to get different buffs during the fight or something like that.

You mean the one posted by hadoken.net that was taken down because it was super fake

Hey, don’t get me wrong - it’s of course obvious that Zangief that not have even fight Seth at all, since AFAIK his ending only shows him arriving to the scene after all the destruction has been done by the hero team and Bison and Juri, so he only find a dead Seth clone body

Neither Zangief nor the general public know about Bison’s spare body program, part of which was Seth, so Gief probably just assumed he found the real villain a.k.a. tournament organizer. So he took a selfie with him showing a defeated “Seth”, which was posted on the general media (note how anything else wasn’t covered at all, and kept under rugs by the USA Military, Mi-6 and the Interpol), which TECHNICALLY makes Gief the official tournament winner

We all know it’s Bison, Juri, Chun, Guile, Abel, Ryu, Sakura, Dan and Blanka who were in the SIN base and destroyed both the base and Seth himself, so there really kinda isn’t a one concrete “tournament” winner. Hell, Bison and Juri aren’t even part of one

Speaking of the victory quotes, does anyone have a list of what we have so far?

Alright! Zen and Eisbahn for second wave of extra characters, I guess

There was a website that was collecting the SF5 winquotes. Can’t recall what the address was but a quick Google search should lead you in the right direction
