This is my personal bias, but I say Chun-Li. In somewhere between IV and 3S (since thatās when the story of sfv takes place), Chun-Li takes down Shadaloo, as referenced by Urien.
āHow could you ask to see me for such a trifle thing? You must be a fool! Iāll give you the girl, but you must entertain me in return. Your legendary legs are said to have destroyed āthat organization.ā Let me find out for myself, if the rumors about you are trueā¦ā
If what āthat organizationā that Urien is refering to as Shadaloo, then I would assume that Chun-Li has played some major role in taking down Shadaloo (and possibly Bison)
How SFV fits into the timeline makes more sense now. With Shadaloo destroyed, a lot of older fighters will probably quit, while this is the first chronological introduction of Alex and Urien, so weāll see a bunch of oldies like Nash, Zangief, and Guile retire, and the bare minimum will stick around for SF3, when the⦠NEW GENERATION arises. Just wait until the SECOND IMPACT when Hugo shows up, but the THIRD STRIKE is what counts, you know? Nailed it.
I think itāll be the combined efforts of Guile, Chun-Li, and Nash. Alex may or may not also contribute, and Ryu will be a key distraction that leads to Bison/Shadalooās fall.
I think that seems to be the logical choice (maybe add Cammy in there too. Here what I think might happen in the story.
I just feel that Guile is gonna be so focused on Charlie (with him being back and well⦠a frankenstein, Cammy might focus on rescuing her sisters (the Dolls), and I think Alex might be linked to some Illuminati stuff later in the future, leaving only Chun-Li to take down Shadaloo and M. Bison for good.
It doesnāt matter. Evil (aka Bison) never dies, it can only be postponed. Having said that, Bison is the only person worthy enough to truly destroy Bison. The kind of power he seeks will be his ultimate undoing and nothing else.
Shadaloo however will fall from the combined effort of the heroes over many years, compounded with the greed and treachery of many of its own members.
This also belongs in the Story thread as pointed out.
I think Bison uses different bodies in SFIV and SFV. It is said during his intro that his new body is temporary and probably couldnāt handle his full power yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrL50lleatU
around 15s
Well all his bodies are temporary until he gets his hands on Ryuās or body with the same potential as Ryuās (even then he wonāt be content). I doubt he made a switch since SF4 though, itās too short of a time span between the two games. Plus Bison has aged since SF4, this lends itself to the idea that he is still in the same body. Weāll know exactly why he has aged this fast though, but it probably has to do with Psycho Power deteriorating his body faster than normal. Given the possibility that the cloning process was incomplete because of Bisonās haste, his aging could very well be a side effect of leaving incubation too early.
Whatever the case, his most recent body is still very strong and has demonstrated an incredible innate capacity for Psycho Power, maybe not for the full extent (because of side effects) but certainly more than its predecessors. He probably shouldāve stayed in incubation longer though, and I have a feeling that that detail wasnāt just put there for no reason. The writers of SF4ās story had foresight of SF5 IMO.
Just going by what Ryu is capable of in the SFA movie that is cited as an āaccurateā depiction of capabilities of the fighters, and going by the HEAVILY adopted/adapted Nakahira mangasā¦yes, what is shown in typical SF games is WAY lower power than what these guys do and Marvel is much much closer.
A lot of these people have straight-up super-strength (Birdie with a train, for instance). Bisonās psycho powers are high level telekinesis AND physical augmentation and more. Chun-li can unleash blasts that create craters. Ryu can create vacuum hadokens casually that disrupt waterfalls. Akuma can split Ayers Rock. There is NO WAY to represent this stuff in a traditional fighterā¦itād be closer to something nuts like a DBZ game but with no flying. In speed alone, the SF characters are insane with the ability to dodge bullets based on muscle reading, putting them AT LEAST at the caliber of Captain America (whose abilities are NOT to be underestimated)ā¦and this is done by Ryu casually.
Chun-Li can throw out a dozen kicks in a second (also, Bruce Lee could throw 5 kicks in 1 secondā¦itās on film) and Akuma can throw ONE THOUSAND attacks in a single moment. Most of the upper tier (not even high tier) fighters would probably hand someone like Iron Fist their ass. And obliterating wooden training dummies? Shiiiiiit. Thatās nuts to do casually and Akuma was doing it basically with nothing more than lazy high-fives. Hell, Rolento throws around GRENADES as part of his fighting style and isnāt considered OP.
Someone could correct me if Iām wrong to assume this, but would the Shinkuu Hadoken use vacuum energy as a basis of itās formation? I know itās a direct reference to Miyamoto Musashi, but I always thought that it would be interesting if the Shinkuu variants of Ryuās attacks some how tapped into vacuum energy as his manifestation of Hado. If that were the case its no wonder Ryu has the potential to become the strongest fighter, the guy can tap into the background energy of the universe.
wow so you looks like you didnāt get my joke. itās just a joke with references. first reference is the old fan pan gag, second reference is Pocket Fighter , third reference is Flintstones , fourth reference is Geese Howard, fifth reference is South Town and the final reference is Terry Bogard.
I always thought the Shinkuu/vacuum was a reference to him tapping into the power of nothingness. Definition of vacuum is a space entirely devoid of matter. Devoid of matter, as in empty, as in thereās nothing there, as in the power of nothing. So a Shinkuu attack is basically a nothingness boosted attack.
Yes. The fact of the matter is scientists and physicists have claimed that there is more energy in empty space than there is in the known universe.
So The Power of Nothingness is actually a way to draw upon these unlimited forces of energy. This would make it one of the most efficient methods of energy gathering ever!
Ryu even says himself during SF3ā¦
*
āThe ultimate form of wave motion attackā¦Shinkuuā¦the power of vacuum energy!ā*
Through the Power of Nothingness Gouken has developed a way to tap into free energy, and Ryu is the most proficient user.
Hello everyone, this is my first post but I have a theory. (Not SFV related though). Maybe MvC3 takes place post 3s? Many of Ryuās normals are similar to his street fighter counterpart, but his super moves are super powered. Maybe this is the aftermath of his training post 3s. Akuma, Crimson Viper, and Chun-Li donāt seem to different but Ryu got crazy powerful. Also, maybe his Hado Mode from MVC3 (I donāt know if thatās the exact name) is an evolved form of his Denjin mode (also donāt know the actual name) from SFV? What does everyone think of this theory?
