…I think I love you mang, I’m gonna give you a hug that lasts just a little too long.
At first I was fine with the SF5 art I saw, but this picture really doesn’t do it for me. I’m just really bothered by the claws and necks. I’m trying to be positive, but it’s…just not working here.
Agreed, that’s definitely a way to keep her connected to the series now that SIN seems to be dead. Also, shameless plug, that’s why I made this ages ago. Amazing Viper sprites by the brilliant FeLo_Llop: https://vine.co/v/erdtvOKUJQP
edit:
One thing I’m curious about is who Nash sees after looking at Guile’s photo. He looks really, really surprised.
Something caught my eye about the scene showing the weapons impact points. I assume that the areas in the red zone would suffer some sort of devastation directly or collaterally. I find it odd that pretty much every continent falls somewhere in this red zone with the exception of Australia.
I just thought of that too, New Zealand is just South East of Australia. Nothing below Australia’s northern edge seems to be influenced by Bison’s weapons. Central and Southern Africa also seem to be safe zones. So if you’re looking for sanctuary during the wrath of Shadaloo you know who to look for.
Ono : Bengus Capcom knows you amazing artist so we would like you do to artwork for Street Fighter 5
Bengus : will I be getting paid for this.
Ono: yes
Bengus : okay I’m in
Ono: that’s great ! okay you being doing multiple artwork for 16 characters and promotional artwork . oh and the deadline is Feb 16 2016 so no pressure.
Bengus: can I have more time there’s no way I can make amazing art in such timeframe .
ono : nope , Capcom has spoken!
after the artwork is finish
Ono: ah Bengus I expected better from you.
Bengus : what did you expect art takes time you guys rush me!
Ono: but you’re the legendary Bengus!
Bengus: hey I’m not some miracle worker I’m just artist! this stuff takes time I can’t just shit gold . it doesn’t work that way! now where’s my damn money!
Ono here you go
gives Bengus, Bison bucks
Bengus: is this some kind of joke I want real money!
I dunno… with the choice of colors and shading I think it’s more similar to this one:
Can’t find the one with all the SFA3 characters so this is the best I could find.
I think I’min the minority who thinks the artstyle is alright… there’s definitely some stinkers there like the picture with Vega but overall I don’t think they are that bad…
I thought about it more, and now I think SF3 starts about 4 months after the events of SF5 to match the prophecy.
Gill’s tournament was all about offering the people of Earth salvation, and that was his first appearance on the scene. They won’t canonically break from this by having Gill actually be the person who puts an the end of the devastation. The prophecy makes no mention of this actually, the devastation must and will happen any way. But there will be 130 days of ‘nothingness’ afterwards before Gill comes.
Now I am thinking, what if Gill doesn’t want to take out Bison and instead wants to stop the heroes from stopping Bison. At least long enough for the prophecy to unfold. What if Gill wants to make sure Bison’s plans go ahead because he sees them as inevitable, as destiny, and are meant to herald his arrival which has been foretold for thousands of years. How will Gill save the people if there is no great evil from which he saves them?
Bengus most likely drew all the prologues for the 16 characters all by himself going of what we’ve seen. It’s very rough and extremely simplified to cut corners, not because he wanted to, but because he probably had to. This art he did is also a way of advertising himself, so not putting out his best work might hurt him, though he is so well established it doesnt really matter anymore most likely.
Im sorry to say this but do most folks here have blindfolds on? That isnt art you would want to have in your game UNLESS you didnt have a choice. Apparately Capcom thought it was good enough. Some folks here are sucking Bengus his Stylus too hard to recognize these are rough drawings at best. Its a shame tbh, only a glimpse of what the man can actually do.
