So I and all the other people who believed in capcom’s story mode was right! We knew the bengus artwork was gonna be a part of story mode. I thought it was going to show like character flashbacks and stuff, and for the most part (but not 100% entirely) I was right. I am actually really excited that the comic art work will be used for character stories. I actually think that it’s a smart choice both financially and artistically. Love how we get to see the TRUE CANONICAL events of what happens not only for the characters story, but for the main story as well.
And speaking of the main story, anyone else got a monster boner from watching that glorious cinematic SFV story? Oh my god it looks beautiful! No dialogue, but already, you get a wavering idea of the plot, who’s involved, and so much more. So glad that they are taking a rather different approach to story mode. Being that they are telling the story multiple ways. Characters: where you choose ONE character and you progress through their history, their motivations, and not to mention learn to play as them as well. And the main story: where you progress through a narrative where you play everyone involved (ala MKX style)
Does anyone else getting the vibe that Necalli is Bison’s creation? I got the feeling that Bison finally did get to hardness Ryu’s Satsui no Hado and created Necalli. The anti-Ryu.
More than that, most people don’t know or care for the story of SF3 to go beyond it. If Capcom are to continue SF’s story beyond 3, you can bet that it will include more non-SF3 characters than SF3 characters.
Capcom are doing the right thing by developing their intellectual property like this. I am sure SF6 in 7-8 years will be after SF3.
Bison could’ve awakened Necalli or be pulling his strings but I don’t see him as his creation. Bison’s creations tend to be more rigid, robotic, and modern, Necalli is an animal.
So, we finally get the best of both worlds! Individual storylines to flesh out each character, in GLORIOUS (yes, I love it) Bengus artwork, and then a cohesive story mode in full (glorious, too!) cinematics, controlling each time the character that fits the narration at the moment. I really, really dig it.
I said before that a MKX-esque narrative would leave me a bit thirsty for the characters that could not get their turn in the narration, but with the individual storylines to quench that thirst, I’m more than happy with the cinematic, cohesive approach. Hurray!
I don’t think Bison outright created Necalli, but it certainly looks like he’s utilizing him as a secret weapon. My guess is that Necalli is going to end up overpowering Bison, swallowing his soul, and becoming super powerful. It would explain Bison’s absence in III.
Just realized it looks like Ken and Laura fighting in Brazil. That’s pretty awesome. So we might get some Sean lead-in retcon, where he gets blown away by his spectacular fighting.
I do wonder if Rashid is like the anti-Viper, where first he seems good but then he becomes a bad guy.
Hopefully wrestling ring is a real stage.
Wonder if that relic in the beginning is how they awaken Necalli, like a Pillar Man. With Ryu seeing those visions I got this whole Apocalypse vibe. Chills!
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Just stop.
Yeah that Sun symbol really struck me as strange. This could be the reason why Necalli or even someone like Ingrid get involved…
Other stuff:
Is it Boxer in the control room in a Shadaloo uniform (can’t recognize him without his gloves)? He doesn’t seem happy with what’s going on.
The last scene with Nash, someone approached him it seems and he’s surprised. Guile?
What the fuck is the Death Ball? There seems to be several of them. Are they powered by the Sun or Psycho Power? Are they the end result of the BLECE project which intended on creating chi-bombs?
The apocalypse is clearly coming. WHERE THE FUCK IS ROSE?!
