Hey someone mentioned going from street rat to rich guy…and you better believe the Illuminati/Shadaloo would be interested in a genie! Plus, Robin Williams deserves being immortalized further with a Street Fighter character homage Also it might explain the inconsistent gender pronoun usage between various translations if the genie is genderless
If I had to guess, it involves Urien/Illuminati. In both 2I and 3S, Urien’s stages were ancient ruins. He seems like the type to awaken Necalli. It could also be Bison related; if he’s planning his “grandest scheme yet” I can see him either awakening an Aztec warrior or amassing enough power to disturb Necalli’s slumber.
So UDON’s “Street Fighter Unlimited #2” came out today. Reading through it…
Spoiler
The comic opens with Gill talking about the Secret Society’s prophecy and how he’s the savior of man. Guile teams up with Ken to confront Balrog, who now leads a fairly large company formed from half the remains of Shadowloo. Cammy says that they captured Necro after the events of an earlier comic, but he escaped in transit (more on that later). Ken and Guile enter Balrog’s office, and he is seen in a suit vaguely resembling his SF4 suit costume minus the gloves (fedora is on his desk, nice touch imo). Ken buys out all of Balrog’s subsidiaries, initiating a fight. Balrog drops a cage from the ceiling (lolwut) on Guile, making the fight between Ken and Balrog. Ken eventually kicks Balrog out of a window (they’re on the top floor, and Ken forgot that), but Cammy catches Balrog. Balrog reveals that the Secret Society uses both his and Vega’s corporations to launder money. Since Guile and Cammy are still trying to find a missing Chun-Li, Balrog suggests they investigate Vega instead.
In the bonus comic, Necro is seen in a transit van after his capture. Effie appears in the road, and stops the van by standing in the way, crumpling it as if she were a lamp post (so she’s a mutant I guess?). This allows Necro to escape and take out the guards. It is revealed that Urien sent Effie to retrieve Necro, and they speed off on a motorcycle like in his 2I ending.
Interesting stuff. But, I am starting to notice that this comic is diverging from anything that could be in SFV. May still be a hint that we could see Necro in Season 2, given how he figures into this.
Just read the comic this morning (read it online via comixology).

First off, the cover art is very misleading. It shows Balrog fighting Guile, but it was ken that ended up fighting Balrog. (Say what?) Hoping that Guile, Cammy (and eventually Abel) find Chun-Li. I was disappointed I have to wait another month to ready about my favorite character, not to mention that out of two issues, she’s only been in one panel (important, but I just want more Chunners.)
I wouldn’t take anything that SF Unlimited is trying to portray too seriously. After all, the comics have no canonical legitimacy to them. Udon is just trying to tell their own story of SF. I’m enjoying it, (wish there is more Chun-Li , which we’ll get next issue). But i’m not thinking any info found in the comics could relate to the SFV sotry. Except maybe that there is possible Illuminati characters and a potential plot that relates to Charlie. That’s the only one I can sort of see a connection to
I would like to know the story justification for Cammy not having a complete military uniform. A girl can’t hate pants that much. Wear a skirt at least.
Where’s Nash? Also, Karin’s is probably the simplest yet the most effective in terms of conveying the message of an elegant lady. Her and Rashid’s are probably my fave in the bunch. R. Mika’s is disappointing. Holding my breath for my man Nash.
