In the case of Bison, a crutch is an understatement. You have all the the top fighters in the SF universe training and getting stronger. Bison has become all but reliant on his technology. He’s to the point where he doesn’t care if he takes an L because he can just hop to another body. Back up bodies went from a emergency back up plan to a change of clothes. Instead of getting off his ass and pushing himself to his limits so he can handle Psycho Power. He’s trying to find a body that can do it for him. It’s lame. I mean fucking Karin is putting in work even though she has the resources to pull some lazy Bison technology crutch bullshit.
I agree. Bison is very much like Doktor Doom - a hybrid of innate abilities, genius, sorcery and technology that he developed initially to amplify his power.
Why is this concept acceptable for Doktor Doom and not for Bison?
Bison is not Doctor Doom. Bison has scientist doing the work for him. He’s not doing it himself. He’s not even responsible for the Dolls anymore, F.A.N.G is.
Bison’s already mastered psycho power. He just needs the right body to hold it all in. Then there’s his arrogance of “why train? I’m better then everyone else already anyway.” Plus he’s a master of planning, always has a backup plan in case things go wrong. You could argue this with akuma that he relies on the SNH to see him through. Hell you could argue that with any kind of power or whatever.
It’s no different if Bison did it all magically. Just swap out technology for magic.
If you really think he had no hand in his own technology and that belief works for you, carry on.
It has never been conclusively addressed whether or not he designs any of his own shit.
The guys a Skunkworks that design the shit don’t waste their time building it and operating it. They get peons to do that.
That is how I view Bison.
And @“Darc Requiem” - let’s just agree to disagree, I understand that you and @DarthEnder believe you guys own the subjects of SF storylines and characters, you’ve both had it out for me since the old Unity days.
Akuma and Bison are not comparable. Akuma reached his the supposed limit of his body and his art. He kept pushing himself and getting stronger. His literally done what no man before him has. He didn’t get complacent. Akuma continues to push himself further. Ryu has the same physical potential but he lacks the mental fortitude to even tap into the Satsui No Hado and maintain control. That in and of itself shows what type of martial arts master Akuma. Even when you look at what Gouken accomplished. He didn’t like the Satsui No Hado. He wanted to be a master be wanted to find another way. He found another way to gather great strength and mastered Mu no Hado.
Bison reached the limits of his body. He didn’t push past those limits. He started relying on technology. He’s not even doing that work himself anymore. He’s delegating that to others. What Bison has accomplished is impressive, but it continually diminishes his value as a fighter. In game series about the best of martial artists in the world fighting amongst themselves to see who is the best. Bison’s path diminishes him. He’s the guy that takes a cab in the middle of the marathon to cross the finish line first.
That’s bison for you. He’s a world conqueror. The “prove to be the greatest martial artist” is kinda an old thing with him. He doesn’t seem to care. Akuma has that role anyways which…he barely does anything to begin with…but I won’t get into that this is about bison.
Bison, he’s got the skills, he’s got the resources, he’s got an organization. He wants to rule the world like any evil man would. The days of the martial artist is well past him like I said already. Again this is all chalked up to his arrogance. That’s who he is.
I’m usually about the LOLs but you can carry that attitude back to Unity. I stopped posted there to get way from this sort of nonsense. Since you brought up Darth, he and I completely disagree on weapon users in Street Fighter. We disagreed at Unity. We disagree here. Never told him to fuck off though. I stated my case. He states his case. That’s that. Grow up dude.
FANG is working with Urien to bring down Bison and Shadaloo by infecting Necalli’s body with a special poison Urien gave him for when Bison merges with Necalli. (Doesn’t kill him, just weakens him)
Urien then sends Nash to finish Bison while intentionally making Bison infect Nash to kill him and remove him (as he now served his purpose)
Urien turns to FANG and says “you performed your mission perfectly…” then FANG is grappled by someone from behind, “however, just like Nash, your usefulness is at an end” SNAP! FANG is killed by Urien’s new agent.
“Excellent timing, Miss Han…”
Urien then calls his brother and ends the story with “everything has gone according to plan, brother…”
It’s cool. People who got their ass handed to them by CPU controlled final boss Bison in the World Warrior or C.E. it H.F. still hold a grudge. They’re just butthurt that Dictator is getting so much of the limelight in SFV.
But don’t worry, we’ll soon be back to complaining about how un-martial-arts-trope Gill is once he’s back in the spotlight again.
Oh I know, some people will only be pleased with the dude from the end of Enter the Dragon or some shit as a SF baddie.
Street Fighter has always been about a bunch of fucking superheroes, just more in the vein of Fist of the North Star because, well, Japan, then, well X-MEN, because, well, not originally an influence for the designers of SFII.
Street Fighter (1987) was the closest we will ever have to this imaginary martial arts trope only bullshit that gets bandied about around here by the same offenders.
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior threw that shit the fuck out the window with Dhalsim, Bison and especially Blanka.
And it was more interesting and successful arguably because of it.
@FengShuiEnergy and I are just giving each other shit. I don’t take it personal. He doesn’t it personal. It’s what we do. @Daemos will hammer me for smack talking Bison. One of use will make funny post. People will laugh. @bakfromon will translate something that gives insight in SF Lore. We’ll debate the information. @Shockdingo will say something insightful. @Caio_Lins will post high quality CFN portal images without the backgrounds. @DarthEnder will collect the pics and…I don’t know guys what else am I missing?
