…what? no they’re not. Athena is apparently a descendant of a Goddess (I have no idea what Pantheon) and is a gifted psychic but a trained martial artist (The ol’ drunk fella on her team? He trained her) and as powerful as she may be, she’s not some all powerful Goddess and nothing’s shown her to be immortal or even on par with the higher tier forces of KoF. You’re really reaching on this.

And Athena dresses like a cosplayer because she’s literally an pop star. That’s her main profession. It’s why she’s always changing her look and her face is plastered on posters everywhere in-universe.

I agree with that, though what I meant all this time is that Athena fits with KOF, that’s why I think the basis of comparison with Ingrid is unfair, despite all stereotypes which both share. Ingrid is too “glitter” to SF standards.

I only added my one line post because in a 5 minute read of Athena I came to the conclusion that Athena was a much better fit for SF than Ingrid was.

She has spent most of her life secluded in China’s mountains training. By this time in the series, Athena becomes a famous pop-star who is rising the charts with her concerts. She treasures her fans and those who are helpless and strives to do her best to fight for them.

Lets say CFJ (and even SFA3max) Ingrid is more Princess Athena (the bikini clad goddess) while a SFV Ingrid was loosely based from the text above.

Your looking at…
an isolated childhood (to hide her from Bison?),
potential high school SF friends (all exchange students know Sakura),
an above average martial arts background,
an excuse for waifu fan service, and celebrity connections.

and perhaps…
a motive to keep her fighting prowess a secret,
Dan could be a fan of her music,
easy ties to Japan, China, Rose, Bison, Dhalsim

Being an avatar or invoker for a goddess of psycho power would make for a better soul soldier Ingrid.

I still like that Scandinavian sun clan origin someone had in this thread better though.

“Several times” is not just once (2 or more). I always thought his Alpha 3 Ending didn’t happen and he couldn’t find her back then (since T.Hawk mentioned he couldn’t find her in his SSF4 Prologue).

Unless she got her memories back while working within Shadaloo a few times…

I wouldn’t think too much into really. Capcom obviously hasn’t til now. The main points they’ve decided to reference are:

• Juli may have been deeply associated with a tribe in the past (Thunderfoot)

• She went to study the world abroad so that’s probably how she’s associated with the “tribe”

• Her memory is affected to the point where her date of birth and country of origin may be unknown to herself.

• Her memory has been wiped clean several times. So she was more than likely escaped and recaptured twice at most.

Fun fact: Her favorite food is the avocado which is a fruit native to Mexico and South America so imo that’s another tongue and cheek reference to where her travels may have taken her.

Like I’ve been saying before about Alpha 3 at this point it’s really ambiguous. Some form of events from it definitely took place, but Capcom seems to been pick and choosing what is and isn’t canon from that game more so than the others. So maybe Hawk could’ve caught up to her and failed to rescue her twice.
