Her Alpha 3 interactions and story are most likely not canon (so is much of that game for that matter), but she is a Street Fighter character (sadly) according to Capcom.

I don’t understand why people hate Ingrid so much. She is canonical. So yes, the strongest SF character is female. She’s a goddess. Hardly anyone can beat her. Well, Necalli is a god too. So maybe, he can. I would say Ingrid would take out Necalli though. So I’m putting Necalli as 2nd strongest character next to only Ingrid. I’m interested in hearing what anyone else has to say about Ingrid vs. Necalli.

Akuma never became Oni in the story. Therefore, Oni isn’t canon, but he’s at least a possibility. Ingrid hasn’t had any impact on anything canon in the Street Fighter series ever.
As for why people hate her, there are a lot of reasons.

1. She’s stupidly powerful and her design doesn’t fit it. Necalli looks like a powerful being. Bison looks like a powerful being. Ingrid looks like an albino Karin.
2. She’s a Mary-Sue whose power, if canon, would make Bison seem weak, because of her claims that Bison “stole his power from her” or some shit like that. Saying that is canon would completely derail Bison as the main antagonist of the series.
3. SHE LOOKS LIKE A FUCKING ARCANA HEARTS CHARACTER, NOT A STREET FIGHTER CHARACTER

Ingrid does not fit Street Fighter in the least. Street Fighter’s character design is like a more diverse Dragon Ball Z with more emphasis on human characters and not aliens. You have your human characters of all shapes and sizes, with the occasional weird character that is the product of something scientific (Like Twelve, Necro, and maybe Q) or mystical (Necalli, Rose).
Having Ingrid in Street Fighter is like sticking Cardcaptor Sakura in the middle of everything. It doesn’t fit and it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Hmm…well, I suppose she is non-canon then, given the evidence. I just thought she was canonical, because she was included in the SOTA license to make Street Fighter toys. I guess that doesn’t mean anything though.

why is a ninja chick ibuki able to beat ryu? ryu is better than ibuki in everyway.

bison is too strong for fodder. game play needs to support story to back up character powers. bison should never lose to nash or chun li. ryu should never lose to anyone except akuma or oro. ibuki, cammy, laura, mika, karin, dan, dhalsim, are strong but they should not beat protagonist. that is not how story should go. i just want things done right

I find her design fine, her moveset would have to be redesigned, and of course, her storyline retconned but I dont think Capcom would even bother going through that much work. They’ll keep her as a tease and probably throw her in the Tekken X SF whenever that comes out.
