Ingrid isn’t canon. Her only interactions with anyone in the series are deemed non-canon, therefore she has done nothing throughout the series. She’s even less canon than Oni is. Yes, Oni is included in the guides as well, and he’s a possibility of what would happen if Akuma let the Satsui No Hado consume him, but that doesn’t make Oni canon. Akuma never became Oni in the story. Therefore, Oni isn’t canon, but he’s at least a possibility. Ingrid hasn’t had any impact on anything canon in the Street Fighter series ever.
As for why people hate her, there are a lot of reasons.
- She’s stupidly powerful and her design doesn’t fit it. Necalli looks like a powerful being. Bison looks like a powerful being. Ingrid looks like an albino Karin.
- She’s a Mary-Sue whose power, if canon, would make Bison seem weak, because of her claims that Bison “stole his power from her” or some shit like that. Saying that is canon would completely derail Bison as the main antagonist of the series.
- SHE LOOKS LIKE A FUCKING ARCANA HEARTS CHARACTER, NOT A STREET FIGHTER CHARACTER

Ingrid does not fit Street Fighter in the least. Street Fighter’s character design is like a more diverse Dragon Ball Z with more emphasis on human characters and not aliens. You have your human characters of all shapes and sizes, with the occasional weird character that is the product of something scientific (Like Twelve, Necro, and maybe Q) or mystical (Necalli, Rose).
Having Ingrid in Street Fighter is like sticking Cardcaptor Sakura in the middle of everything. It doesn’t fit and it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Gill’s not REALLY a god. He’s just a powerful guy with a god complex. And even if Gill was a god, he at least looks and acts convincingly godlike. Ingrid dresses like a schoolgirl, throws sparkles around, tickles her opponents when they’re down, and occasionally wears this.

Blade, Khyber, F7, Arkane, Sawada and Cyborg… isn’t canon too… much more than Ingrid (allegedly by fans who work at Capcom) and now? I prefer to wait to see if it will appear on the site, I think so, because Kyosuke could have entered as a guest in SFA3 but not entered, your sprite was ready, but Ingrid came … she is Canon or not, remains a character with their rights within the SF series.

I hate her as a Street Fighter character design. If she were in another game where her design would fit better, I’d say “Whatever, I don’t buy weeb games anyway. Well, except for J-Stars, which I only got on sale because Bo-BoBo’s in it.”
