So out of all the SSF4 endings. Which ones would you consider non-canon? Some of them obviously conflict with each other. While others are just comedy/joke endings like say Hugo or something.
In the realm of Street Fighter, weapon users are inherently inferior fighters. They are dependent on an object to make them great. They have a crutch that can be taken away from them.
Because Juri’s ending follows Bison’s, so the idea that she beat or can beat Seth alone isn’t true.
The only reason I would think she may be able to beat Seth is how effortlessly she shut down the human incubators in Bison’s SSF4’s ending. But those were empty husks, puppets, they probably did not have the data or power that Seth was able to be muster from his position as CEO.
Juri was able to treat Cammy, Guile, and Chun-Li like rag dolls, and take on all actual dolls simultaneously. This puts her in the upper echelons almost automatically. But Seth was also able to make a rag doll out of Ryu (for the most part), so he could can probably take on Cammy, Guile, and Chun just as much. Seth’s potential power far surpasses Juri’s because his data recorder hypothetically would make him adapt to Juri and ultimately mimic her in a true fight. Seth can also generate vacuums in space, like miniature blackholes - this isn’t a feat that one should take lightly.
Also the fact that Seth’s body was intended to be a host for Bison’s insatiable soul should tell us that Seth has the potential to become very powerful and the Tanden Engine can manifest that destiny for him if given the required data.
That both endings most likely didn’t happen simultaneously. Seth talks about anticipating Juri’s portrayal, and she says defeating Seth was just an “added bonus” to her original plan. Based on everything Seth says to Juri, it wouldn’t make sense for the ending to follow Bison’s because we know Bison took Seth out alone in his ending. Juri defeated Seth in her ending according to what she said.
Not necessarily. If Juri’s ending happened, then Bison had nothing to do with Seth’s demise. If Bison’s ending happened, Juri takes on Bison immediately after he’s finished with Seth. Juri and Bison are both fine by V, so we’re left to come up with a scenario of what took place. I don’t believe there’s anything that says which ending took place or not, so that could honestly go either way. I personally like the idea of Juri’s ending taking place because it goes along with what (taking over S.I.N.) she wanted, which is also carried over to V.
The only thing I recall being said about #15 is that he developed his own sense of thought compared to the others. They’re probably all equal in power, but he’s probably a more complete fighter.
That depends if you take the TTTB battle over what was portrayed in SF4. In Ryu’s ending, Seth vanished after losing to Ryu, while he was seemingly okay after taking a full-strength Hadouken to the face in the OVA. Even taking that battle into consideration, Juri is still more than enough to stand up to Bison in SF4. If you count her rival battle, she’s quick enough to dodge his sneak attack before he fully appears, along with believing her eye gives her enough power to take on Bison. Highly unlikely that she couldn’t handle Seth under her own power if she’s attempting to take on Bison.
I can agree that Seth would have to have great potential to be a Bison body, but the same could be said about any body Bison has his eyes on.
Well, potential is one thing, but that still requires time for him to assimilate the data. If Juri takes him out quick enough, his Tanden is all for naught. Bison basically calls Seth a shit creation in his win quote, implying he’s really nothing special at the end of the day.
It’s not always up to someone to decide what martial art they end up with. Makoto certainly didn’t choose Karate. It’s her family’s style. If someone is trained in kenjutsu, it may be because it was chosen for them, not because they were weak and wanted an advantage. I’m not going to say they aren’t a martial artist because they have a sword.
Ultimately, I don’t consider the sword any different than the hadoken. They both require martial arts training and skill to use. Guns and grenades and whatever Viper uses don’t. They still require training, but it’s not martial arts training.
I can’t remember who suggested it, but I really hope we get a season 2 story that covers past events. The story could be rewritten to some extent, somewhat like MK9. Even the current roster (including the DLC) would convey the story really well. We’d need Sagat for sure, though.
I bring this up because there’s no way A Shadow Falls is gonna answer these debates.
Yes but this isn’t a gameplay thread. Ryu can’t drop his Hadoken on the ground nor can some random person pick up his Hadoken and use it against him. Weapons aren’t the same techniques. While they are can require skill to use they are still objects, independent of the fighter, being wielded. Techniques like the Hadoken are manifestations of a fighters skill.
