Why the fuck are you guys even replying back to Touchdown? He’s clearly either an alt by someone who’s been laughed at here, or just a troll. Dude sucks Vasilii dick like he’s the sole authority on the street fighter canon simply because of the plot guide authorship.
Is Charlie in SFV a different person than before? Absolutely
Is Charlie playing an anti-hero role in this game? He definitely does
Did he commit something that warranted an arrest by Chun-Li? Perhaps
But is he a coldblooded killer that would go after an innocent woman and a child? Hell no
He’s not that kind of a man, his goal is to avenge his death and deal with Bison, neither Guile nor his family have anything to do with this subplot
Just because Charlie came back to life doesn’t automatically make Guile’s intention meaningless, and don’t forget Guile is still in service for the military and Bison poses a threat to the world. They won’t magically become friends, you know
I don’t think Guile would do such a thing. At best he’d take Charlie out (as in, knock him out, not kill) to stop him and put him in jail of some sorts to prevent him going after Bison. The way the Cinematic Opening for SFV shows Charlie vs Bison - Capcom is sort of implying that both of them will die in their battle, as in Nash will sacrifice himself to stop Bison once and for all (meaning Ryu won’t have anything to do with beating Bison and instead will be busy with defeating Necalli), so this is a reintroduction of Charlie’s Alpha 3 ending in a new canonical way, a “remaster” if you will
Regarding Charlie going WITH Guile to beat Bison…well that is to be seen. It’s probably the thing that excites me the most about the upcoming Cinematic Story, it’s definitely going to be a highlight for me
Charlie could also use Guile as a bait for Bison, as in he knows that Guile and Co. will go out of their ways to find and destroy Bison, meaning Charlie could track the hero team down, follow them, and enter the Lair of the Four Kings, where the battle in the Opening takes place at. You can see that Charlie isn’t battling along everybody else (Cammy, Chun and Ken are kinda on their own there) and then Charlie sees Bison floating up there after using the Psycho Inferno, and teleports towards him. I have a feeling the CG opening is partially redrawn cutscenes from the Cinematic Story
If my theory from a few posts earlier is correct, and Helen indeed works for the Illuminati (but doesn’t present herself as one to avoid possible questions that could spoil the plan and such) - then she will influence Charlie into meeting Guile and possibly killing him. She could tell him something like "Here is a photo of a man that caused your demise. You are not allowed to look at it until you arrive at the Randevous Point - which is the Forgotten Waterfall stage - and when Charlie arrives at the scene, sees Guile, then looks at the picture…shit’s gonna go down
That is besides the fact that Illuminati revived Charlie, gave him new powers and the forehead gem, and are possibly looking into using Charlie to get rid of Bison to prevent the course of their actions to bring humanity to the new age, which is basically Gill’s SF3 3S ending
I don’t think they outright have him under mind control or anything like that, although the gem MIGHT serve as a sort of a tracking device? I don’t know if it can serve such a purpose though
I’m reading this and I just can’t help but think this is exact same way how basically every single interaction between Naruto and Sasuke went down after Sasuke left Konoha in search of power to defeat and kill his brother, Itachi. To the point the Friends (Cammy and Chun or Sakura and Sai) arrive to help Naruto/Guile out
But it’s also a rather realistic way of how their meeting after so many years could go down, after all neither of the two is the same man they both were back in the Alpha days
I can’t exactly blame Charlie for willing to kill Cammy as well because in the days when Charlie was still his old self - Cammy was under Shadaloo’s/Bison’s influence, obviously Charlie doesn’t know what actually happened to her and that Cammy’s not responsible for her past but Bison is, so Charlie by default dismisses Cammy as his enemy and and ally to Shadaloo, even despite it not being true anymore for so many years since she was freed from the brainwashing
But here’s another question - how does Guile KNOW it’s the Illuminati? Unless Capcom is doing their reveal so early in SFV’s life cycle (and not saving this subplot for future Cinematic Stories, if there are any coming down the line, like how they continued SF4’s story with Super SF4) - NOBODY in the entire world knows about their presence somewhere out there, in the shadows.
So Guile, and therefore the US Military, as well as Interpol (and maybe even CIA?) have no idea what is this gem is in the first place. Also notice how even though Nash clearly has some sort of acquaintance with Illuminati - they aren’t shown in his character story either, so the only SFV-related material that outright shows and tells us about them is the The Life and Death of Charlie Nash comic/book, and as far as I’m concerned it currently isn’t acknowledged as canon material by Capcom (although some parts of it do sound kinda cool to be intergrated into the main canon, at least for this game anyway)
Something like “I knew you were alive all along, but that’s not what I expected to see.” or “You’re alive, yet you’re not the Charlie I’ve known for years. Looks like we’ll have a lot to catch up on.” orrrrr “That mercanary [Abel] told me you saved him. You can’t be the monster everyone is making you out to be.” You know, something with more context, not a stupid one-liner everyone else could be saying to each other. Seriously, who’s to say Chun-Li can’t say that exact same thing to Nash?
So the digital copy of the Akuma v Oro issue of UDON’s “Street Fighter Unlimited” came out today. Gill makes the secret society public, and we see Akuma’s ass crack after Oro throws him at a volcano. 3/10 very disappointed.
I was disappointed in the fight between Akuma and Oro. And for the most part, the 5th issue felt slower paced, dealing more with the plot than actual action, but for me, Gill shined the most in this issue. [details=Spoiler]And I love how the heroes Chun-Li, Guile, Cammy, and Alex are starting to feel like they “are fighting on the wrong side of history”. Now that the world seems to see Gill as the second coming of Jesus[/details]
Only SF chars worth being bosses are Bison and Gill
And Sagat for when SF universe was still a small pond
Make full-powered Bison kick his ass too in direct fight, showing that Dictator>ginger shoto if suckerpunches are’nt involved, then we can move on that joke char and he can take his role as creepy Ryu’s stalker uncle
Actually as failure char that did the wrong bet (SNH) will be even an interessing char, will be even fun see post-Oro training Ryu smoke him like “Still that SNH shit? That’s so 90’s bro”… well, the honorable samurai way to say it anyway lol
I don’t like Gill in this issue because he takes the “Secret” out of Secret Society and basks in all the attention like a narcissist. We see Gill shaking hands and taking pictures with various world leaders (FUCKING OBAMA), which kind of lessens his “divine” presence. The right way would have been making all the world leaders come to him-[details=Spoiler]especially since they’re all 12 clones[/details]-on a status of, “beg for my mercy and I shall favor your people”. The TED talks knockoff was kind of silly.
That’s my main problem with this issue: it takes silly ways to progress a serious plot.
