Not necessarily. Akuma appearing in the game is optional. Only if you fight well enough does he appear. So, from a story point of view, it could be said that he would have appeared if the finalist had been worthy, but didn’t because he wasn’t worthy.

But all this is moot anyway because:

Yes, in SSF2T, Akuma killing Bison was definitely canon. That was Bison’s final fate in pre-SF4 canon. But SF4 merged the stories of SFA3 and SF2 into one event. So, in the SF4 continuity, we don’t have any SF2 game anymore that’s the canon version. The events of SF2 only exist as flashback cutscenes anymore and they are vastly different from the SF2 of the old canon. In the new canon, Akuma killing Bison was scrapped in favor of a scene that combines the tournament arc of SF2 with the explosion ending of SFA3.

Yeah, the video doesn’t show that the director of final fight said Poison is a woman. And the only reason she was changed to a man was because of fear of being sued for violence against women.

The reason it’s not in the video is because it’s not true. You don’t even have to go past the first 3 minutes of that video to see that that’s not true. Poison is labeled as a transvestite in her earliest existing concept art. She was never “changed to a man” because she’s been a man since the game’s original Japanese arcade release, and has never not been a man in Japan.

Indeed. Specifically, Joss Whedon wrote the script for the movie, but changes to it were made. The TV show treats his original script, rather than the movie, as canon.

For how i see it the they never meet is kinda weak, probably they want do it to keep some ultimate badass aura for Bison as boss

Imho they should just go for the Akuma suckerSGSpunched Bison in SSF2T version and call it a day

That will not reduce Bison status as Boss:
-SSF2T was not his most powerful version anyway (is probably SFV or SFA)
-suckerpunch KTFO is not as legit as a fair fight
-even at not at his best shape, he still survived the suckerSGS and returned to fight sooner than Gouken

I kinda thought that somehow akuma has no interest in facing or giving attentions to dictator as worthy opponent unless dictator would come after Ryu which was the SFA3 era but it was sagat and sakura that set ryu free already…

I always think also that Akuma is so confident that the power of satsu no hadou, which he believe to be the most powerful among all powers that exist in the SF universe by his knowing, Thats why he afters Ryu rather than those that he knows already. He doesn’t have interest on fighting, bothered or threatened with Gen, Gill and Oro. It’s like he wants ryu to succomb into satsu no hadou for him to be killed by it same as what Gen feel towards him, like yusuke urameshi and toguro of yuyu hakusho… or he wants ryu to be his apprentice of satsu no hadou practice… unless he want the body of ryu like dictator does or orochimaru towards saske

This is pretty cool. Delta Red’s always been in the background, but I’m glad we finally know something. A couple things stick out to me;

Wolfman fought a SPANISH FIGHTER?! Hmm, does that mean he fought Vega? If so, I wonder when? Are they going to go into some detail of when Cammy was delivered to their door step? With the new SF2+SFA3 merge, I’m curious how different her escape was.

I’ve liked Lita’s style for a while and was hoping she would have been the 5th Ultra character. I love that she’s got a foul mouth. Does the bolded mean she has a sad history so people misunderstand her? Did something cause her tragedy so she covers it up with bold brashness?

Always dug McCoy, it’s interesting they redesigned him to be black (now if I get in shape I can cosplay him!) but what I find interesting is his new position. At first he used to be the mechanic, but I like that he’s got a more active combat role as well.

I’m assuming Wolfman may have fought Vega in the past and receives a scar like how Cammy receives hers. Lita’s personality seems to just be brash for no reason. We can assume she suffered a tragedy, but since she’s not very open to details I guess we’ll never know. McCoy makes sense as the team muscle and fire arms specialist, he’s like Delta Red’s version of DC comics Cyborg , a weapons specialist/ mechanic cyborg guy. Ginzu’s robot is just named Oracle, the “kun” is just another one of those Japanese terms of respect they tag on the end of a name, *ie “chan” or “san”. Although “kun” is used by a superior (Ginzu) to address an inferior (Oracle). The alien part is specifically the opinion of the “Shadaloo soldier writing the entry”

The general gist of the story was that they sent back a memo stating “You can’t hit girls” in the game. The reply was “That’s okay, there are no girl enemies” from Capcom-JP. So they sent back a picture of Poison/Roxy with an arrow pointing to her and “Girl”. Capcom-JP replied with the same picture back with “Not a girl” and an arrow. So they just went ahead and did their edits to the game themselves because of the communication difficulty.

I’m guessing Ratman is supposed to be a SF parody of Batman, but there is a real Ratman manga.

I have an idea for SF6/SF7: 15-20 years after SF3TS, a young martial artist sets out on his own journey to become the best. His name is Mel Masters, son of the former US MMA champion Ken Masters (Alex will will likely be the reigning champ at this time). Knowing that he can only teach so much to Mel about Anatsuken, Ken tells his son to seek out Ryu to continue his training. Elsewhere, an old threat begins to reassert itself under a new leader: Shadowloo.

Major characters:
-Mel Masters: The son of Ken, Mel uses a fairly traditional form of his father’s style. He would be the game’s “standard” shoto.
-Alex: Fully realizing his potential, Alex goes on to dominate tournaments both in the US and abroad. He is also searching for Ryu, hoping to defeat him in a rematch. Alex would be the main grappler for this game.
-Chun Li: Hearing rumors of a new Shadowloo, Chun Li sets out once more to destroy the organization with her legendary legs. She is a martial arts instructor, and dresses in plainer clothes than her previous versions. She is also significantly older, and the first female grandmaster for the series.
Minor characters:
-Yun: In order to protect his community fully, Yun joins the local Triad gang and quickly rises through the ranks due to his immense power. He rules as a sort of Robin Hood type hero, only taking from the corrupt and unjust. Hearing rumors of Shadowloo, he begins tracking the organization.
-Yang: Contrary to his brother, Yang joins Interpol, eventually making it to the same position Chun Li once held. The twins butt heads frequently over their differing approaches to protecting the community, but ultimately share the same intent. Yang is seeking Shadowloo for an Interpol assignment.
Bosses:
-E. Bison: Ed has fully inherited the organization Shadowloo after M. Bison’s downfall. “Bison” is not a name, but a title. He now wields Psycho Power with devastating efficiency, and is quickly approaching his predecessor’s power.
-Ryu: Ryu has finally found respite from the Satsui No Hado. Under special conditions, he appears as a secret boss. This version of Ryu is old and borrows heavily from Gouken.

There would obviously be more characters, but that’s the part that stands out to me.

He defeated his brother Gouken, and continues to walk the road of the Shura. The ultimate thing he seeks is a “Death meet”, he’s expressed interest in the presence of the Necalli.

Gonna have to look up what that means.

I can see it now, Gouki’s story in SSV will be showing up looking to fight Necalli.
