Yes that picture is of a generic Shadaloo soldier, Abel’s bio on his page specifically says he infiltrated the based and was injured doing so.
Also Google translate isn’t bad it’s just you need to tweak the wording sometimes. “Conspicuous of Rashid” I think it just means he stands out from him (like in a crowd because he’s like 7’ tall). It seems they were once both born in a noble Middle Eastern village, which is now defunct so I guess they’ve been exiled like T. Hawk.
Actually, there really isn’t anything interesting or new about his bio, in fact it basically implies he’s still missing (like Go Hibiki’s still implies he’s dead and Goutetsu is still hit with SGS) and “Claw” (Vega/ Balrog) may have some connection. He has stats, but that’s about the only think really “interestingly new”

The continent of Australia in Japanese is known as “Goushuu” and can be written in kanji as such; “豪州” (“Magnificent/Bold” - Continent), and can be abbreviated into “豪”. Since Gouki’s name uses the first part of the kanji for Australia (豪鬼), Google translate see’s this as “Australian Demon”, but you would actually read as (“Magnificent/Bold” - Demon "Remember the kana spelling of Gouki’s name translates to "Fortitude “ゴウキ” ). In fact, since his SF3SI ending has him in Australia I think there may be some symbolic connection with the kanji in his name, but I doubt he’s a representative.
Since a lot of this material seems to be pretty much canon at this point, I thought maybe we could use some of it for our upcoming guide. Since this information is available for people to freely translate if anyone would like to contribute with some of the entries feel free to do so, and if there’s any sketchy or unresolved parts you happen to come across, feel free to share and we’ll discuss them to make them more accurate(like the Rashid and Azam entry). I’ve gone over all of them and I’ll go over a handful at a time, but I’d like this to be a community effort so if anyone would like to translate (Google/Bing or whatever) feel free and if theirs any confusion in how the sentence flow (there will be), or word usage bring it up. Otherwise if you feel up to the task it’s pretty simple copy and paste info. For example
(The top and last lines are usually reserved for an intro and conclusion by the writer and usually has no relevance to the bio. Although, if you’re interested to know what they say feel free as some yield interesting notes by the writer.)
Simple as that. Interject as much as you want just as long as you stick to the general idea of whats being presented. If not I’ll get to these bios at a sluggish pace, but I will get them accomplished none the less.
IS Don just a random fight announcer, or are we actually seeing the various game’s announcers being canonized? Cause I would love it if he was retroactively made the announcer for the SF series (the Alpha 3 announcer’s personality fits with this look). Also, does he look like Jimmy Heart to anyone else, or am I crazy?
Hmm, about the video, initially I intended it as a rough concept, but I think it looks pretty good overall on its own. I’ll add some music and sfx to this and I think I’ll post it around with the link to Doctrine Dark and bakfromon’s 2016 Plot Translation guide.
Immediately thought of Jimmy Hart as well. Love everything about him.
The video is super impressive. Like…straight-up Capcom would do well just to adopt this sort of thing to communicate info to fans. Not blowing smoke up your ass…it’s that solid of a vid. Also, great narration voice.
EDIT:
Wanted to add that at 6:05…the newspaper on the wall says “ROBODEKA-Q”…anyone have any thoughts on that? Robot Detective? No idea on this one personally but it seems…relevant.
or maybe the cyborg guy/armored guy must be the one in the fang sketches… kinda not close to the art… and lets wait how capcom would interpret sawada …
Don Savage is the ring announcer from Giefs storymode. Pretty much anyone that has something to do with SF’s storymode is mentioned in these new bios.
Armored guy is just a scrapped design for a Shadaloo soldier. Monitor Cyborgs are something that Fang’s drawing implies as a part of current Shadaloo. Come to think of it the armor the prototype soldier wears resembles the armor prototype SFV Bison wears
I’m guessing they were trying to keep the design of the Shadaloo’s soldier outfits closer to what Bison looks like. Since Bison reverted to an outfit more similar to the original, so did his grunts.
Hey bakfromon, could you explain something for me real quick? Google translate seems to make the word Tsu come up a lot in translations. Here’s the second paragraph from Sodom’s bio for example:
I’ve been super curious about that for years. That robo detective bit is what makes me think he isn’t causing those murders and crimes, but trying to solve them, lone Batman style.
Back in the old days of Warrior’s Fate, it seemed like there was a date on the photograph (of the titanic?!) too. I wish I could get a hi-res copy of that section of his ending. I was hoping that the 3rd strike online re-release would have had HD redrawn images heh.
If you thought Goutetsu was a short Japanese fighter who fought weaponless, than throw everything you knew about Goutetsu out the window. Dude was over 6 foot tall and fought with a stick. His intro does mention that he conceived all the special techniques (Hado, Shoryu, and Tatsu)
Gen’s student would have been such a great idea. Fuck the guy who scrapped it for the abomination that is Necalli, who is nothing more than Evil Ryu v2.
I like the idea, but why did you use Q for a pilot? I mean, seriously: Some random character from one of the less-popular games?
Not really a good way to introduce people to the storyline because let’s be honest: Who really gives a shit about Q apart from the people who already know much about the lore?
Shouldn’t the first episode be about someone a bit more prominent?
I would have suggested Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Guile, Sagat or M. Bison, i.e. the story-relevant characters from the most popular of the games, SF2.
Yo, our guide is gonna be so packed! There’s already a lot of variety and we’re getting even *more *information. I’m looking forward to seeing it continue to grow. The last time I was this excited was when I designed a Street Fighter website and presented it for my CIS project in college.
Btw, great vid, Shock!! You were made for this type of thing.
Easy. It’s quick and a test. I went in this without any real structure, I wanted to gauge interest and build a team, and I’m trying to get a feel for what people like and don’t like moving forward. I’m not going to put out a vid for someone important like M. Bison and botch it on my first go hah. Q has next to nothing officially and tons of speculation, I’d need at least triple time to cover any of those you mentioned. Ryu being the worst offender – I’d have to cover SF1 to SF4, all the connections, the still debated whether he used the SNH to shoryuken Sagat, get into the entire backstory with the shotos, mention and tease out Gouken and Akuma for the next episodes and all that.
I make a small error on Q, and people can shrug it off. I make a significant error on Ryu and people would want my head.
The thing about all of these bios are the ones that we know are canon. Like Gouken’s for example
(His intro mentions that he is the one who seals himself from the Shoryuken)
All of this doesn’t contradict what was presented in SF4, so should we believe the rest? I feel there’s enough compelling evidence to count these as canon, given the fact they would go out of the way to make them out and release them on a timely basis we happened to just ignore.
O.k., but in this case, you shouldn’t have called it “pilot”, as if it was episode 1. It should have been declared more like a screen test or something.
