Soooooooooooooo…Shadaloo test body 222222… uhhhh, what does this mean? Is he like Abel and Seth or something or is it just some number Fang gave him for this particular experiment? What does it all mean!!!
Really hope the story difficulty is amped for the June update. Completing it without any ounce of resistance from the AI seems so empty and meaningless.
It probably means that he’s an abnormally strong fighter, and that Shadaloo is examining him for his potential as a body for Bison.
You know, like they’re always trying to do with Ryu.
Shadaloo doesn’t just make clones. They also kidnap people to obtain data. Things like this are probably how Seth and the other androids get their moves.
I don’t think this is filler and makes for some interesting future details. @Hawkingbird Actually, as for why they’re returning him, I think it goes like this.
Fang was testing out Alex as another pretty strong fighter for a potential new version of the human incubator project, but once he saw that he whooped and crushed Ryu from years back (notice all the data is outdated) it probably set in motion something horrible for Fang:
-Who ever this guy is, he beat a hardlight clone of Ryu at his alpha level and all he got was a scratch on his face.
-They need to return him home and conduct continued surveillance on him from afar since at his current level is way too unpredictable and strong and this new development makes him a candidate for something else.
As some of you guys pointed out, that chess piece seems to be Fang’s calling card and is leaving it as a “Well done, be stronger, keep moving forward…I’ve changed my focus and have new plans for you”
At least, that’s how I see it.
edit:
I forgot to say, I really, really dig Alex’s voice. It’s got a touch of NYC without being cartoonish, he’s young and brash without sounding way too old or shockingly young.
@Daemos yeah hopefully they build up the difficulty in a later update when they get more breathing room [details=Spoiler]Btw, leaked video shows that he has 3 looks.

*(SFZ entry has his master referred as Goutetsu for some reason. Must be a mistake, as Gouken had been well established as Ryu and Ken’s master during the time of SFZ. The mistake is corrected in the next entry :i_dunno: ).
Pretty unrelated, but I was looking at fightabase just to refresh my memory a bit concerning usf4. The following is kind of confusing me a bit.
Ken win vs. Seth
Why did you resurrect yourself into the same lame body type as last time?
Did the site make a mistake or what? When was Seth resurrecting himself a thing? I figured that was a Bison-only thing at this point in the story.
EDIT: So basically, it’s canon that Dan beat Sagat at some point? I wonder if it’s when Sagat threw the fight in SFA3. Strange that it apparently happened in SFA2’s story, though.
It’s pretty much accepted that Sagat sandbagged his fight against Dan and just let him win. I had always wondered about Ken’s quote to Seth as it implies SSF4 a separate event from SF4 when it’s just an extended story. Imo Ken could’ve witnessed a Seth perish only to fight another one of the copies, which would him confuse him causing him to think the one he had witnessed die having resurrected… or something like that.
Going by both this and the winquotes Cyber posted, it seems his “potential” will play a big role in his story arc across SFV. Also, now that we have a VA and waifu-tier drawings, Alex/Patricia is a 100% viable ship. Dan/Honda/Hakan do not have any spoken dialogue. Alex seemingly eats an entire basket of sandwiches in a minute as if he were Birdie.
Well iirc, Ono said in an interview (with IGN?) that the reason why the first wave of SFV characters were picked as they are now was to offer different play styles, with story mode being a factor behind their inclusion.
So he probably will be in the story mode somehow, though I wouldn’t be surprised if his role in the story mode was minimal compared to roles characters in the base game will have.
Very lazy, typical fillers. Nothing related to the story, nothing at all. Capcom never cease to amaze me with how lazy they’re with their character development and story related stuff. I, a mere fan, can do ten tmes better.
Alex’s story mode has left me with more questions than answers. Usually, that’s a good thing because it gets me to think. But most of these questions in my head were “What the hell just happened” and “why am I supposed to care”.
I felt they could’ve given us a little more information or at least alittle more character development.
