About Bison looking Asian:

The fact alone that you interpret him as Chinese or Vietnamese based on his clothes is a pretty strong indication that he was not declared as coming from Thailand. The uncertainty here only confirms my assumption that his country was unknown.

So, yeah, his home country might have been one of the south-east Asian countries. But was it ever stated that it’s actually Thailand?

Besides, the star is obviously based on the clothes of this guy:

It could also be a Soviet symbol. Or an allusion to the fact that his name Vega is actually the name of a star.

Ironically, the character portrait in the game is the only place where he’s shown with a star. Before he got his skull symbol at the time of “Champion Edition”, the artworks showed him with no symbol on his head at all:

Also, the all-red clothes look more like a coloring error than anything else (remember that Chun Li also had wrong colors in her portrait in “World Warrior”): His sprite and all artworks always show him with the red/blue combination.

Hope this doesn’t make it harder, I put everything into one big picture then blew it up a massive amount. I did two versions, one just increased in size and another where I used a ton of sharpening to try and make the letters more clear in some instances

I would say that is a good indication…but Charlie wakes up in…New Zealand? And is talking to a Russian girl…and then a few days later is casually wandering through India…for no reason at all…which is where Fang, Balrog and Ed all are…for some reason.

First one with Birdie:

There is no reason to assume that Birdie RAN to China, he very well could have taken a flight which is why he has no money left to pay for food, he likely has been running around trying to keep a lowish profile but hasn’t had a chance to collect his things yet, which he’d need. Given his size Birdie can’t just buy stuff off the rack. There is no real timeline given for how long that was between the two scenes IIRC. This is a reasonable explanation IMO.

Nash waking up in new zealand talking to a russian girl is not remotely unreasonable. It’s like waking up in Northern California and talking to a Japanese person… o wait NCR just happened so it’s totally possible. My point is that people don’t need to BE from the country they are in. Especially if the girl has an ulterior motive and was seeking out Nash.

India I got just about nothing I can think of, maybe I should go back and look at those sections of the story again. Probably still be hard to come up with a reasonable explanation for that one. The other two I think you can create a fairly logical series of events.

I need to ask: Are you just viewing the link JUST via imgur or doing right click - view image? Imgur’s built in zoom doesn’t show the picture at max size. I ask because I already blew up each picture by 250% so each picture is 870x1200, the total size of that picture I linked is 2610x3600, that’s pretty big. If you are doing right click - view image and still having trouble with both I’ll blow em up to 400% (1392x1920) which is HUGE and upload them separately. I’ll also try and research some ways to make the text more clear but there isn’t going to be much I can do for an image that small from what I understand, plus I’m not exactly adept at photoshop.

I can’t make out a majority of the characters because of the size and once you zoom into a picture you lose resolution and detail. I’m looking at something like this when I zoom in at just 175%

I even tried tweaking it myself with different highlights and lowlights to see if I can make out some details in the characters. Granted I can make out some like the beginning mentioning about the slums, but a majority just aren’t detailed enough to be legible.

By now, I’m not really sure anymore that the geography has any bearing on the story. These characters casually switch locations as if it’s nothing. So, the storyline writers didn’t even try to come up with some coherence.

Okay, but if he took a flight - from where? Even though there’s little chance FANG/Bison sent goons after Birdie after he jumped off, it’s not like they even paid Birdie at all, we don’t know that. Are Shadaloo members even get paid? I mean they might fund their scientific crew since that’s where the biggest Shadaloo projects come from (Bison bodies, Dolls, Bison Spheres), but what about the rest?

They might as well just recruit the rest of their troops by brainwashing or certain propaganda, which would make sense since Bison is a dictator and the whole Shadaloo thing is basically the Nazi army
Even Shadaloo’s logo somewhat resembles the German National Symbol under Hitler’s rule, with the wings and an object in the middle

Eh, I don’t really buy that. You can’t keep a lowish profile and still wear the uniform from the crime syndicate you’re running away from.

And yet, he apparently does just that, because everything he wears leaves half his body exposed. The jacket that he wears is clearly NOT in his correct size.

He likely got it tailor made or bought it from a specialty store. It’s the same jacket he wore in SFA, consider how broad shouldered and tall he is. He didn’t buy that shit off the rack, even if it is too small the guy is too big. Birdie’s size is huge, not just the belly. I’m talking height and measurements. The guy is fucking 7’1". Even in SFA his chest measurements were 61" that’s bigger than the biggest body builders and that’s JUST his chest which has likely gotten even bigger at this point given that while he retained his arm muscles his pecs didn’t exactly stick around. That doesn’t account for his incredibly broad shoulders. Even small in length that jacket had to be bought somewhere atypical. The arm holes are positioned right even if the front wont close. If the jacket were too small he’d rip the back out doing anything that closes his arms. China and Thailand are not the places you’re gonna find clothes for someone 7’1" in a local outlet. His pants may not be wide enough around but they ARE long enough. Consider how big his feet are. He wears the right size shoes.

Eternal, Birdie’s clothes work on the Bruce Banner principle. Sure they shouldn’t fit him at all anymore, yet the somehow they manage to barely hold on for dear life.

Do you normally wake up in Northern California and find a Japanese girl in full traditional Japanese garb designed for a climate totally unlike the one you’re currently in? Because the Russian chick is in full Russian garb for a Siberian winter. She should be dead from heat-stroke in the tropical location Nash is in when he wakes up. It’s stupid and, again, lazy.
