Welllllll… I don’t think it’s been stated whom he was fighting. Well in all fairness, I’d expect that Cody was sticking to criminals and general thugs with those fights. Even in his current state he tends to find trouble mostly with either people seeking him out, or somehow bad guys are just “by coincidence” in his way. Of course beating up hoodlums and purse snatchers isn’t exactly the same as fighting a publicly known organized criminal gang. There is a reason Batman wears a mask.
I did think of a way that Nash could meet Cody. It has felt for a long time like there could be a fairly natural way to write a connection story for Chun / Cody given the police officer / prisoner thing. Perhaps Chun could have met Cody during the whole Metro City thing. Any idea how long she was in the force when SFA happened? Maybe she was new to the force during the Metro City gang war. Doesn’t seem like a stretch to create a relationship between the three of Cody/Chun/Haggar to me.
You play six degrees of Kevin Bison and you can make Nash - Cody start to have a potential path towards a meeting through a relationship with Chun. Not sure exactly how it would happen, but that seems like the most logical direction to start walking.
I do wonder if the fact that one of the stages features The First International Bank of Suplexes will come into play. That means it must be somewhere near Metro City I’d imagine. I mean they’ve had plenty of stages that don’t REALLY matter to the story other than being a backdrop, but these are all generic locations. Metro City is like THE Street Fighter location. Everywhere else kind of floats around, different parts of Thailand as a whole country, new secret base locations, airports/hangars on different spots, generic china town. Metro City is like one of the only constants in the SF world’s geography. It is practically a character itself, just like New York is to Marvel. I wonder if the metro city aspect will fly by without mention or be important.
Even if he isn’t playable it feels like Chun meeting with the mayor of Metro City regarding something going on, or locating someone, or doing anything along those lines in the city would make sense. Have him contact the police or try and find out with Haggar already knows about a particular situation or criminal.
Earlier it was mentioned that Rolento is one of Nash’s rivals. I was going to dismiss the idea of Rolento interacting with Nash before, but the more I thought about it I realized a super obvious route to take that, one which also hearkens back to their Alpha interactions. Rolento could consider trying to recruit Nash into his military, and I could actually see Nash working with Rolento. Only for the purpose of using Rolento’s military resources for his own personal revenge plans. Beyond that Nash doesn’t seem like one who would be interested in Rolento’s “Outer Heaven” idea. Plus they both got matching face scars! Face scar BFFs! Rolento hands Nash back his dog tags, complete with little half heart BFF necklace
These are all, of course, fan fiction concepts but we have seen so little of the story so far in SFV, it’s hard NOT to try and create your own path when it’s so damn open ended atm.
