I don’t think he did. Here’s his EX2 profile translation describing the events that led up to his amnesia from the first EX.
Apparently he dodges a Shinki Hatsudo from an unknown opponent, but the Shinki Hatsudo is actually one of Kairi’s own techniques. This leads me to believe that the unknown foe Kairi faces is his own father who’s gone missing.

Some other things that SFEX story adds to the otherwise lacking SF2 plot is the appearance of Cyborgs who can copy fighting data (monitor cyborgs?)

So we have revamped SF endings and continuations of coinciding story elements such as SnH, Shadaloo’s brainwashing drugs, and technique copying cyborgs. SFEX is sounding more and more like a suitable plot for SF2 rather than a side story. It’s the story SF2 deserves.
Well, it’s starting to look like a misconception (Akuma fighting Kairi), but we still have to see what the AAC bios say. J’s endings are all from AAC, but his EX profiles are from old sites that are no longer up. I feel like the AAC bios will probably give us the complete story. It’s good that we have all of the endings already, though. Once we finish all of the bios, then I feel like we’ll know everything.

according this article New Generations pictures would be the ones doing casting and the directing . their the ones who find all the voice actor talent , do the auditions and submit them. however base on the article a game’s producer has the right to override or veto something in regards to the performance. which doesn’t happen often according to the article.
I don’t want to be a buzzkill here, but is there a reason we’re doing all of these translations here in the SF5 story thread instead of in the [all Street fighter story thread](Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived
I mean, most of this has nothing to do with SF5. I didn’t want to complain earlier, but now we’re doing EX games that aren’t even canon to Street Fighter.
This thread serves to be both SF5’s story thread and the story thread for all the games that preceded it. Especially since SF5 is built from and borrows parts of many of its predecessors, including non-canon sources.
You can’t know where you are going if you don’t know where you are and where you’ve been.
Aside from what Daemos said, there isn’t anything to discuss about V’s story right now, anyway. I’m sure that’ll change come June, but I don’t see an issue talking about information pertaining to the older games.
There’s nothing to know on 5’s story atm. We got prologues. And I’m pretty sure it’s been discussed already on what might happen. So…why not take a blast to the past?
If both Nash and Guile were lieutenants during SFA series , and Nash was Guile’s superior officer . That would make Nash first lieutenant and Guile second lieutenant
I mean, I’m not against discussion the stories of past games, it’s just, there’s already another thread specifically FOR that. So I’m not sure why do it here.
Marketing opportunity perhaps. The readership of the SF5 forum is much higher than the old story thread in the fanfiction forum. It’s much easier and more efficient to have our discussions here with more people and more readers (many of whom are lurkers and do not post). There is also a lot of hype/interest (or there was at least) for the new SF5 game (and by extension its cinematic story mode). This forum is therefore the nexus for all things Street Fighter on SRK right now, and a Street Fighter story (past, present, and future) thread belongs here for now.
This thread will always be the little brother of Warriors Fate though.
Looking at all of the EX stories, we know that EX and EX3 are both tournament based:
EX: The strong who represent their countries have gathered to do battle in another World Fighting Championship. Ryu relies on himself to fight new warriors cursed in the blood of madness… while M. Bison, and Akuma, both await a formidable opponent to surpass.
EX3: Chun-Li said Bison was behind the world tournament.
Now when it comes to EX2 and EX2+, I don’t believe it’s mentioned if it’s a tournament or not:
EX2: Awaiting the warrior who fights with repeating thoughts in his heart is Garuda_____ a soul who has been eaten by the “Surge of Murderous Intent”. To face him is to wonder what leads to the blood of a warrior? What will be the destiny of the sorrowful siblings_____ Hokuto and Kairi, who will shed the blood of mercy?
EX2+: M. Bison is the leader of the drug cartel Shadaloo. In his bid for world conquest, he manufactures drugs which causes disaster across the globe. Fighters are gathered once again for honor, revenge, and new power…… Shadaloo will further expand during the time of drama.
I think EX2 seems to be more focused on Garada’s intentions to fight certain beings, along with Hokuto and Kairi’s cursed fate to kill each other. I guess this could be looked at as an Alpha like plot. We’ll probably know more when other bios are translated.
During EX2+, Shadaloo’s distribution of the SH-11 drug appears to be the emphasis of the storyline. However, the part about the fighters being gathered seems to imply there’s a tournament element to the story as well. With Bison being the final boss, I could actually see this being a Shadaloo based tournament. We know for a fact that Sim’s village has fallen victim to the SH-11, while Claw wants it specifically to beat Bison and obtain “ultimate beauty.” I’m wondering if the SH-11 has had an impact on any of the other fighters.
Whatever you think about the quality of the story is besides the point. We will get more traffic, and subsequently more discussion opportunities here than in the ass end of SRK. We’re fine here, well into 150+ pages, and I don’t foresee us going anywhere in June or the foreseeable future.
Sakura is awesome. Some look at her chase of Ryu as annoying, but it’s one of the things I enjoy about the character.
I remember in one of the older books there was a Shadaloo analysis page on Sakura, Gen, and someone else. It basically highlighted her incredible ability to mimic how others fight and why she’d be a good asset to Shadaloo. The only problem was that their brainwashing method *might *completely undo this, which would render her useless.
Behind the scenes information like that is always a good read. I would’ve never thought something like Shadaloo’s brainwashing could’ve interfered with her natural ability to mimic, but it actually makes great sense when you think about it.
