Everyone knows RyuXKen is the one true pairing. Even Eliza knows she’s just a side piece.

The hardcore Karate girl. Once calling the prestigious karate dojo of “Rindokan” (Gentian Pavillion) her home, now with her father; the master passing away, and her older brother working in the office because of lack of new fighting talent, the dojo is now desolate and obsolete. Depressed on waiting for current states to change, she leaves the country in a attempt to sell her name and revitalize her home dojo. She’s a tom-boy in nature, and her tone of voice is a young gruff *tosa accent, although its evident to see she’s a girl when she tightens her blackbelt. In her ending she returns to her now lively dojo as the youngest master of Rindokan. Appearing as a Japanese girl with black hair dressing in white attire adorning a scarf around her neck, before the games release there were plausible rumors circulating regard her as “Ryu’s sister”.

“She jumped in to save him. They must be in love.”
Ken is his best friend, which would explain why he’d do what it takes to help Ryu.
Sagat is Ryu’s rival. It’s not like he got in the way of a Psycho Crusher or anything; he just went against the idea of fighting a manipulated Ryu.
Sakura has no actual connection with Ryu outside of her idolization of him and a picture he unwillingly was in with her. That didn’t stop her from standing in the way of Bison, who could’ve incinerated her into pieces had he felt like it.
Besides that, her SF4 win quote to Sagat implies there’s attraction on her end, anyway.

And this is why I find Karin annoying. I read this, and the only issue or flaw I see in Karin’s character is that she lost to Sakura one time. She’s considered perfect in every other way, and has enough experience and training under her belt to lead me to believe that her loss to Sakura was more of a fluke or mistake on Karin’s part than any credit to Sakura. It’s almost like a poorly written parody of the Ryu/Sagat rivalry with all the meaning, character progression, and consequences removed.

Wait, Sean went to college? How old is he, anyway? I only had him in the 18-20 range. And, I guess this confirms his entire story in 3S to be non-canon?

I’m not saying there isn’t. I’m just saying his conclusion of “She jumped in to save him, therefor she loves him” is specious.

Nope, her flaw is being a perfectionist. Not that she lost and seeks a rematch, that’s just a consequence of her perfectionism, which is clearly a flaw.
I’m getting senile and I can’t remember if I’ve read here or somewhere else the description of the image below, which states that after winning a tournament/some fights in a small village, local people offered the company of this young girl to the embarrassed Ryu as a reward.

It is clear that Ryu, as movie Captain America, is still a virgin.

Nope, her flaw is being a perfectionist. Not that she lost and seeks a rematch, that’s just a consequence of her perfectionism, which is clearly a flaw.
But being a perfectionist is only a compelling character issue when they have to go out of their way to be perfect. Karin just winds up perfect and doesn’t fail often enough to make it clear that her perfectionism is a personality trait rather than a result of always winning.
I don’t have a problem with perfectionist characters: See Vega and Dudley for how that is supposed to work. Vega is a colossal narcissist who wears a mask to protect his “perfect” face. By wearing the mask, Vega shows awareness that he CAN fail and works to avoid failure. Dudley became a champion boxer to recoup his family’s losses after Dudley Sr.'s business went under, so he has to be a boxing perfectionist because everyone is counting on him. Karin never shows any awareness of being able to fail and has no motivation to fight beyond “upholding the family name”, which is a load of crap since they just fight for sport rather than as a profession like Makoto or Laura. She walks around with a “better than you” attitude and none of the other characters challenge that. Hell, half of the winquotes against her are some version of “Wow, you’re strong and enlightened! I wouldn’t win a rematch!”, and she hasn’t officially beaten anyone to earn that respect. The only character I think she has canonically defeated is Birdie (maybe Sakura, but after a rematch), which isn’t much when you’re put alongside Dhalsim, Bison, Ryu, and Oro.

The veteran assassin, having been billed in Hong Kong’s underworld as “The Invincible Gen of Countless Death Matches”. Having mastered the two styles of So-ryu (mourning style) and Ki-ryu (memorial style *“although the 忌 character can be red as mourning as well” ) he can take the life of his target instantly with his bare hands. Because he is afflicted with an incurable disease he has thrown himself into the pursuit of a “death match” attributing any remaining life he has left to the fight. The conversation with his final boss Akuma reveals that both are mutual user of the assassin’s fist. Killing him would bring life’s greatest pleasure, but he leaves without delivering the final blow to Akuma. By observing the dialogue during his rival battle, it is revealed he knows something about the fate of Chun Li’s father.
The dark projection who can kill an enemy within 180% of probability. An elderly man beyond the age of 70, while being afflicted with a sickness he only looks forward to a “death match”, content with the fate of dying on the battlefield fighting a strong opponent rather than by an illness. He’s a technical character who combines two styles, although you can use a composite style of both; Ki and So, exclusively in X-ISM. He believes that Ryu will follow the ways of Akuma’s assassin’s fist. After defeating Vega, and beating his only rival Akuma in a “death match”, he is immersed in the memories of the bloodbath with Akuma as he leaves the battlefield.

Located in the Amazon jungles lives a sennin (hermit sage) who secludes himself in a cave with his pet animals. Having reached enlightenment he has yet to die and now lives to be 140 years old. Although he thoroughly believes in his motto of “nothing being impossible for a sennin”, he has become too strong and is now bored with his daily life. During his spare time training he thought it would be a good idea to acquire a pupil, therefore he set out on a search to find a person with the talent to learn from him. Since he outclasses most opponents in power he fights with his dominate arm sealed. During his appearance and win animations he is seen wrapped in a hanging sleeping bag, in which he resembles a bagworm. During his ending he keeps an eye out on a Ryu, who he views as a likely candidate for a pupil. Indeed, it should also be noted that the sennin does not mind standing on top of an airplane as means of aerial transportation.
Akuma exhibits a gesture of familiarity as if they were acquainted, but since Oro’s memory is a bit shaky this may be their first encounter.
While still bored with his “spar time” his interests is piqued when hearing rumors of a “mysterious organization” comprised of “people with incredible fists”. Once again he journeys out of boredom to ascertain the truth of both rumors. In this game he lifts the ban placed on himself and is able to use both arms for certain techniques. He’s still young at heart, and on the occasion of Ibuki issuing a challenge he is disappointed to find out she wasn’t asking him out “on a date”.

I never said that they are in love, stop making things up. I only said that if Sakura risked her life for Ryu, not anybody else, that must mean there’s some sort of connection between the two, at least from the Sakura side, therefore it’s not entirely stupid to dismiss when people ship them together, where as I recall no such deeds from Chun’s side yet people are going crazy over having Chun and Ryu paired
Besides, Ken is Ryu’s closest friend since childhood - kinda obvious Ken would risk his life and sacrifice himself if needed
Sagat, however, has honor. He knows fighting a possessed Ryu is not the way he would like their match to go, because he wouldn’t be fighting Ryu - he’d be fighting something else in a body of Ryu
So these are three completely different cases

That may have been what you meant, but you did NOT say all of that. All you said was “Ryu x Sakura shipment”. That could be taken a lot of ways without elaboration.
So Oro’s bio doesn’t elaborate on his defeat of Ryu, either. I’m actually a bit surprised neither Ryu or Oro’s bio go into detail about their battle.

So Oro’s bio doesn’t elaborate on his defeat of Ryu, either. I’m actually a bit surprised neither Ryu or Oro’s bio go into detail about their battle.
Oro didn’t really fight Ryu iirc. He just found Ryu and decided “Hey, this guy looks powerful enough for me to train!”
The consensus awhile back was that Oro knocked Ryu out of the tournament, but took note of his ability while fighting him. Makes sense because I can’t think of anyone else outside of Urien that would be able to beat Ryu. The only issue there is Alex won the tournament, which means he would’ve had to have fought Oro at some point. The old guide suggested that Oro beat Ryu, saw no one else worthy of fighting and ditched the tournament altogether.
