The selection pool of candidates go through a lifetime of training and discipline since childhood. They are usually children of society members.

In the games, yes. But I don’t think that’s the case in the comics. They seem to be trying to make it out like Alex is something more than that. Urien recognizes him immediately, and has a rather sever reaction to him. I don’t think he’s simply “A guy Gill thinks will turn out to be really good.”

Well, it’s just a theory. And it’s a solid theory. She’s such a super human though. Although I think 70kg’s might be a little underestimated, Also noticed how her height has changed throughout the years, going from 5’8" in SFII, to 5’7 in SFIV, to 5’5" in SFV.

I’m pretty sure the 5’5" is a typo, though. The Japanese website shows the correct height, as does the game IIRC. Speaking about which, here is Alex’ profile:

169 cms is converted into 5.54462 feet or 5 ft, 6.54 inches. (or 5’7" if you round up)

my guess is something got lost in translation between japanese and english height conversion, cause they clearly put Chun-Li as 5’5" in her profile.

Alex, being 195 cms roughtly converts to 6 feet, 4.77 inches (6’5" if you round up)

And 111kg’s converts to 244.713 lbs

This “theory” isn’t so far off from what the plot guide had theorized her weight to be (68kg), with in game evidence to boot (Juni’s SFA3 power readings based on height and weight; Chun “BP 6900 SP 6800” H=170cm W= 68kg" ). Given that most of the fighters put on weight as the series progresses 70kg’s sounds very reasonable.

I will say that even though her height was stated to be 5’8" Chun has always been depicted as 5’5" in artworks, and I think her SFV model is more accurate to her depictions in artwork.

I’m 5’10" in reality which is Ryu’s height, I had an ex girlfriend who was 5’8" and basically matched me in eye to eye. Here’s how Chun is depicted in SF2 artwork standing next to Ryu, Ken, and Dhalsim who are all roughly the same height.

Chun Li barely reaches past Ken’s shoulder, and even if they were all standing perfectly straight she still wouldn’t be as tall as Dhalsim even, and he’s 5’9" (I think he might be stretching a little in the picture).

Since Street Fighter V is supposed to be an ever-evolving platform, which might imply not just roster, game mode, or game mechanics wise, but also story-wise - how do you see/would like to see Capcom write the lore for the characters that might not be around in the next game, since they’ll probably retcon A LOT of stuff from the New Generation era, and I assume this game will slowly transist from post-SF4 arc into SF5 arc into SF3 arc?

Such as…

• Guile leaving the military to live a normal life and be a family man since Shadaloo will be no more

• Tom getting defeated by Gill, encouraging Alex to enter the SF3 tournament

• Laura becoming a whole new character and opening her school of Matsua JuiJitsu, while Sean becomes the Ansatsuken martial artist under Ken

and so on?
