The Dark Lord Emperor of Muai Thai? WTF???
I thought this book was supposed to be a source of canon, especially since it came out when all of the major “Street Fighter” games already existed.
And still, they decided to include every little piece of information that any random intern came up with on a whim and that was never referenced again?
Not even the game itself presents Sagat as particularly dark. He’s pretty friendly and takes his defeat quite well:
“You’ve outlasted the best. You are now the strongest street fighter in the world!”

By the way, would anybody be interested in scans from the texts of Complete File Street Fighter II? That’s the original story book from 1992. It has character profiles for all 12 fighters, descriptions about the 12 stages and the bonus stages, two scenic artworks for each fighter with a caption and a two page section about SF1.
Ryu is 10 years older than Sakura. Ryu is 23 in SF1. He is around 24 in Alpha.
So shes like 13 in alpha then?
I know bak still has a ton to translate, so I’m just putting together sections for various characters right now.
So far I got Ryu, Ken, Cammy, Nash, Guile, Alex, Sagat, Sim, Akuma, Juni/Juli, Claw, Chun-Li, Kairi, Doctrine Dark, Oro, Alex and many others.
Btw, there’s this section with a lot of text under Super Street Fighter 2X, with Gouken and Goutetsu’s bio right under it. It looks like the story text for SF2X is related to them, so that looks to be quite interesting. I’m going to post that along with Akuma’s bios when I’m finished editing a bit.

The “Dark Lord” isn’t implying anything about his demeanor, it’s a title that’s a direct reference to the character Sagat is modeled after; Reiba: The Dark Lord of Muai Thai, albeit the stylized comic version.
Street Fighter is basically a modern tale telling of karateka Mas Oyama legendary victory over Muai Thai warrior Black Cobra. It also tells of Yoshiiji Soeno wins over Reiba’s students, and eventually the dream match with Reiba himself which never happened because of Reiba’s murder.
Many people have heard of Kyokushinkai’s founder Mas Oyama, a legend who challenged and defeated artists from around the world who represented many different styles.
One notable fighter that Oyama went up against was a Muay Thai fighter known as the invincible “black cobra” in 1954 at lumpinee stadium, bangkok.
Oyama defeated him with an elbow strike followed up with a triple aerial kick. but he later said in an interview that it was a very close fight.
In 1964, Oyama’s senior disciple, Kurosaki. took a team of 3 karateka to challenge the Thai boxers again at lumpinee stadium. the Karate team won 2 out of 3 bouts. but the ringleader Kurosaki got KOed in the first round with an elbow strike by a Thai middleweight.
That fight changed his life and Kurosaki gave up Karate and trained in Muay Thai, he became the father of Japanese kickboxing.
People like Kurosaki, Yoshiji Soeno another kyokushin legend, and Oyama were some of the Karateka who were bold enough to challenge the strongest muay thai fighters.
They along with the Thai legends such as black cobra is where you get the characters Ryu and Sagat from the street fighter game series.
Yoshiiji Soeno and Oyama came the template for Ryu while Sagat was based off of Black Cobra. (in addition Ken is modeled off of He-man and Karate legend Joe Lewis)
In 1974, soon after the 5th All Japan Open, Yoshiji Soeno, the “Tiger of Kyokushin” (paired with the equally famous Terutomo Yamazaki, known as the “Dragon of Kyokushin”) decided to follow in the footsteps of Mas Oyama. With the blessing of Sosai Oyama, he went on a solo mission to Thailand to re-determine which is the ultimate striking art on Earth – Karate or Muay Thai?
Soeno was tricked into losing weight by the fight promoter, he ended up fighting a middle weight while he was a light weight. Soeno almost got killed in that match but he won by using a Judo sacrifice throw on the Thai fighter an then knocking him out with an aerial roundhouse kick
This caught the attention of Reiba who was also known as the “Dark Lord of Muay Thai” it is said that he was stronger if not as as strong as the black cobra.
Soeno fought against Reiba’s disciple who was known as the “Dark Warrior”. Soeno defeated the Thai fighter with the same triple aerial attack that Oyama used on black cobra 20 years ago.
Reiba was shocked as well as the crowd that his disciple got beat so he challenged Soeno himself.
But Reiba’s brother Daya also a thai boxer and a chief in the Thai mafia intervened and challenged Soeno. Daya fought using a technique known as Pahuyuth which is animalistic an uses every part of the body as a weapon.
After a very bloody match, Soeno won in the 4th round with a flying elbow to the top of Daya’s head knocking him out instantly.
This really pissed off Reiba an he knew he was the only Muay Thai artist who could take on the Karate man. but unfortunately, Reiba was shot and killed by a Thai gangster who was part of a syndicate mob that ambushed him.
It is reported that not even all of the mob men could stop Reiba even though they had weapons and Reiba was empty handed……but it was the bullet that killed him.
Soeno continued to win matches at lumpinee stadium but he always felt an empty void because he never got to fight the “Dark Lord of Muay Thai” an see what the outcome would be.

Maybe it just means he’s edgy. He says minor curse words like damn and hell. He’s getting a spinoff game where he rides a motorcycle and shoots soldiers and aliens.
I think it’s a mis-translation.
All this time Sagat has actually been the Dank Lord of Meme-Time
Dude has SICK doge skillz
I’ll be doing translations on the different sections of Shadaloo and then move onto each section of M.Bison.
Shadaloo:
The Shadaloo gang ( シャドルー · ギャング ), is the most heinous criminal organization in the world that’s based in Southeast Asia. The proud villainous leader has been claimed to be Sagat, but the full authority is in the hands of the boss, Bison (General Bison).
The Four Heavenly Kings:
The 4 current members are; Bison, Balrog, Sagat, and Vega. They were originally non playable during the first generation (SFII), but became playable later (SFII Dash). Vega hold the position as leader while the other 3 are his subordinates, despite the fact of them holding the same title of Heavenly King. Absent as a whole for most of the (SFZ) series, they join later on as guests.
Psycho Drive:
Shadaloo’s developing a top secret device. What is known for certain is that the device extracts energy from the person inside, it radiates Psycho Power which it can use to power a weaponized laser boasting a power which can instantly destroy anything. How it is used in each character ending may be different, but what is certain is that Vega plans to use this device for his scheme to conquer the world. Furthermore, the sleeping Buddha statue in Sagat’s stage is the device which fires the laser.
SH-11:
Shadaloo’s developed a new drug which is the first step in a plan for world domination. With brainwashing as it’s claimed side effect, indiscriminate tests are run on civilians, particularly ones of Dhalsim’s village. Balrog is plotting to use this drug in attempts to gain what he considers “ultimate beauty” (隀美).
Hmm, interesting:
-Publicly, Sagat is the leader of Shadowloo, and few know who Bison even is, let alone what he does
-I guess we now know why there’s no Buddha stage for Sagat in SF4; it was destroyed in Alpha 3
-SH11 is what Vega’s hopes for Shadowloo are riding on. I wonder if this leads him to possibly age slower at the cost of mental stability or something.
FengShuiEnergy:
Who’s general Bison?
(Major) M. Bison (dictator). For some reason they decided to address him as “Bison” instead of the traditional “Vega”, when speaking about Shadaloo in specific.

SH-11 is a story concept exclusive to Shadaloo in the EX series, it’s not something that is currently a part of the main canon. It almost sounds similar to the drug “Doll” that was introduced as a plot point in the Kanazaki SF2 manga.
Dhalsim’s poor village is always getting the worst no matter what universe it’s in. Whether it be dehydration due to no water, or brainwashing because of drugs, or dead elephants on account of Boxers.

I’m not going to lie, I was so invested in reading this that I was sorely disappointed when it ended so quickly
In other news, I know its nowhere near canon, but seeing Alex disintegrate hordes of Twelves in the newest issue Street Fighter Unlimited was pretty cool.

Been wondering how he actually did that.
Probably related to why the Illuminati/Gill is so interested in him in SF3.
I think the Twelves are specifically designed to fall apart if a Illuminatui candidate attacks them so that if they ever turn on their masters, they aren’t a threat. And the reveal is going to be that Alex is another one of the candidates like Gill and Urien, he just doesn’t know it.
But isn’t chun a candidate for gill’s “perfect world”.
