The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

You’re forgetting about Juri and her artificial eye that constantly requires her to have it checked by Shadaloo scientists. So, she has to do whatever Shadaloo wants her to do. She’s a pawn by your logic. Like I said, next to everyone is a pawn in the game by your definition of the word. So, stop using it specifically to refer to Nash in a pejorative sense.

@Daemos you’re not one to determine what is a weak or a strong argument. You, who said Viper might be working for Secret Society because Seth pronounced the letter “C” in his ending. LOL, what a joke!

And enough with your patronizing attitude every once in a while. You know what, you’re the one who’s always making it personal between you and me by commenting upon my use of English or telling me I SHOULD see things from a different perspective whenever you can’t produce a counterargument. Well, you know what? English is not my native language and I like to think I’m doing a heck of a good job speaking it as a non-native. As the saying goes: “Never make fun of someone who speaks broken English. it means they know another language.” And thank you for breaking the truce between us and pressing the “Disagree” button. Right back at cha! :relaxed:

Because Juri can overpower Seth? I guess the difference of Seth from the others is that he easily trust people like Viper and Juri?

Seth knew all along that Juri was likely going to betray him. I imagine he thought that since Shadaloo killed her family, that he could manipulate her and harness her anger, redirecting it towards his own goals. He underestimated her capacity for disorder and chaos, so she wasn’t a good pawn.

I’m also not sure Juri can overpower Seth totally’ when she ‘beat’ him in SF4, he was already trashed by Bison and perhaps others even.

But Viper was a bigger mistake than Juri I imagine. She was good at what she does, so Seth didn’t catch on as fast.

Seth was just arrogant. Much like Bison. His foolishness cost him. Oh well, scrap will be scrap. Well Juri did body two seth clones in an instant so…there’s that. In the end doesn’t matter. Seth is/was a joke anyway. The guy more almost on the same lvls of arrogant as Bison yet he achieved very little. And ended up being used by a person that thought he could manipulate. As for Viper, she just showed up with no history attached to her. So he had nothing to go by.

He found Juri and using her background attempted to steer her fury towards a common enemy which worked…somewhat. He was planning to kill Juri from the beginning anyway. Since he knew she was too violent to actually keep around. And could end up turning on him anyway. Like Dameos said, he knew she was gona betray him…problem was he didn’t know when. Hence why he was super pissed right before Juri killed him. He knew but just let it slide because again arrogance. Thinking he could control her, and take down Bison as well. Heh…didn’t work.

At least now we know Viper is a pretty good Double Agent

Right. It’s the ten of us that are ALL using the word wrong. It’s not just you…

That’s true, but these ‘clones’ are essentially empty vessels. They are only as strong as they allowed to be. Seth was allowed to be very strong (first by Bison, then by his own - or so he thought), and used his data recorder (Tanden Engine) to its full capacity. Seth was able to give Ryu a run for his money also. So he isn’t really like the other clones, with whom he may share the same potential power but not actual power.

is that from the ties that bind OVA?

Ryu thought he could go ham on seth. Got bodied but then “nothing” happened and seth went all burny. I doubt that seth is actually that strong. I mean, he never real showed any real signs of power.

Dude, people have spent posts going over why you’re wrong. You also keep fixating on the wrong parts of the analysis. Just because Charlie is a pawn doesn’t mean people don’t** like him**, it doesn’t mean he’s a bad a character. It means, what it means, the guy is being manipulated by forces beyond his control. You’re taking this weirdly personally. You keep saying we’re wrong or you bring up how we’re focusing on Charlie being a pawn and not others…except users like @Fatal1ty_93_RUS broke down why certain other characters are considered pawns and why others are not.

Yeah Charlie’s a strong guy, but strength doesn’t prevent you from being used as a pawn - in comics and movies you frequently have heroes or even powerful villains being manipulated from behind the shadows. It doesn’t mean they’re trash, it just means that the manipulator is in better standing, either through resources, situational positioning, or just that they have enough foresight to steer the characters into a corner.

You got beef with Daemos and it’s colouring your judgement. We don’t *idolize *him for some random reason, a lot of people agree with him because he offers real good insight (and entertaining Bison devotion). That doesn’t prevent some of us from disagreeing with him, heck, on where to take Charlie and Guile’s futures, I disagreed with his opinion that Guile needs to die or that Blanka’s mother needs to die or he needs to be more feral to further his story. The difference is, it never gets personal and at the end we could just shrug our shoulders and go our separate ways.

Anyways, steering the conversation back to story, I was looking through imdb for SF5, and I noticed several people are cast as “P-L-A soldiers” are those the Shadaloo troops?

Also, it’s my hope that Rose will be a part of this shebang, but at this stage restricted to storymode. If ever there was to be a series narrator it could be Rose and/or Viper.

The way I would do it is similar to MKX. Instead of Johnny narrating the events of the series thus far, we could have Rose talking about the rise of Shadaloo (in almost a vague, legendary prose format - “There once was a man, who was born under a sinister star…ambition and conquest ruled his fate…” that doesn’t give away too much but has us stew). She could then give a brief overview of the past games and take us along as the story happens in real time.

The devs stated that Charlie would be an important focus to the story, and who do we see first in his story bits? Rose. With all the new story focus and continuity that’s seeded, I highly doubt a character who’s so tightly tied to Bison is going to miss his greatest caper yet.

Super Sonic = Cipher

inb4 he taps “Disagree” under this post

Stop using my name, I hate it to get every time these stupid messages from this wannabe storythread.

Lmao this guy got here just after 3 minutes that post was made.

Why do you even lurk this thread if you don’t like it at all, go do something more productive with your time.

So any thoughts on my last theory?

Bison is going to take over the world with the help of pizza planet.

ParryAll, Super Sonic, Cipher. I feel that I attract the wrath of the craziest posters… I know I sometimes can come off as coarse and assertive (even IRL) but I went over all my recent posts and I don’t see what I did to deserve that kind of reaction from him. Was it the ‘my english is flawless’ comment? Because I was obviously being cheeky (if it were actually flawless I wouldn’t be best friends with the edit button). I laid out my point of view firmly in regards to Nash and challenged his with explanations to why he is wrong. But I never attacked him. Still I get painted as some sort of ‘Dictator’ (not the good one). It’s like I’ve been posting here long enough to see myself become the villain. gasp Am I turning into Vasili?

Ugh, sometimes I just can’t…

Rose appeared as the ‘Joker’ card in Nash’s deck of cards by the way. Perhaps this is foreshadowing her ‘deus ex machina-esque’ role in the coming plot. It’s very difficult to imagine her as not part of the story. I agree that Rose would be my number 1 candidate for Voice of the Narrator of the SF series. I’d settle for her being the Narrator but at some point she needs to join the party.

I didn’t even @mention you via the forum itself, so what are you doing here anyway? You said 4 times already that you’re leaving the thread and not going to come back, and yet here you are again, crying like a little bitch. Man up or buzz off.

Well that’s great. You’re turning into exactly what you hate the most. Guess we’ll need to find a new Daemos soon before you start writing a plot guide of your own

I actually don’t hate Vasili though. For a time, he was a good poster who helped keep the SF canon to the best of his ability. Make no mistake, the Plot Guide was good for much of its early history. It’s only when the modern era (SF4) came about and his refusal to adapt to the changing times that things really went south. He just couldn’t let it go…
