The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

The hint then would be that Abel is linked to the cyborg initiative of Shadaloo.

Androids are not organic, and the human Incubators are human. They are grown in a lab at an accelerated rate then are augmented with cybernetic enhancements. So definitely option A.

Regarding Juri, if you see Seth’s SSF4 ending it shows you an alternative version of events for the character where she clearly doesn’t care for revenge. She’s in it for fun. So Capcom has shown intent in the canon timeline at least for Juri to remain with Shadaloo.

This is the version of events that xT and PXZ seem to follow, and this will be her present in SF5 I think.

Does anyone else think it’s weird that Bison is one of the Four Kings?

I mean, shouldn’t he be on a level above them? It seems weird that, but taking on the same title as his 3 subordinates, it’s like he’s considering them equals.

It would make more sense for Bison to be above them, and for someone, like, say, Juri, to be the 4th instead.

When the term is used correctly, no. But that’s not always the case. For example, in DBZ, several characters referred to as Androids are actually cyborgs.

I don’t think it’s odd. It reminds me of the Heavenly Kings from KoF. While Goenitz is one of the Kings, he’s the clear leader of the group that answers directly to Orochi. The other members are Kings, but seem to be little more than pawns to Orochi’s goals.

I always saw the Kings as a title reserved for the highest ranking members. Bison clearly positions himself as the leader. His status matters more than his title.

I’m just waiting for the inevitable Necalli x Akuma showdown.

Cuz as far as Bison is concerned, Sagat, Vega and Balrog were just hired muscle; pawns if you will. Elite pawns, mind you, but still just pawns. Correct me if I’m wrong but I was always under the impression that the Shadaloo gang were just under Bison’s payroll, and they weren’t exactly loyal to him. Heck, I doubt Bison would lose much sleep if Vega or Balrog got killed during a mission. He’d just hire another tough goon who would take the job if the price was right and move on.

Now all of a sudden he erects gigantic statues of his mooks along side his own and calls them kings.

Does seem a little weird if you ask me.

It’s pretty weird that Necalli doesn’t have those slime rape moves in the game. I know they probably only came up with that story after Necalli was already done, but it kinda suck that we can’t use that in the game.

These titles are not for him, but for the hundreds, or probably thousands of members of their organization from all over the world. Bison bestows upon them wealth, power, and respect and in return they keep the hierarchy of operations solid. These things mean something to the other 3 Kings, so they can have them. But Bison is beyond such things, much more than his fellow members even know (hence why Sagat was surprised when Bison revealed his true ambitions). If we’re realistic, Bison can probably 1v3 the other 3 kings and come out on top. The statues are there to compensate probably.

Shadaloo means nothing to Bison personally, it is only a means to an end. It’s a vehicle, much like his host bodies, so that hecan attain his true ambition of supreme power. To put it in another way, all of Shadaloo thinks there are 4 Kings, but only Bison knows there are 3 kings and one god. Only Bison knows the true end goal of all this.

Yes, that’s how I see it too. We haven’t see her in a while and back then her only relevant role in the story was her link with Sakura. We shouldn’t judge characters so fast knowing that we’re getting a big story mode in June. She finally has a chance to shine without Sakura (at least for now since Sakura won’t be playable when the story mode releases) so let’s see how it goes.
She could end up being just a poor Mary Sue of course, it’s true that her prologue don’t give much hope about her character but Shibazaki is doing way too much.
As I said she’s a serious fighter now, if Ken struggles with his life and she has a easier time maybe we should accept that she IS better than Ken at it, just like Sakura can come back having mastered the tatsumaki better than Ryu since she was already better than a Ryu who fought Honda in A3.

About going with non canon for judging characters personalities Cipher, I just don’t think it’s a good idea. I mean…

I’ll read Sakura Ganbaru since its Karin’s first appearance, canon or not.

Like I said Wikipedia could have been everyone.
While I keep searching, here are some things I found during my search:

And now excuse me, I have to check another 20 sites ^^

I mean, it SHOULD remind you of the Heavenly Kings from KoF, because both groups are called Four Heavenly Kings in Japan. But in that example, Bison would be Orochi, not Goenitz, because he answers to no one.

Or like the Elite Four in Pokemon(also Four Heavenly Kings in Japan), who are all still beneath the Champion.

Bison should be on his own level at the top, and his 4 Lieutenants should be the 4 Heavenly Kings.

Given that the move appears to consume the person, presumably killing them, it wouldn’t make much sense for it to be a mid-match move.

So you post an over hour long interview video with someone who writes Udon SF comics without a timestamp to what *you’re *specifically referencing, thus expecting people to just sit through some long boring interview. You post an article about the plot guide which uses Vasili’s Plot guide as it’s main source and that’s your SOLID EVIDENCE?

I can’t wait to see what other steaming piles of insight you have waiting for us next time.

That’s because a name like The Four Kings implies nothing to what Bison is drawing a liking to. The Four Heavenly Kings (四天王-as Bison properly calls them) is a name based off of the The Four Heavenly Kings in Buddhism. Each one of these Kings rules over a particular corner of the globe: North, South, East, West.

Now you imply since he takes on the same title as they he is their equal, and that’s probably what Bison wants his subordinates to believe, but this is not exactly the case. Like with the directions they all might seem to be just as equal, North compliments South, and East compliments West, but people have used the North as their guiding direction for ages. Whether it be the North Star, how a map will always have North at the highest point, how a compass will always be facing North, the world see’s North as very important.

Likewise, in a group known as The Four Heavenly Kings, the leader M. Bison is more likely the representation of the “Northern” King above the rest.
Remember that “M.Bison” is “Vega” in Japan, and this name is referencing a star which was at one point in history Earth’s North Star, and maybe again in the future.

So… What is Ryu’s power level if he were in DBZ? He can’t tank bullets right? That would probably put him below 50…

For non-DBZ fans, 5 is normal human, ~10 would probably be like Bruce Lee, 50s aren’t penetrated by bullets, 300s are too fast for normal people to see, and 18, 000 is enough to destroy the earth with an energy blast.

Nakahira SFA manga not only had Ryu tank a few bullets, but he proceeded to force them out of his body and heal up Wolverine style through the power of SnH. He then went on a rampage Asura Warping all over the place so even cross fire couldn’t touch him. Even though this is non canon it was the first appearance of Evil Ryu.

holy crap scouter explodes

What’s going on here?

I think Gief’s face says it all

Zangief is looking at Mika’s outfit and thinking, ‘that would look fabulous on me at the party this weekend!’.

Zangief’s not gay GOD DAMN IT.

SF’s in general imo function like in early DBZ and the predecessor Dragonball. Where as some of the character themselves may not seem all too powerful physically, but they get stronger through ki augmenting. Especially when special moves are used a fighters power lvl will spike dramatically, aiding the chances of characters being able to fell an opponent who seemed stronger.

None of them are really strong enough on their own to take out a planet. The closest this has ever happened in canon or non canon would be S.Akuma taking out a meteor in Capcom Fighting Evolution, and Oni destroying part of the Moon in Asura’s Wrath.

Ofcourse these are accomplishments done early on in the Dragonball series.

Imo SF’s would rank around the 1000’s range to 10000 DBZ lvl at the highest. If the SF2 anime is anything to go by then Ryu maybe be around high 3000’s (3620 iirc) with the potential to grow.
