-When did Sagat leave Shadaloo? After or before SF4? and Birdie?
-When does Necalli get his “human appearance” (not the rocky one)? and how?
-How much older is Laura than Sean?
-Who are the Dolls that we saw in the Bison Story Mode (SFV)? I think they are Enero, Jianyu and Xiayu, am I wrong?
Way before. Alpha 3 basically retconned it so that he wasn’t even in Shadaloo in SF2. Which was reflected in later versions of SF2.
Judging by the story mode Birdie leaves Shadaloo during the events of this game, since FANG is already with the oranization, and he joined fairly recently.
[details=Spoiler]Best speculation is; Necalli absorbs the ancient Warrior Prophet featured in his story. This prophet has foresight of Necalli’s eventual meeting with Ryu, Dhalsim, and eventually Bison. So naturally he is someone strong Necalli is drawn to, and likely the one to give him his human form. Clues to this being Necalli’s default attire being adorned with serpent symbols (something the prophet was wearing at the time of his demise), as well as the prophets red colored hair and many scars.
Hold up. Do you remember how much time on Namek they just sat around doing nothing? Or hell, how a “5 minute fight” between Goku and Frieza took what, 20 episodes? I’ll agree with the Buu Saga being kind of dumb, but The Android/Cell Saga (I’ve always considered the whole thing just the Cell Saga, to be honest) is better than the Frieza Saga by a good bit to me, and DBZ should’ve probably just ended after that.
I think in a future DLC, there could be 3 dolls released at the same time, but counting as just 1 DLC rather than 3. For example, Enero, Xiayu and Santamu. They would play differently, but they would have the same story mode images, since they’re working for the same thing. The 3 of them were selected to go on the mission FANG talks about, and they’d be in contact with the other dolls in the Shadaloo base. With the weapons they have, they could really do a lot with them. I know a lot of you hate them, but I’d love to see a few of them working on an important mission for Shadaloo, which will probably cease to exist in the SFV timeframe.
The only ones not involved in the mission are Juni, Juli and Decapre. Decapre will probably be Cammy’s mission to rescue her, with Juni’s help. Juli is probably still catatonic and might feature if T-Hawk makes it.
@Daemos
Ah sorry, I didn’t mean Rashid’s story. I meant Zangief’s. Also, idk but to me Necalli, doesn’t seem out of place at all, I just don’t look too deep into trivial things. Sure, his origins and former abilities are outlandish compared to some of the cast, but you have people shooting spirit energy while others body hop and are immortal as long as there’s evil in the world. He doesn’t stick out as much as an orange in a basket of apples.
Spoiler
That’s some great speculation about Necalli’s human form! I too noticed similar scars on the ancient prophet.
I am getting worried about Necalli now, but I have hope it can be turned around. While I like DBZ, I have a TON of issues with it and HATE whenever people cross it over with something. It’s not following the Marvel vs Capcom route where the powers are seemingly adjusted so one side stands a chance. People always go nuts on superman vs Goku, but I’m tired of that crap because DBZ characters are too powerful, and they really suffer from power creep these days even within their series and there’s no real Cap on their ability to grow, so it’s never fun to mix them with anything because they’re automatically going to win.
I’ve posted numerous times on here how I don’t want Street Fighter to do that, because then Ryu and Ken will have to become demiGods to stop GrowlyMurderGod GoukOniX and then ALL the other cast becomes irrelevant because they’re just low powered schmoes sitting there gasping about how powerful the ShotoBros are.
Street Fighter is currently on the path to be the best it has been and I would be sad if that got derailed because of a DBZ influence.
So much THIS. I loved Freiza and Cell, but while I thought some of the events of Buu were interesting (like the humanity descending into chaos), he was just too much and things dragged and dragged. They made him so insanely powerful and top tier, that when he’s finally beat by just a spirit bomb, it felt confusing and anti-climactic to me somewhat. He was just this impossibly powerful thing that could eat gods and then Goku beats him eventually without personal sacrifice or ingenuity and ooops so much for Gohan finally coming into his own after the amazing progress we previously saw…
To be honest I’ve always felt Cell saga to be a more fitting end to the Z series. Especially how the start of the series basically implied from that Gohan’s potential was to be the stronger successor to Goku, which ended up coming full circle during Cell saga. The one thing I enjoyed about it particularly was Cell’s World Martial Arts Tournament, and how it showed the type of restraint these super powered beings had.
With Cell’s Tournament he basically sets up the rules from the WMA Tournament featured in the original Dragon Ball; where fighters would due battle in a ring and the only way to win is by Ko, submission, or ring out. It showed the sportsman like mentality Cell had, which imo rivaled M.Bison’s in a way.
To host a fighting tournament and prove yourself the worlds best, and then rule over it (in Cell’s case destroy it). Basically throughout the whole Z series with the ending of Saiyan Saga the planet is always at risk of being blown to bits, and Frieza saga just moved this risk from Earth to Namek, so imo, to actually have a plot setting for this to occur. So after Frieza saga the whole blowing giant holes in the planet every five seconds until it explodes just becomes boring, which had pretty much been every DBZ fight.
With the rules Cell had put into play, and everybody abiding by them (in the beginning for the most part), it provided an interesting fight. It was one that mostly relied on the skill of ones martial ability, not ones ki and destructive ability. Cell had that mentality of M.Bison’s; “I’ll fight you on your own level!”, which Frieza saga had a bit of this during the beginning of the Freiza and Goku fight, but no where on the grandiose scale of Cell. Everyone of the main Z Fighters had some part to play in the whole ordeal, (even if it is as mostly on the sideline) and the Cell vs Goku was probably the most tactical fight the whole series had. Which then leads into the climax of Gohan vs Cell which brings the series to it’s perfect ending imo.
Compared to all the sagas, Buu saga just felt forced.
“The Poison Hand, kills by using the natural poison produced within the user’s body”
Sounds like naturally generated poison, not an applied substance. While what you’re saying is probably the real life inspiration behind FANG, in universe he seems to generate poison through a technique of his own. I think he uses some kind of malevolent ki that slowly melts his opponents.
The Poison may be generated in the user’s body, but that doesn’t mean it has to stay there. If you noticed during the scene where he mentions this it shows children dipping their hands in a purple goop. This is the poison that he’s referring to that has been generated in the users body, but we clearly see it out in the open being in a bowl. If the poison is produced in the body, that means it’s being extracted and the children are applying it to their arms and hands after it is produced in their body and extracted.
If you were to read the article on the Dit Da this would actually make perfect sense. This is a type of natural liniment that can be made out of a variety of ingredients (both toxic and non toxic), that are usually passed through the ages and are kept secret. Dit Da’s are typically used for a variety of purposes in Marital Arts training to cure stiffness and aches in the striking hands as well as stimulate blood circulation and improve healing of wounds. They are also typically made in clay vessels, which perfectly describes what the children are making, except they’re adding lethal doses of natural poison produced inside of them originally. There are types of toxins in the human body which can be fatal if the body produces enough of them. In typical situations this does not occur, so I feel that this poison maybe produced naturally, but is unnaturally being elevated in the persons body.
I’m really curious what Vasili will do with his plot guide, now that there’s definite proof that Charlie’s SFA2 ending, not his SFA3 ending, is his canon “death” scene. A detail that was found out long ago with SF4’s cutscenes, but that is still ignored in the plot guide.
And will he still hold the opinion that Gouken is not the real Gouken?
“Alex is an American fighter from Manhattan, New York, who hasn’t been with his parents since they died when he was a young boy;[3] his current family consists of his father’s friend, Tom and his teenage daughter, Patricia, who live under the same roof with him. Alex trains daily at Tom’s gym, having learned everything he knows about fighting from Tom himself. Tom, being a military veteran[8] and a renowned refiner of fighting moves, often visits military bases as well as maintaining his own gym.[8]”
I had a theory once about Abel’s backstory where Charlie rescued him and left him with one of his good military buddies, and may be a possible reference to Tom …
