Extremely unlikely. This is a contract between the two companies, once it expires, so will it any future potential canonicity between the two universes.
The only way what you’re saying would become true is if Namco bought Capcom or vice versa, then they proceeded to merge the universes.
Look at the bottom right picture. That doesn’t look like normal Bison does he? He looks larger I feel and similar to the glowing/transparent Bison from the cinematic story trailer. New Final Bison maybe? Looks almost like he is made of pure Psycho power and does not have a physical form. It’s from a story mode slide. Can someone help translate some of details on the slide?
EDIT-
Famitsu posted higher quality versions of these shots.
Also this is the Bison from the cinematic story trailer I was referring to. Note the background.
Doesn’t change the fact that the Bison ‘spirit’ character was also in the cinematic story trailer, and so were the day/night cycles. So obviously, this Bison is a thing with plot relevance. But what?
I would kind of like it if they update their costumes every couple of generations so that the movie ones, or at least, movie inspired ones existed at some point, or are reserved for higher up, more elite soldiers.
I’m liking the subtle detail that this picture implies that the cause of his alternate costume might be damage based. The edges around the tears on Bison’s uniform look singed, as if they’ve been in a fire, along with dirt smudges and dents on his knee pads. He also has one of his shoulder pads torn off just laying in the corner, and by the looks of things he doesn’t look too happy.
(in comparison to someone like Vega)
Also Necalli’s alt makes him out to look completely inanimate. If all of these are supposedly prelude based then I wonder whats the story behind them?
From the looks of things I think a lot of these preludes are gonna be spread out throughout the general timeline leading up to the events of the true story mode of SF5. So characters like Ryu, Ken, and Nash might get a flashback part to play, as well as parts that plays out all the way until the current story. While other characters like Chun Li, Cammy, and the newcomers might begin a little closer to the current story and lead into it.
