It really bothers me that Ken gave Ryu his red ribbon in Alpha 2 and Ryu is still wearing a white head band in Alpha 3. It makes PERFECT sense for him to be wearing the red one in this time period which overlaps with SF2. Lazy Capcom.
Not even Daigo could make a shitty move like that work in any conceivable fashionâŚ
So Street Fighter Unlimited #3 is out
Spoiler
Vega captured Chun-Li when she infiltrated his mansion. Guile, Alex, and Cammy arrive after Vega publicly butchers some thugs as âparty entertainmentâ. When confronted on his Secret Society dealings, Vega says the main transaction has already occurred, and leaves them with Chun-Li, whom Vega dressed in her black dress alt for basically his own amusement, making it the âslave Leiaâ outfit of Street Fighter. A bunch of Vega statues come to life to kill the four heroes, and are revealed to be Twelve clones that Vega made in his image out of pure vanity. Worth noting that, during this comic, Vega wears his SFV default, his story costume from SFV, and a version of his SFV base with Bisonâs hat and cape. Alex wears his 3S outfit, with the shirt he normally rips off still on.
As I predicted, Ryu went to visit Retsu, who is playing a board game. Ryu asks for what Gouken would say, and Retsu takes him to a cave on the mountain, where Gouken is seen meditating. Ryu attacks him immediately, reasoning that this person could not possibly be Gouken. This is interesting, because it implies that Retsu has been with this Gouken for some time, and was even playing a board game with him before he went to meditate.
The Karin/Ibuki story was just a fight between the two of them, where Karin challenges Ibuki to prove her superiority over ninjutsu. Karin wears her A3 outfit, Ibuki uses her schoolgirl alt from SF4, and HOLY HELL THAT IS A LOT OF PANTY SHOTS. Ibuki explains that you canât prove much from a single fight because there are too many variables, so Karin decides she will fight her ten times to rule out any confounding variables.
The next issue will continue the two main fights and feature a bonus story of Juri vs Viper.
I feel they did a really good job with Vega this issue; less brutal than his Animated Movie version, but definitely vain and insane.
I enjoyed this issue too. Even though the comics have no cannon connection to the story of SFV, itâs always nice to see our favorite fighting characters in action in some kind of art form. Hereâs the link to the actual thread about the Street Fighter Unlimited Comic series

Vega, and Boxer are totally whores for the Illuminati now. Canât wait for Bison to run them over with a truck in SF6. :annoyed:

GASP! Daemos! Youâre acting as if this isnât all a part of Bisonâs larger plan! FOR SHAME!
I just needed another excuse to use that animated gif again. I swear!
is Charlie the greatest fighter in this roster, canon wise.

Probably Bison or Necalli, imo. It isnât impossible for Nash to be more powerful than Bison, but it would take some serious Illuminati magic to make a human more powerful than someone whose power is actually too great for a mortal form to contain over an extended period.

Based on what? In terms of martial arts skills, or overall power level? Being labeled the âgreatest fighterâ is so broad and generic

This whole âShin Shoryukenâ is the âoriginalâ SRK is something that has bothered me for a long time. It is the LEAST like the original. It has no trace of SnH in it and is 100% derived from an opposite mentality of SnH.

That is an SRK using improper technique and principles that are like those of the GoshoryuâŚAkumaâs technique. It cuts, it rips. The goshoryu is the âstrong rising dragonâ.

Contrast with the Shin Shoryuken that has always been an attack based solely on impact. A punch to the stomach and an uppercut to knock the opponent totally senseless. The difference between that and an SnH uppecut is night and day.

Notice the LUDICROUS requirements to hit the Shin Shoryuken in SFA3. What do you get if you fuck up? A regular SRK animation. If you get that single-pixel perfect positioning though? Shin Shoryuken with a very different animation. It does not swing up to tear, it hits precisely at the jaw and knocks out. In video game terms, that single-pixel perfection is STUPIDLY hard to do even in training. Now imagine being able to land it perfectly 100% of the time whenever you want to do it in a LIVE game. That level of consistency is entirely superhumanâŚbut it is what is required to use the Shin Shoryuken as intended. And that translates to its difficulty in the lore. If you cannot do it 100% right all the time, you shouldnât be using it at all. Gouken forbid it.
Only someone that has achieved Mu can have the level of awareness, skill and technique required to do that because they can sense everything around them because it is them and they are it. It is catching the leaf. Who can do that in SF lore AND has the necessary training in the technique? Literally only Gouken (for now).

Compared to the regular and modified variants that Ken, Akuma, and the rest use, this is the form of Shoryu that is most like the original . Gouken has developed a way to *not have his style revolve around SnH *
What I mean by âmost like the originalâ is not in SnH, but in the form. You ever wonder why the stance Oni is using resembles a bastardized version of Goukens, a style that most resembles the statues in the background of the Old Temple? The stances that Gouken and Akuma take are based off of the Guardian statues of the Nio themselves, so naturally one handed Hadoâs, and Shin Shoryuâs should be inherent to the form of the style. If anything, the Oni is tapping into SnH to aid him in performing the advanced forms. This is even confirmed when Oni attempts his Goshoryu, which has now changed to resemble the form of Shin Shoryuken. Heâs not copying Gouken, he has no reason to. The strike to the mid section and chin are inherent by the design of the art.

While I agree with you on the argument of how Mu functions compared on SnH, and how Gouken applies the use of Mu to his art, I still feel that the apparent danger in the art lies within the form. Which is why Goutetsuâs art is an Ansatsuken without heavy reliance on SNH. What we disagree upon is what a perfect form of SRK should do regardless of the power source behind it. I feel that this consecutive gut punch to chin is indeed the how the original SRK is performed, but of course the difference being that Gouken relies on the power of Nothing as his source of Hado instead of Murderous Hado.
Indeed a botched Shin Shoryu in Alpha will lead to a Metsu, but I feel this is due to the origins of the style and Goukenâs fined tuned adjustments to it. IMO the danger is because the forms of performing Shoryuâs carries the risk, and only Goukenâs Mu modified Shin Shoryu negates a life threatening risk. The danger in teaching his students any form of purified Shoryu comes from the fact they would have to learn an un purified version first to start off.
Gouken has branched from SNH and now uses his Mu. Which in turn is not only more efficient, but entirely non life threatening when used correctly.
This is what made Gouken the superior, because he kept true to the forms of his art while simultaneously changing its function to suit the future, not the past. Gouki and Gouken both strive to become true martial artists, but they have two opposing views on how to achieve this goal. The journey Ryu takes is one that literally walks this fine line, which is why he must question it because they tend to blend. One is a path of courage, and one is a path of principle, but Ryuâs the one asking which path is true?

It really bothers me that Ken gave Ryu his red ribbon in Alpha 2 and Ryu is still wearing a white head band in Alpha 3. It makes PERFECT sense for him to be wearing the red one in this time period which overlaps with SF2. Lazy Capcom.
âCanonâ SFA3 artwork
They actually thought of giving R.Mika a Zangief alt costume, complete with what looks like chest hair⌠Capcom are geniuses!
Not going to lie, that Mika Zangief alt is awesome.
Hope we see it in game one day.
the one next the Zangief alt is a Yoko Harmageddon alt.
this is one of my crazy ass theories but what if:
Necalli is connected to Ogre from the Tekken series either as an emissary or incarnate? Both of these characters are Aztec based and searching for strong souls.
Since Akuma is in Tekken 7 kicking ass, Necalli(Ogre) is doing the same in the Street Fighter universe. Both were hidden bosses in SFXT if that means anything.
This is just some crazy thinking and Iâm hoping this isnât the case.

Akuma is canon to the Tekken universe, but the Tekken universe is not canon to the Street Fighter universe. Therefore, there is no connection whatsoever between Necalli, and Ogre or any part of the Tekken universe at this moment in time.
iâm hoping the tekken universe stays non canon but you never know would harada and ono flip the script.
