So we get to see Ging in action in the new chapter… apparently he gets challenged to a fight by one of Pariston’s men… (I’m not entirely sure how the fight started but the loser gets fucked up, lol… (edit: it wasn’t really a fight) regardless we still don’t know what Ging’s nen abilities are).
Have to say, this chapter surprised me quite a bit.
Manga spoilers: [details=Spoiler]What Ging did reminded me of what Raoh’s aura did to Rei during their fight. Anyway, this chapter further solidified that Pariston’s a sick creep, he gets off of being hated and hurts the things he loves. Seems the school girl is the strongest out of the group (sans probably Ging), wanna see what she’s made of Get to see a glimpse of Mizaistom’s ability and it looks like Kurapika and Leorio are headed to the Dark Continent. I’d be surprised if Kurapika can keep himself in check for the trip.
Leorio’s practising to be a doctor, so the trip’ll be a good opportunity for him to learn a lot of stuff and bring it back to his studies…in theory. In reality, he’s taking a huge risk and he’s not exactly the strongest fighter. Don’t even think Kurapika’d be able to hack it there in terms of strength, but surviving in the Dark Continent is also about resolve, which Kurapika has in spades, especially if it leads to him achieving his goal. [/details]
Yes that’s correct, Chain jain is only meant for PT if he uses it on anyone but PT he dies through judgement chain on his own heart.
Combat prowess and intelligence, Kurapika i would say would be tops amongst the hunters. I put Kurapika above Killua, and maybe slightly below Hisoka. Hes more than qualified to be a Zodiac based on his strengths alone, so managing in the Dark world shouldnt be a problem.
But the real problem at the moment, the dude is mentally fucked. Hes so bitter about his clan thats hes walking some dark path. Not really sure how he will handle himself on a boat for 2 month with the man has has his peoples eyes. Furthermore, he seem extremely iono selfish with how hes been acting since the TP arc. Didnt go to the election, didnt see Gon in the hospital, cold persona meeting Killua. Not really confident he can really aid the zodiac when they need him. Hes seems to be in a “your on your own” kind of mentality.
Kurapika made it clear that he wasn’t accepting the trip because he felt we was qualified enough to aid the Zodiacs. There are a lot of hunters who are more qualified than he is and Hisoka isn’t one of them, not even close, but I’m hoping Hisoka somehow finds a way to get on that boat. As for Gon and Killua, I see no reason for them to go to the dark continent.
Eh, wouldn’t bee too hard to manufacture a reason for Killua to go as long as it revolves around Alluka.
Gon doesn’t even really need a strong reason to go given the fact that very nearly everyone he cares about is already going. It isn’t like he’s got anything more important going on at the moment.
Hisoka will go literally just for shits and giggles.
I’m mostly interested in when and for what reason the Phantom Troupe shows up next. I assume they’ll get roped along for some reason, too strongly tied to Kurapika’s plot to miss out.
So theres basically two known teams that are setting sail to the dark world now right? The crew on Pariston ship, and the other being zodiac with Beyond? I wont be a bit surprise if another ship sneaks in with Gon and Co.
Why would hisoka go? He is looking fo t he same thing the president was looking for-- challenge through battle. New world is just nature being a totally asshole
Hisoka joined the Phantom Troupe and put in months of work just for the sake of trying to set up a fight with Chrollo Lucifer, so I could easily see him joining one of the expeditions in the hopes of getting to fight any of the many top-tiers that will be going (at a minimum: Beyond, Pariston, Ging, the Zodiacs).
Prior to the new arc, its pretty straight forward plot line. It just his new world arc shenanigans thats uber confusing due to the amount of talking and horrible translation thats coming along with it.
Hisoka’s only went to the election so he could fight Ging. Ging having been missing for the longest time, and him revealing himself now is Hisokas best and maybe only opportunity to fight him. I want to see what Hisokas power gauge on Ging would be.
I make the best of both Mangapanda and mangastream. Its not much TBH
That’s what I thought but he has no interest in challenging any of the current Zodiacs and I doubt he’d go along just to challenge Ging or Beyond (who we know nothing about). I still can’t believe Hisoka wasn’t in the ant arc.
There’s a 0.04% chance of anyone surviving the expedition but Beyond managed to survive it 3 times so I’ll make a prediction… I think Beyond and Ging will be the only survivors at the end of this arc.
As for Gon and Killua, don’t they still have that issue with Kite to deal with? and what happened to Gyro?..
No, the series taking a year long break is giving me a shit fit. The last thing I truly remember is Netero blowing up the King Ant. I don’t remember who Beyond is (assume its Netereo’s son), I vaguely remember some convoluted election process that seemed to be nothing more than a “long ass introductory”, and since coming back, the majority of the plot has centered around those new characters and names that have been unimportant for the majority of the series short of Ging. When I think HxH I think Gon, I think Killua (I always pronounce it like khalua haha), and Hisoka, everything else is so past tense that I just don’t remember. It’s not a knock on anything, I just literally don’t remember anything, its like going to back to college to finish up your major after dropping out, I need a refresher on everything.
I agree, from humble beginnings this manga has gotten very complicated.
The current plot line can best be summarized as a new unknown playing field being introduced for Hunters to explore.
Beyond is supposedly Netereo’s son who has a hard on for the undiscovered area call the Dark Continent and could only try to go there after Netereo’s death because Netereo banned anyone from trying to go after several disastrous attempts. Now with his pops gone, he is using the overly complicated geo politics of the HxH universe to force the Hunters Association and the government to let him and some like minded crazy folk go.
Hunters Association is now led by a dog looking chick named Cheadle and a bunch of other animal looking folk, Kurapika and Leorio seem poised to make their own comebacks with this new arc and possibly take center stage (or as much as the main heroes can given how much of an ensemble piece this manga is) and Ging is poised to try to take down what is the equivalent of mangaka’s will in the form of Pariston a partially evil trollish manipulator that does it for shits and giggles.
Me I’m on the edge of my seat wondering how deep we will get before the next hiatus.
I bet that snake has that crazy venom that makes your body twist up into a rope. I am with the crowd of people that want Gon and Killua to do more actual fighting and developing as opposed to just random training arcs that don’t really ever amount to shit.
