Did you guys see the damage off shoot down backbreaker in the newest vids? HOLY SHIT, I think it did more than SPD!!!
I think capcom might be giving most of Hugos command grab damage to shoot down backbreaker rather than gigas. When you think about it, Hugo might not hit as hard with his SPD, but he has MORE options with his grabs than zangief, thus more opportunities to land them. Giefs SPD game is gimped once the opponent jumps, but for Hugo, they only made him have to change the input is all
Makes the damage differences make sense now.

anyone else hoping they sort of slow down Hugos idle animation? I know he’s supposed to look like he has Parkinsons disease, but he just looks so weird seizuring around in this game. In 3rd Strike it isn’t as spastic

I’ve been enjoying the Hugo videos and it looks like he’s got some decent range on those combos. I expected more throw damage but I guess that’s Zangief’s territory. I hope there’s some synergy between the two.
Hugo has a few more options than Zangief, so I think the throw damage will always be Zangiefs thing.
Those clap combos were insane. st.fierce has some herp derp range for them to work.

Oh his over head?. Yea you can already tell that people will get hit with that at least 5x a match and he can go right into his launcher from it. I wonder how that clap loop will work in the corner. From mid screen the opponents get pushed back but how will that work in the corner. Will Hugo start to get pushed back? from what I can tell there seems to be no if stun deterioration on grounded opponents.

Andre, I mean Hugo, was one of my favourite characters in SFIII, I really hope they don’t change him too much
I noticed in those vids that Hugo has way too little recovery on a whiffed SPD
It looks like if you neutral jump it, he can punish you on the way down
what i like is that he can use his air grab to jump across the entire screen over a fireball and land right next to the guy while hes still in the middle of recovery from tossing a fireball
