Okay, now I have my own questions to SE users. Particularly those who have modded the crap out of it (as I plan to with mine).
Q1.) What is the BEST way to cut art for the SE? Due to the lip in the SE’s metal panel, you can’t just sit it down and use it as a template to cut the art like a TE. Only way I can think of getting through this is by getting the artwork adhered to the metal panel first, then cutting. But that still seems odd to me.
Q2.) Has anyone tried using some kind of filler for the stupid small gap between the end of the Control Panel and the main body of the box? And if so, what did you use? Otherwise I’ll have to go with JB Weld or something of the sort.
Q3.) Anyone know of a really good spot to place a Chimp?

Thanks though, the guide is not bad. Although a tad vague (doesn’t explain specifics enough).

So, I think I will be attempting to post up my guide on modding an SE (assuming stock parts are upgraded). Although I don’t possess a good camera to take pics, I think the guide would work out much better than without em. I can’t do all the mods this month (money) but I will have it finished hopefully next month.

You know the feeling when a DIY starts off so damn good then halfway trough it fucks up and you’re all ;-;

It started off great, sprayed lightly. the paint layer wasn’t nearly as thin as I originally thought. Causing me to coat it again a day later which caused massive overspray.

It ate trough some of the plastic in the start/select concave WTF!?

My chun-li cut out around the turbo buttons didn’t come out smooth.

The parts are coming from Lizardlick Wednesday, When it’s all built and done for I may sell it for 100-120 on craigslist. Then buy a TE stick, bat top and get the artwork professionally cut out from someone on here.

Should have done it from the get go to be honest, damn me for being cheap. It never works out.

Use a flat head screwdriver to remove that little black clip at the bottom of the shaft.

Thanks luck but i got something else:

oh god, i think someone must of stepped on the usb cord, the lil round connector got bent out of shape…

I got it back it it’s correct position

but now when i go to turn it on from the xbox button, it won’t respond… and when i turn on the console itself (with it plugged in) i get 4 green bars but no controller configuration (player 1, 2, etc…)

Is this because i have no buttons and joystick in it???

O jesus this is bad, MVC3 on a controller!!! aaaahhhhhhhhhhh this is almost as bad as RROD

When I opened up my SE I’m looking at the black terminal thingy and I’m wonder which one is the ground.

and how would I go on and get the home/turbo buttons working? Would I havbe to take it apart and solder it?

Also what’s the best way yo remove the left over residue after removing the original art?

hey I own a sf4 se fightstick and I can only get a sanwa 8 way JLF-TP-8Y which means it does not come with a mounting plate just wondering how hard it is to remove and use the mounting plate on the old joystick that comes with the fightstick any help or tips would be appreciated thanks

as long as you have a philipps screw driver you’re good to go. it’s simple.

They are the same theoretically, yes you can get it. Only difference is that the joystick harness orientation.

for anyone who doesn’t want to use kinkos (or doesn’t have access to one):

Having your art regularly laminated and applying it with carpet tape (putting strips on the corners and wherever you can) works wonders.

You still have to cut it properly though, and that is still a bitch to do.

My only local option for lamination is a local Office Max. And they do a very poor lamination, with a machine you imagine you would use at home.
Their lamination has lots of hiccups and waves when you see light reflected on it. Looks a lot like water when you reflect light on it. When I look at others’ laminated art, it is most of the time a smooth shine to it when light is reflected.

So I modded out an SE with sanwas and everything seems to work except i cant charge my focus attacks now. I can pull of the lv 1 but it wont hold the charge…
