The circled isn’t Turbo PCB though.
Laugh.
DOH! lol yea i see I had it backwards! its just a connector for the buttons… some call it a barrierstrip but its not something you can just buy. still say to call madcatz and see if they are feeling nice…
still wondering also if you can use a SE turbo in a TE and vice versa
Well its cracked and I am assuming as a result of that two of the buttons don’t work. I am assuming that because well two of the buttons dont work. I just replaced all the crap buttons with sanwas and rewired it myself (that sucked haha). So I need to get a new one pronto. Can I get a link to that trading mecca you mentioned JDM? And I went to print out the art at Kinkos and they did it wrong so it looks like crap. I think this might be the last stick I mod hahaha.
you can look around for older posts or post up a “WTB” add for that part.
Are the button and joystick types the same for SE as they are for TE?
Yes.
Thank you my good man
question.
Im trying to install a TaeYoung Fanta (Korean Stick) into the SE.

problem is i can’t do that cuz of that wire harness thing. Was wondering can i mod the PCB or the wire harness is a way to get around that?
You could, for example, solder the tabs from the stick to a 1/10" on center square pin header (common stuff) and slide that into the harness clip. Just be sure you’ve got them in the right order. There are several other options. I’d expect mounting the stick to be more of a challenge unless the screw holes match.
I apologize if this question has been asked and answered before, but 52 pages is a lot to read to see if it has been. What size are the action buttons? 30mm?
can someone pull up some images of clean TE/SE dual mod please :D?
just looking for examples of good inside wiring
OOh WEE cant wait to do some mods on my SE thats comin in!! Thx for this awesome guide (I kno im late) but snagged one of these babies when they were $14 on walmart and so excited to mod and play it!!
'Sup. Was going to post this in a new thread, but I figure it fits better here:
I’m a little new to stick modding/building, but I’m pretty good with electronics/wiring/etc, and I know my way around arcade parts well enough. I’m considering purchasing an SE Fightstick and replacing the parts with aftermarket stuff. What I’m wondering though, is if anybody knows how much clearance there is on the inside of an SE Fightstick for pushbuttons.
I’m really not the biggest fan of the feeling of Sanwa pusbuttons (don’t hate, personal preference), I guess I’m just too used to the machines I’ve been playing on at local arcades for pretty much my entire life. As such, I want to go with HAPP for that authentic North American pushbutton feel.
I’ve read around that HAPP buttons are just a tad too long for the case, but I’ve been looking into HAPP’s Ultimate Pushbuttons which are about a fifth of an inch shorter. I’m figuring they might be just enough shorter to fit.
I’ve been told the Ultimate pushbuttons aren’t the most reliable things in the world, but I’d trust something from HAPP over something from, say, Yenox any day. Even if they’re not the most reliable, I’m willing to take it if I can manage to shoehorn them into an SE box without having to extend the backplate outward to make room. I really am that much of a sucker for clicky concave buttons.
So any help on the topic would be extremely helpful. Many a thanks in advance!
EDIT:
Additional thought, does anybody know if it would be at all possible to frankenstein a HAPP plunger into a Yenox housing (since they’re about short enough to fit the SE), and then use the Cherry switch from the HAPP button?
can I use a HAPP stick and buttons on a TE?
No you can not. HAPP sticks are too large to fit into the body of the TE.
fuuuuuuuuu, if I want the happ buttons what should I use?
Um, i know you say the quick disconnects are suppose to come off with a little force, but i’m definitely applying force and it isn’t coming off? I don’t want to break it either.
On SE/TE sticks they can be clamped on pretty solidly. It can help to grab them with pliers or to start them by weding a screwdriver between the button and the clip.
Fingers + needlenose pliers works really well.
Just so I know is it okay to just trash this stuff, or does it technically need to be recycled or anything?
