The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

The SE is pretty recent and the PCB probably doesn’t contain any heavy metals. I kept the components I swapped out in case they’d be handy for a different project.

What is the name of the wire that connects the push buttons?

Some tips broke off while using pliers to pull them off, need replacements.

the hook-up wires? I think madcatz uses 22guage stranded… or 24… but either will work. you’ll need new disconnects as well

But what would i ask for searching online or dropping into a hardware store? “Disconnects” for stranded copper wire?

I figure these wires would be pre-made with the tips somewhere.

you can get the disconnects at any local hardware store… 18-24 guage AWG. usually have red tabs on them

Why would you keep the shitty stock buttons?? Going to use them for a test stick or something?

emergency replacement parts… I wouldnt throw them away they still work…

sorry can anyone help me look at a stick? they have one here at amazon:
Amazon.com: Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK OEM Black Ball Handle Arcade Joystick 4 & 8 Way Adjustable (Mad Catz SF4 Tournament Joystick Compatible): Everything Else

and im wondering would thisbe able to be swtiched with my SE stick?

that’s far too expensive, if you are going to buy a stick buy it at lizardlick.

Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK Joystick

SO I was thinking of buy this SE from Walmart since it is cheap (like $40) and SSFIV from Amazon for like $19, so I play Street Fighter since I was a kid back in Brazil, but ever since I moved here, I never played it, so I am rusty but I despise the 360 controller when I first played SFIV.

So my question is, if I buy the SE should I go ahead and order the parts that are mentioned here? or do I wait, or do I just go the fightpad way (and are they good anyways, for whenever you got a friend over that doesn’t have the stick, or at least a cheap 2nd option?)

Thank you

its just that it came WITH a balltop too.

I would definitely replace the buttons at least right away since they will break pretty fast. And the buttons dont feel very good when you hit them. The joystick is ok imo but i would chance it to a sanwa or change the spring since the i think the one in the se is a bit stiff.

If you buy a joystick and a ball top from lizardlick it wont even come close to that price. With that amazon price you could get a joystick and like 3 ball tops and change them depending on what ur mood is >>

EDIT wow it doubled >>

lol thx ill take lizlick but what size balltip is it?

35mm. Sanwa or Seimitsu will fit.

FYI the balltop from the stock joystick fits as well, if you don’t mind the colour.

Actually that’s why im replacing them, because the jab became faulty after a few months, and i wouldn’t trust any of the others to last all that long either.

I got mine at Mad Catz (Gameshark) store and removed almost $10 of shipping thanks to their holiday free shipping and 10% off special.

in fact i think imight just keep the white. It’ll match the color scheme

the fight stick or JUST the joystick? got mine on amazon for 48 dollars I believe

Was wondering if you can use this method for the Wii se stick also??
