The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

just a fast questions for you guys. ive had my te stick for about a month now and the a button has started sticking in the upper corner of the button. should i send it back for a replacement or just grease it… btw is their a guide for how to properly grease the thing??? and where can i find silicone grease thanks guys.

Silicone grease is for the Joystick.
Just take out the Button and clean with alcohol or something.

^ Cut or file away the 4 small tabs just under the lip of the button shells.

Hey, just read the post and I wanted to switch my restrictor plate on my stick.
Between the post and a friend, I cant seem to figure out if I’m looking at the right one and since I know that things have to be pretty precise, I wanted to double-check before I picked this up.

I’m looking at the Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate on Lizard lick and it looks like the one in the pictures. Can someone confirm that it is compatable with my stick (SE Madkatz)

also on a sidenote, I was looking at the meshball joystick tops and they look pretty spiffy. Do they help performance much if at all? I’m a twitch gamer and even a bit of grip can make a difference to me, so please let me know.

What can I use to keep the the wire harness from slipping off the stick’s 5-pin connectors? I noticed that the wire harness had some some sort of residue on before I modded it (like this: http://jeffmadriaga.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/16052009190.jpg). Was this to prevent it from slipping off? What is this and where can I get some?

Try taking a flat head and using that to wedge it out by twisting it left and right.

It wouldn’t fit for me, but others have said it works for them.

It was glue. You can just use tape or something.

Thing is, I can’t find anywhere to tape it to because there’s not much plastic on the pins themselves.

Hi Guys,

I had a question. Has anybody had a problem when they plug in the 5 pin into a JLF and only the DOWN direction works? It also happens when I plug in a LS-32. But when I plug the stock stick back in, all the directions work properly though. I find it weird I would get 2 defective sticks brand new like this. I don’t know what else to try.

That is because you plugged connector upside-down.

I blew it! :frowning:

Thanks jdm.

meshballs just look pretty no performance advantage

Slightly off topic but I didn’t get answers in another thread.

What are the mod options available between Seimitsu and Sanwa 30mm buttons (screw-in type)? Like is it possible to put a Sanwa microswitch into a Seimitsu button? Exchange plungers? Shafts? Etc.

I ask because my goal is to get a transparent rim with a Sanwa plunger (I prefer convex to flat tops) with a Sanwa microswitch.

In addition, how difficult is it to fit RS-SG switches into a TE Stick?

Interchangeable Nuts.
That is all.

Sanwa RS-SG Microswitches can go into the three 30mm Screw-in Buttons that Seimitsu offer.
But will not be totally perfect; Plunger Slot does not match Microswitch Actuator.
Still works though.

Your goal is only able to be done with Seimitsu PS-14-K.
But you don’t want Snap-in Buttons.

If I could find blue and clear PS-14-K’s, I would go that route. But I cannot, ha ha. Would Sanwa plungers work with 14-K’s?

I just said that your goal is able to be done with PS-14-K.

Here is your goal:

And the only Seimitsu Buttons that have flat are PS-14-G and PS-14-D.
So I don’t know why you would not like the others.

I actually have Colorless PS-14-K and Blue PS-14-K.
No sharing.

Exactly what you just mentioned.

Sanwa’s are a bit more convex from my experience and I have a set of OBSF-30’s with plunger colors I like (the dark blue and dark hai), and Seimitsu don’t really have comparable colors. I wanted to get transparent rims so I could put an led underneath the buttons to help illuminate the etching I will be having on a plexi I will be doing.

Do the Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm Pushbuttons fit in the SE? They’re basically the exact same as the Seimitsu PS-14-K 30mm Pushbuttons. Just wondering before I purchase buttons.

Yes.

My hk and 3xK buttons crap out on me randomly :frowning: Sometimes in the middle of matches… Then the work randomly a week or so later! I tried opening it up and switching around/ tightening the quick disconnects, but it still doesnt help…any suggestions?

Use some needle nose pliers. Works wonders compared to the cuts i got trying the first four Qds.

I THINK I have the answer to this question already, but will a JLF-P1-S “S” mounting plate work in an SE. I want to add some length to my shaft, and I was thinking that this would be the best way, but the only way I see it fitting in there, is if I turn it sideways, which will probably be too wide anyway.
