The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

I don’t think you would have to buy a new PCB…nor do they come with one. Most likely have Madcatz repair or you can install another one.

PR0BLEMZ talking about the Joystick PCB.

dam it seems like these quickdisconnects dont wanna come off, any tips guy?

get some pliers. lift up the plastic sleeve. clamp onto the metal portion of the qd. and pull.

edit: just completed my full seimitsu, dual modded stick. the shaft is a little lower since i dont have a S plate but i kinda like it a little lower.

got it, thanks!

The best way I have found for taking off the quick disconnect is to push up the plastic cover, grip the flat bit with a pair of pliers horizontally and pull evenly, very carefully, with both hands.

Some of them are always going to be a pain and there isn’t much you can do about it. I’m guessing that once they have been removed and replaced a couple times they wont be so stiff but as I mentioned earlier, one of the original buttons just fell to pieces when I was removing the quick disconnect and I was madcareful. (see what I did there?)

Just as well though, the original buttons are pretty doodoo anyway.

bought sanwa OBSF-30 buttons and when putting them into my sf4 se stick they wouldn’t go down all the way, i trimmed the art around the edges to make sure that wasn’t messing with it and actually had to grind down some of the tabs on the sides of the buttons to get them to fit…

just wondering what might have caused this or if anyone else has had the same experience

^ I had a Sanwa modded SE stick too but I didnt recall any of my buttons had problems passing through the holes…

Same happened to me, very snug fit. I noticed it was only with one colour of buttons I ordered. I’m guessing this is down to manufacturing variances.

Does anyone know the size of the start select buttons?

anyone know if it’d be possible to swap the stock stick on my SE for the optical stick from a DC ASCII FT Stick (some pics in this thread)? the FT stick doesn’t have the 5-pin layout like the modern JLF or SE stock. i’m not very good with wiring, so could someone help me with a diagram if possible? thanks in advance!

would a lb-30n fit into a ls-32-01?

24 mm. I think…someone please verify this!

Yes.
Sanwa LB-30N with Thread Adapter.

No it is not.
They are smaller than 24mm.
Now, on Tournament Edition, they are 24mm.

I do not have the Arcade Stick talked about in this Thread, so I cannot measure.

the start and the select buttons are proprietary and honestly i’m far too lazy to open one of the boxes to look and see what size. they are probably a little smaller than 24mm though.

Yes, possible.

The connector that connects Mad Catz PCB to Mad Catz Joystick, cut it off.
Crimp on Quick Disconnects or use Terminal Strip.
Tap, Splice, or solder wire to the +5V.
Connect Directional and Ground.

Where have people put their RJ45 ports and MC Cthulhus in their SEs? Want to get some idea of where is best to put them.

thanks a lot!
also… what’s the difference between a ps-14-kn and a ps-14-k? would the ps-14-kn fit into a se?
