The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

Hmm, can anyone elaborate on this?

Can someone please post a comparison pic of the SE stock buttons & the Sanwa OBSF-30 button?

Iā€™m having the same problem. All I could get out was one and that was a breeze.I have no clue how to get these final 3 stripped screws out.

Thankfully I also ordered a JLF stick,Iā€™m hoping the screws on that mounting plate come out easier since I need to rotate the PCB.

Iā€™d like to know this as well. If there is or isnā€™t a need to rotate the PCB since people are complaining about removing/stripping screws from the mounting plate.

Downside & Matrixadw - the only way I know of to get stripped screws out is to drill them out with this tool kit I have. Other than that I donā€™t know any other way.

Has anyone complained about the screws on the Sanwa mounting plates stripping? I havenā€™t seen that. The screws on the madcatz mounting plate feel like they have been tighted as hard as possible plus glued in or something.Itā€™s pretty absurd.

Now that I have opened it I believe it could be possible to install the stick without having to rotate the PCB,but that could just be wishful thanking on my part.Hopefully my stick comes this week so I can test it out.

Thanks Sileighty.Dang oh well.

Will the PS-14-Gā€™s work? By all means they seem like they should.

I certainly hope so, I just bought a bunch of 'em!

Also, how much work is it to get an LS-56-01 in there?

First thingā€¦ Your guide is VERY much appreciated

Iā€™m 100% new to modding and was reading some people have to rotate the PCB with certain Sanwa sticks. If you wouldnā€™t mind helping me out. Which of the sticks you mentioned above or from: http://lizardlick.com/pages/sanwa_jlf_faq.shtml do not require rotation of the PCB.

Iā€™d like to make things as easy as possible for myself and reduce the chances of me breaking something.

1st post, truly appreciate the guide & thanks in advance for replying : o )

Unless you guys are taking the mounting plate off to use it with a different stick, stop bothering trying to get the screws out. You can access everything from the other side. Pull off the restrictor plate, the pcb comes right out after that. After that you can take the e-clip off and the spring/washer and all the other little plastic bits come right out. No need to fuss with mounting plate at all.

I warned you all about the screws! And yes, the Sanwa ones seem to be just as easy to strip.

How about the screws holding the stick to the housing? Iā€™m assuming my JLF from LizardLick will not come with screws to mount the stick to the case, so Iā€™d have to reuse the ones holding the MadCatz stick to the housing. Are they easily stripped as well?

I had no issues getting the screws that hold the plate to the case out,the ones with the red glue on them.

How does one pull off the restrictor plate off the stock stick? I canā€™t seem to get it off.I assumed the plate still having the screws in were causing some problem.

o cool so the jlf tp 8t from lizard lick will work thnx

Itā€™s a little tricky on this stick. Usually you can just grab two tabs and pull up but i had to wedge one out with the help of a flat screwdriver. Basically just put it under the plate between the tab and turn/push up a little and it pops right out.

Damn that worked, still hard as hell to get off.One corner did not want to pop up.

Thanks.

Ughhh my PCB

So does the joystick parts that come from LizardLick, do they come with a mounting plate as well or do we need to purchase that seperately?

Because spending more $ on this stick isā€¦:arazz:

I think Iā€™m finally ready to order my parts!

Okay, Iā€™ve been stressing over what to do about a stick for a couple of weeks now. Iā€™ve finally decided Iā€™m keeping my pre-order for the MC FightStick SE, and just immediately replacing the stick and buttons. Iā€™ve never modified a stick before in my life, and to be honestā€¦this is the first stick Iā€™ll have used in about 10 years. Thanks to all the helpful people of SRK, I think Iā€™ve narrowed down my choices for parts. Will these work?

*** Sanwa JLF-TP-8T Joystick
SKU: JLF-TP-8T-

  • Seimitsu LB-39 Ball Top
    SKU: LB-39 Bubbletop

  • Seimitsu PS-14-KN Pushbutton
    SKU: ps14kn**

Iā€™m wanting a blue bubbletop with transparent blue buttons. Iā€™m aware that Iā€™ll have to file a little for one of them, due to the transparent buttons being screw-in. These will all be coming from LizardLick. It seems that the stick comes with the mounting plate and restricter, so am I good to go with this order? Or am I missing something else I might need? I guess I might need new screws. With the screws that come stock with the stick standing a good chance of getting stripped, what kind of screws would I need? Would my new Sanwa stick come with the screws?

Thanks in advance for any helpful input!

Great mod for the only 360 stick I really want to invest money in. Thereā€™s been a lot of great stuff coming from ShinJN about modding the TE, but do anyone who has been tinkering around with the SE think about the spacing and the setup a dual PCB? The SE is much smaller than than the TE so itā€™s a question of concern since it doesnā€™t have a cord storage comparment.

Two Questions

The fact that the LS-32-01 has an S-mounting plate isnā€™t a problem is it?

And on akihabara shop there is a warning under each sanwa stick that it does NOT include JLF-H cable. Is that needed?

Thanks
