I’m curious as well because I want to order from Lizard Lick. But I personally am not in a hurry, I probably won’t mod for another month or so. I’m sure by then there will be plenty of people who have modded.
Okay I got an e-mail from chad and he said it will work perfectly. I guess no rotation needed or anything.
Chad as in the guy who manages LizardLick?
Yeah, he said "That stick will work perfectly in the SE…
Thanks,
Chad"
So go for broke, guys!!!
It will work, but it seems you’d have to rotate the PCB. The microswitches are on the PCB and with the default orientation the directions wouldn’t correspond the way you’d like when mounting the stick so it would have to be rotated. This is how I understand it based on this http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g217/NiteWalkerGR/Misc%20Pics/sanwakopplingen.jpg It’s very easy to rotate though http://lizardlick.com/pages/sanwa_jlf_faq.shtml
I’ve been saying this a lot on these forums lately but…somebody correct me if I’m wrong! I’m still trying to learn all this stuff.
Hey Dude thank you very much for the guide… looks very easy to do.
I know this sounds real noobie but these are the right parts and will fit in clean
Stick : JLF-TP-8YT
Buttons : OBSF-30
Kinda new to this stick scene and really want to have a good quality stick for SFIV
Oh and is gremlinsolutions.co.uk reliable ? if anyone knows :]
Thank you
Kai
got a guide or know how to spill on how you did it? we have a presoldered chtulu board and the stick ready and open to start.
I actually took it out since my installation instructions and pics only use the snap on buttons. I don’t have any screw on ones laying around anymore so I decided to just leave it out. Just wanted to make things a bit easier for people who are completely new to modding where they don’t have to do anything but remove and replace.
Yep those will work just fine. Not sure on gremlinsoluations, the only places I’ve dealt with personally is akihabara and lizardlick, so someone else will need to chime in on them.
Working on the layout, but I’ve been busy so I’ll update whenever I can get a chance to create a template and everything else.
Oh and for everyone asking about the LS-31, get the LS-31-01. I always just call it LS-31. I edited it on the first post.
Oh it’s no problem friend. Just trying to be helpful to the guy. I think a big reason you’re getting these questions is due to the KN’s being the only ones available on all the major online retailers. The regular snap-ins are mostly sold out. So people are wondering if it’s cool to just go the KN route instead of the regular K’s.
Ok, I’ve gone to every shop. Searched google like mad. Need your help Sileighty.
Is there, in existence, an octagonal restrictor guide for the Seimitsu LS-32 series? I can’t find one anywhere. There IS one for the LS-33, LS-56 and others, but not the 32 series.
I found one for Sanwa JLF’s, but I really want one for the Seimitsu. I prefer the shorter throws, and I’m just not getting used to doing Dragon Punches with these Square gates. I have a headache just trying.
If anyone can get me a part number, that would be great. From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t even exist, or simply has been unavailable so long, none of the shops list it.
When you buy a LS32, the blue bit at the bottom is the restrictor guide. Out of box it is set up for a square gate, but can be set up for a 2 way or an 8 way by repositioning the blue bit. Just be sure to buy a LS-32-01 or LS-32-02, the base LS-32 doesn’t have the 5 pin joystick connector.
No wonder I couldn’t find an adapter for the stupid thing, it comes with one. I’m such a moran. Thanks a bunch.
I just got done putting a Sanwa JLF-TP-8T with octagonal gate, 6 white Sanwa OBSF-30’s and 2 Black Sanwa Plugs (in the two far right spots) of my PS3 SE. I wasn’t a fan of the stock stick at all, but it’s really really nice now. I had a HFS3 modded with the same stuff, but I just put that in a box after using the modded SE. I got a TE as well, and I’ve got to spend some time to see which stick I like more now…
So i’m guessing you can use the 8T from lizardlick? Did the connector pins cause a problem being in a different spot than the 8Y?
Ready to buy the JLF-TP-8T from lizardlick, just want to make sure it doesn’t cause any problems…if you could post a picture that would be great!!
DIY PCB Rotation for the JLF-TP-8T please! Thank you! :wgrin::wgrin::wgrin:
can someone pelase help with me this…
Any tips on how to deal with stripped screws on the mounting bracket of the stock stick? I guess I don’t really need to unscrew it seeing as the Sanwa JLF I bought comes with one, however I would be interested in seeing just how bad my stick screwed up its PCB. My stock stick no longer registers up commands. I can hear what I am assuming is the loose washer when I move the stick around.
The RG version ‘supposed’ to last 5 times longer than OBSF30 due to new, longer & harder switch. But I haven’t tested it personally, even the regular OBSF30 is tough as hell.
It ‘might’ fit to the SE stick, but due to the longer switch, I think you have to carefully rearrange the cables so the QD won’t get bend by the bottom plate.
As for the stick, it should fit AFAIK.
Has anyone had any issues installing a different Seimitsu stick other than the LS-32? I want to try out an LS-56.
