The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

I’ve been reading up on this, and the JLF-TP-8T is the same as the JLF-TP-8YT except that the PCB is rotated 90 degrees. So the 5-pin connector will be in a different position. You may have to take the stick apart to rotate it so it becomes the JLF-TP-8YT. It doesn’t look like there’s enough clearance for the 5-pin connector to be placed on the sides like how the 8T is configured. If I’m wrong somebody please correct me.

Here are instructions on how to rotate it. Seems very simple! http://lizardlick.com/pages/sanwa_jlf_faq.shtml

okay thnx dude

but im going to go ahead and get the LS-32

but again being the noob that i am i don’t know whether to get the

LS-32 or the LS-32-01

Its bin so long i think i forget the differences between the two. The main thing i think is that he Ls-32-01 comes with a pcb that has the 5 way connector on it, so that way you can you a sanwa harness on it. Ls-32 does not have a 5 pin connector i believe. so you would have to put quick dissconects on each wire and run them seperately to each micro switch…some1 correct if im wrong its bin awhile.

One thing you might want to keep in mind is that a seimitsu has a shorter stick height and a shorter travel and feels just a tad bit stiffer then a sanwa. So if and when you go to the arcade you might have to re adjust to get the feel of a sanwa. Could mean winning or loseing if you happen to do a tourney on the arcade which uses sanwa. But for home play or console tourneys you won’t be disapointed i love it. If you dont have a sanwa to practice on from time to time this might be something to consider.

hmmmm

yea i think i’ll just stick to sanwa’s

but i can’t find any JLF-TP-8YT’s or JLF-TP-8Y’s

on lizardlick and that other site mentioned in here doesn’t work

do you know any other sites that i could try

i just want a stick that doesn’t “stick” anymore:sad:

Dude I just modded my SE fightstick with a LS-32-01 and u need that one because it does have a 5 pin connector…if they dont have any sanwas get a LS-32-01 they are just as good…or if you want to I read somewhere in these forums a LS-40-01 is great for games with double tap Dashes (or Forward Forward)

now that i think about it

im not going to enter any tournys or events

im just gonna play it online and with friends for fun

so im just going to order it

thanks everyone for their help

btw how long does it take for it to get here?

i ordered the regular shipping

but i’d like to have the day i get SF

Good choice as I plan to do the same and a lot of others dont have the time or gas money to go to the limited Arcade locations of SFIV …lizard lick is very good about getting you your item as soon as possible…I ordered my LS-32-01 along with the seimitsu clear (white screw buttons) and two button plugs and everything got here in like 2 days. Your in good hands at Lizard Lick…

wow sounds good

thanks again for your help, i really appreciate it

I play shooters, as well as fighters. So I think you made a good choice. Shorter throw and quicker return to the deadzone is awesome for shooters. It’s damn good for fighters too. I honestly prefer it over Sanwa, but I prefer Pepsi over Coke too.

It’s all about taste.

Okay I think I understand which parts to order, problem is I don’t quite get the mounting plate. I’m new to modding so will I be fine trying to use the one that comes with the stick or should I order Sanwa JLF-P1-S “S” MOUNTING PLATE?

Other than that I believe this should be all I need?

Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton
SKU: obsf30

Sanwa OBSM Hole Plug
SKU: Sanwa_hp

Sanwa JLF-TP-8T Joystick
SKU: JLF-TP-8T-

would the OBSF30RG and JLF-TP-8YT-SK be able to fit in it?

what is the difference between the OBSF30 and the RGs?(other than price and the longer switch)

A lot of the questions being asked on page 5 are probably best answered visually (like mounting plate and button stuff) with the great videos ShinJN put up.

http://www.youtube.com/user/shinjnSRK

At the top of this page you’ll see: Mad Catz FightStick TE Tech Review 8 Videos

To the right of that hit the “Play All” link and you’ll see ShinJN doing unholy things to a TE stick in 8 videos. As he’ll mention a lot of that pertains to the SE as well.

How did I know? The beijing King has good tastes when it comes to “flashy” controllers. lol. Thanks for the help bro. Now before I finalize my project, are you having an issue playing PS2/PS1 games with your fightstick? For some reason, mines doesn’t register at all. Software or Controller designed JUST for PS3.

Hmm interesting I never tried to play any ps2/p21 games with the stick. Are you playing those games on your ps3 that is backwards compatiable?? Or are you playing on a ps2?

I had an interesting issue with my SE when I modded it yesterday. When I pulled the 5 pin connector out the wires fell out of it lol. So I had to look at the pcb, look at the JLF pcb guide, and try to figure out what wire is what without clipping off the zip tie. Took like 30 minutes but it worked finally lol.

Seems like i didnt make the post at the top of this page in time yesterday lol :wonder:

Need some help choosing the joystick

I am now in the process of ordering parts. I have selected the buttons I want to use (Sanwa OBSF-30), but I am having trouble with the joystick.

I want to get the JLF-TP-8YT or JLF-TP-8Y, but LizardLick does not sell that. They only sell the JLF-TP-8T, which has a rotated PCB. I am not sure if this will fit the SE stick correctly. Does anyone know if it will?

My back up is to just get a Seimitsu LS-32-01. I believe this will work fine, but does anyone know for sure?

I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks guys.

what’s the difference between the JLF-TP-8T and the JLF-TP-8Y ?? Lizard Lick only has the JLF-TP-8T, can that still be used?

^ i want to get the JLF-TP-8YT but lizardlick doesn’t have it

as for the differeance between the 8T and 8Y … 8T has a mounting plate/8Y doesn’t and also the connector pins are in different positions

also any word on how to change the in lay for custom art?

Can someone confirm whether or not the JLF-TP-8T will work in the stick? Is some modification needed? If so, what exactly must be done? Thanks.
